The delicate unicorn paced the feild in which she had been grazing. Her stomach had been growing more upset and her body was begining to ache. A thin sheen of sweat beaded over her pale skin as the unicorn mare finally laid down.
Her breath began to come in shallow gasps as the contractions hit her, sending her body into spazims of pain that washed over her. Her rainbow mane and tail pooled on the ground around her, like a river of color seeping out from her pale body.
Her stomach was heavy with foals, and she knew that only one thing could be happening. Her foals where fighting to get out and they where going to come now whether she wanted them to or not. Nickering softly she wondered where Kanati was, he had been near by when she had finally laid herself down in a bed of tall grass.

A stallion walking close-by saw the poor mare in distress and slowly made his way over towards her. "Hello there." he said quietly to the mare hoping not to scare her. "What's wrong?" Apple asked looking at the mare's stomach. Tilting his head he looked down to the Wolf that was his friend. "What do we do?" he asked not knowing what was wrong with the mare.
Maylin looked up to the stallion. "We should get her some water to drink," she order the stallion before stepping in front of the mare. "Hello there," the blue wolf said to the soon to be mother. "I've seen this happening before," the wolf said to herself trying to remember what happened. "Just take deep breaths," she ordered the mare with a smile on her face.

The mare watched the strangers approch her, fear creeping up in her throat. There was nothing more that she wanted right now than kanati by her side. Still it seemed like they ment her well.
She fought though her labor pains in an attempt to speak with them, the contraction finally fading enough to allow her speach with out yelling. "The foals...are coming... Find... Kanati.. Please." she pleaded with them. She wanted him much more than water right now.

Kanati had gone out to get Starshine some apples and carrots for no other reason than he just had felt like it. His deep voice echoed abit as he hummed a sweet song on his way towards the gerneral area he would figure Starshine would be. Turning round a corner he spotted Starshine on the ground and a stallion and a wolf near her. Dropping the stuff he had in his mouth he galloped fowards his hoof beats being heard for once as he wasnt paying attention to how he was running.
He whinnied a warning at the wolf and stallion just in case as he ran towards them. As he got closer he could tell it wasnt their doing that Starshine was on the ground. It seemed the foals were on the way.
"Starshine..." Kanati then lay beside her not sure what he should do.
"Can I get something for you my love, how may I help?"

Starshine heard Kanati's voice and her expression lifted dispite the pain of the contractions that rocked her body. "No, you are here by my side now, and that I sall I desire. The foals... are on the way." she said through grit teeth, her body glowing with a sheen of sweat.

"The foals? Now really?!!! Oh oh umm...... breath steady my love and just start pushing." Kanati's words were jumbled and sluring he wasnt sure what to do for her or what to say.
"It will be alright." He was saying that but for her and in hopes he might calm down as well.

Starshine nodded her head against the grass and managed a small chuckle dispite her pain. "Yes, the foals are coming now." she said as she looked up at him. The Valiant stallion she had come to love was panic stricken but she could also see the excitement in his face which made her smile. He was going to be a great father.
Her body shook with a hard spazim and she grunted and gasped for breath. Her body was wrecked with pain and she shook her head from side to side. At last it seem a warm wriggling body fell to the ground beside her, a filly.

Before the spazim hit Kanati nuzzled Starshine.
"I love you and I know you can do this." He before watching her spazim he hated not being able to do anything for her it just made him want to scream, but in what seemed like hours it stopped the first foal was out.
He smiled and stood to check the foal out.
"The first one is a filly my love. We have a girl." His voice was joyful and excited like a foal.

Starshine was glad the first wave had seemed to pass and for awhile he body was still. She wondered if they would only have one filly, for her body was now calm and the dull ache that washed over her body was easy to ignore. She tried to lift her head to see the filly at the far end, catching only glimpses of the filly. "Oh I bet she is beautiful...I cant wait to see her.. " she said softly as she laid her head back down on the grass to rest.
After a few moments of rest her eyes began to drift close, but it became apparent that by no means was she only going to have one foal. A kick in her side signaled the shifting form of another on its way.
