I'll just get this part out of the way. I'm sorry if this topic was brought up before. I honestly didn't know and I fear the raging anger or flamers upon my ignorance crying
Do you really think that, Yoshihiro Togashi intended for Hiei and Kurama to be together like they were? I mean, I no it wasn't intended...but deep down? I mean...all those pictures of those two together can't be coinsidence....can they?
Or did our favorite couple originate from all its fans? sweatdrop Girls have got an eye for spotting gay couples in animes....something about gay people just draw their attention.. Oh, anyways... yeah... question!
Who made our couple? Was it destiny by the ink of Yoshihiro or did their origin come from yaoi obsession from fans???

I know it "wasn't intentional," but if you told me he "subconsiously" stuck it in there, I wouldn't be surprised. The pictures of them together, the pictures of Kurama hugging Hiei, their relationship in general...not to mention, I think Togashi did a shounen-ai (or was it YAOI?) manga before YYH, so he's not averse to it.
But it doesn't really matter, because it's so lovably cute! wink

I believe that Togashi once said, "I didn't intend for them to be a couple, but it's up to the fans." At least, that's what I've read on several websites (some of which support the couple and some of which do not). I think that some of the people that worked on the anime tried to work in small hints in some of the official artwork (such as the picture in which Kurama is tugging on Hiei's ear), but I don't believe Togashi included such scenes in the manga.

I remember hearing somewhere that when they started making the television series, they mentioned something to Togashi about adding hints of a Kurama x Hiei relationship, and he liked the idea. 0.o Though he didn't intend anything in the manga. Who knows if that's true. XD
Though he seems like the kind of guy who could or would make them close like they are in that kind of interesting way JUUUSSSSSSTTT because he felt like it at the moment. Then changed his mind later. Then changed his mind again. Then it all ended and he didn't really know anymore. Or maybe that was me.

Who knows if that's true. XD It's the difference between the manga and anime that's the main reason why I don't support it. I have not watched it, and as far as I know, it's not canon in the manga. In fact, there were more hints on HieiXMukuro than there was of any other pairing. After all, you remember my first arguments, don't you Idiom? And yes, I still disagree with the pairing, but I love you guys regardless. smile

I just saw episode 109, which, if anything, gives the most HieixMukuro hints out of any episode in the series. The English version even calls it "Love and War," for cryin' out loud. Doesn't mean I have to like it.
Also doesn't mean I have to think HieixKurama is canon, but I definitely like that.

you must also note that the woman who wrote Sailor Moon is Togashi's wife...if I were his wife i'd definately want some shonen-ai hints. He also has a knack for making his characters really...how should i put this...gay? yeah. His work after Yu Yu Hakusho, called Hunter x Hunter, has more gay undertones than most other anime ive ever seen. Hell it has more undertones than an actual shonen-ai anime itself! xp

Hm...I've only seen up the the episodes they've shown on tv but i do know that it looks like everytime Kurama get's hurt or Hiei gets hurt the other is always there to help each other. I hope they were intended to be gay. I think it's cute. and some girls don't like gay couples. I didn't like it until last Feb. when my friend told me to read the some SetoxYami ficcies and i was all like..."eh, I don't wanna." Then she started im-img me pictures of KuramaxHiei and then, i read a few ficcies, and I immediately fell i love with all kids of shonen-ai stuff. Now I want to own as many doujinshi as i can. I go to this anime convention called Numa Rei No Con and I saw a whole bunch of doujinshi and I wanted to buy them...but you have to be at least 18 with ID to buy some...so it sucked...and none of the friends i was with were over 18...
but i think it was highly intended for them to be a couple. Well, from my point of view. Why do you think they came out in a group (Kurama, Hiei, and Gouki)? because it was fate. The creator WANTED us to see that they were meant to be a couple. I mean why whould he put them together from the beginning if he didn't? that's my opinion... sweatdrop

There's just something about Mukuro I just don't like....I don't know what it is...but HieixMukuro pairings just really turn me off. It's not that I hate her or anything; she's a good demon as a whole....but, I don't know.....
At first I thought it was the height issue but Kurama has the same thing going so that's not it. I don't know, the minute I first saw Kurama and Hiei official pics, I knew I wanted them together. heart heart heart heart

Hunter Hunter has a lot of gay undertones, but it's far less likely that YYH's so obviously. Just my 2 cents though. smile

I know Togashi said that they arent a real couple but the pictures he drew are most likely because of all the fangirls. The whole supply and demand thing ya know?

But as far as "hints on HieiXMukuro", I'd have to disagree. Since both Hiei and Mukuro's, and Hiei and Kurama's relationship could be taken in many difference ways. I think it depends on who you are.
