the hat tested him and found him a gyrffindor. the hint of voldmort's magic would have put him in slytheran if he had not been so against it

Of couse he is so brave and In the second book he pulled Godric Gryffindor's sword out of the sorting hat .

When Lord Voldemore killed Lily and James Potter, he tranfered some of his powers to Harry. He WAS supposed to be in Slythering because The Sorting Hat knew that he had some of Voldemort's powers. You know why he wasn't put in Slytherin? Because he asked The Sorting Hat to put him in Gryffinor. And that my friends, proved that he was differant from Lord voldemort.
