I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, so move it if it's not.
But is there anyway for me to see the rules of fanime? I heard that some cons ban fake weapons, signs and more. And I want to know I don't break the rules and get kicked out or something of mine gets confiscated. Is there a list somewhere? I checked on the offcial website, but I couldn't find anything.

On the official site this is all I could find:
"Any genre of cosplay is allowed for Hall Cosplay, but all costumes must be suitable for all audiences. This convention is a family-friendly event, and there will be people of all ages present throughout the convention. Please keep this in mind when designing and choosing your costumes, and allow your common sense and good taste to prevail. FanimeCon reserves the right to deem a costume as unacceptable and request the wearer make modifications as necessary."
I'm sure you saw that though. I've seen alot of fake weapons at fanime, if you have and specific questions about your cosplay i'm sure you could email the staff, post on the official forum, or give us more details here. In any case I believe you would receive an answer.

I think as long as you don't hit anybody, you can take weapons with you.

Okay, thanks!
Techniqually it's not a weapon, and there's no way I would hit someone with it.

You must take any and all forms of weaponry to Con-Ops to be "peace tied" (they will put a zip tie on it).

Also, fake guns are scrutinized very thoroughly too. I think there was some rule regarding the color of the gun and stuff like that. You can check the Fanime forums under the cosplay section, there's probably more rules there.

Rovers can also peace bond as well(their office is next to Con Ops). They have the final say on whether or not the weapon is safe to be worn on convention grounds. Basically if it cant be peace-bonded, you can't have it on convention grounds. Fake weapons are also find as long as you get it peace-bonded satisfactorily.
Rule-wise, I believe it's all common-sense stuff. Just keep your actions and clothing at a PG-13 level(the event is family-friendly), don't go anywhere unauthorized/do anything illegal by state standards(obey Hotel staff, SJCC staff, and Fanime staff instructions), and you shouldn't get kicked out.
Signs are ok as long as it's not soliciting anything or have anything that's offensive and/or derogatory. The site will probably have the rules up as the con draws nearer and the upper level staff gets more accomplished.

Kazuma_uzumaki i was wondring this can there be profainity in the karaoke room? me and my friends wanted to sing the internet is for porn but wasnt sure ...Deliver me from all of this sadness... I'm pretty sure just as long as it's within PG-13 bounds, it should be okay...
However, my word is not the God of Kareoke's word. I suggest you PM/e-mail the Karaoke head and ask. :3 -Chiri Kcrinh Please PM me any questions regarding Gaia Online and its features. Please DON'T send me random friend requests if I don't know you. ...Deliver me from all of this madness...
