Alright, I feel that the guild needs a major makeover. What does everyone else think? We definitely need a new mini-banner for the guild listings. I'm also going to go through and remove/recycle some of the old threads. I've recently been able to make some more time for Gaia (well, for you guys and my guilds anyway) and I think some changes need to be made. What does everyone else think? Any suggestions? Any volunteers to help out? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think it would be wise to make something that would get this guild more active.
Lots of people love animals, but there's only so much to talk about under that category.

I think we need some kind of membership campaign. Maybe in the guild forum. We need more active members.

Yes, it's the problem I face in all of my guilds, and I'm sure it's not uncommon in others: the activity factor. I only ban people from guilds where participation is required, such as Role-playing guilds and such. I suppose I could ban anyone on here with zero posts, but I don't see what good it would do.
And yes, Poodle, I totally agree. Do you have any suggestions as to how to promote activity?
It seems several of our members (based on join request posts and looking at subforums) are more into pets than any other animal. It's only common, as I think a majority of this guild are teens or pre-teens still going to high-school or lower, and haven't really experienced much outside of the pets in their own lives. I'm not saying this for all, but it seems the case for most, and it's just my opinion/observation. I'm not sure what I'm trying to say there, but perhaps it could lend some info as to what to do with the guild.
I already a few ideas running through my head, and after I finish studying for my Algebra exam (eek!) I'll try to implement them. Any additional suggestions are GREATLY wanted.

Hm...If you need help with anything, talk to me. I can help out with whatever you need. I can get in more members, too. I have a guild of my own, so we could makes the guilds affiliates..That'd get a lot of new active members.

Um... I think we need new banner(s), one for each time of the year Halloween, Christmas etc. And more fun stuff like contest like lotto and whos pet looks the cutest that stuff! Umm...about banning inactive members I'm kinda of always busy and stuff and this is my second post since I joined so could you plz not do that? Well let me see I belong to five guilds (one for each of my interst) so I'll spend a day on each guild and alternate on weekends so I can be more active! ^^ I hope that helps!

I reckon Synthis has got some good ideas.
Perhaps more contests and the like would attract more members.
But the problem is, this isn't the contests guild. This is the Animal Lover's Guild.
The only way to attract members is to make this place more appealing, right? Well we're following a set theme here - this place is for lovers of animals. Now if these so-called "animal lovers" are only interested in pets and don't actually have experience with them, then there isn't going to be much for them to talk about.
I understand that hardcore animal enthusiasts could spend hours discussing the same subject, but few of us are here. That's the problem.
A successful guild isn't made entirely out of a good effort on the crew's part. I believe that half of it has to go to the actual thing that the guild's based on. A person may create a sock lover's guild, and they may be the best guild-runner of all time. But if no one else likes socks enough to join, then what good are the skills of said person?
We can't rely on the coming of new members to pick this place up. The responsibility to give this place life rests with us as existing guild members. We have to be more active - that's our job here. We have to post more. Please, not spam posts that mean nothing and do nothing but add a few more days of life to this place. Meaningful posts. Posts that are worth reading.
And if there's nowhere to post, we make threads.
It's as simple as that.

OK, I just spent an hour moving threads into subforums, changing ownership again, and creating two new subforums and removing two. I'm tired of this at the moment and I need a break. biggrin I still need volunteers to help clean. Thanks!
Also, Poodle, I love you. Your post was right on the money. Are you willing to help out or is your post your contribution? Either way, it's fine. ^^ Thanks for your post. =D

I mean, I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't. Which I sort of am, since I didn't really follow my words through with actions.

Poodle Crusader We need all the publicity we can get.
With more publicity comes more members. And with more members, there's a greater chance that we'll actually have members who post. Often.
I agree. But we have tried most things and it hasn't worked.

We could also have a contest to see who donates the most gold. We could have prizes for the winners too, to get people motivated to be active.
Another thing is we could have a Member of the Month. Who ever is most active, nice, helpful wins a prize or banner to put in their profile or something?

To add on to that, I think we should do some weekly contests, like where we do the same contest every week. Right now the contests are just done at random. We can still do the random contests, but then also have the weekly contests.
