† Hey, if you wouldn't mind, I've had my eye on an ESP for a few months.. and I hunger for it, but I'm not sure if I should actually get it... † † I've been playing for about nine months now, with a silly Squier (Fender) starter bass pack that I got for Christmas of 05.. †
† I guess I'm asking if I could get a quick review for it. † † The link is here... Check it out for me, please? †
† I'll accept any advice, thoughts, or opinions you have.. thanks. †

oh la la, im in love with what you got picked out. Myself would be a ESP kinda guy but theres like no where in town or in local towns that deal with them. Im a bc rich guy but from the looks i'd advice yourself to play and see what you think, dont matter what others do but its what you think of it.

Definately not my cup of tea, LTD makes decent stuff, nothing really to spectacular. For $750 I'd get a Fender Geddy Lee Sig, a Fender Jaguar, a Music Man S.U.B., a Lakland Skyline, a Yamaha TRB1004, a Conklin GT4, etc.. And even more if you look for used.

† And tell me if you find it cheaper, please.. † I've picked up the Tom Araya ESP which is similar so I'll give you my thoughts on that one. It's a good size bass with a good low end and lots of aggressive tone. The Araya sig was pretty much designed with a pick in mind, I don't know if that's the same with this one or not. Also, it didn't seem to have to much high end power, all it's muscle was in the low end. It's a decent bass, but not my style.

I've only got one ESP bass, and I have to say that for me, they are awesome basses! I'm more of a Warwick man, but he ESP has similar credit when it comes to durability, sound and value. ESP's don't break easily and I find that they're strings allow just the right amount of slack to let you play metal, rock and even a little slap Jazz bass! ESP's are cool and the price isn't too bad!

I used to play one of those, actually, but I remember it as a DF-404. Maybe a slightly different model, but I'm too lazy to see.
Either way, I really liked the neck for that bass. It was a nice thin neck, nice for easy riffing. Not the best for slap, as there wasn't much clearance between the strings.
All in all, it was a good bass. good sound, easy to maintain, and it looked good, but I'd still look around at other models and companies. For the same price, you could pick up a nice Warwick or Ibanez.

its alright i guess, its really sort of more of a metal bass, and i respect that, but i think there's better buys out there. just make sure you play it before you buy it, on the esp website there might be a dealer map and you might have to do a little bit o drivin. (dont make my mistake)

that's a pretty good bass, ESP necks tend to play really well. I also dig the inlays. i was actually planning on getting one of those myself awhile back, but i blew all my money on an amp domokun

Holy Cow! Nice bass!
I'm digging the look and the local GC has some ESPs I tend to try out while my brother has guitar lessons. I dig their sound too man.
Totally get it, the inlays kick a** and the body is a beautiful peice of work.

its fancy but the hard ware is a little laking if its more then 300 bucks i would screw it and go for some thing a little better. mabye a fender J bass i mean looks are nice but really sound matters more. over all its okay but not the quality you would find in a nice thing like a jaguare or a thunderbird.

It looks nice, but if you want to spend that much cash I would stick with a mainstream reliable bass guitar for you to take a step up on. My current bass is a Fender American Precision, I also had the Squier pack beforehand and the P-Bass really has yet to fail me. I've tried other basses and they don't even come close to the smooth neck, versatile tone, and great construction of my Bass. My advice is to stick with a Fender, Musicman, or something that has proved its reliability. A lot of not-so-well-known basses just look cool. If you're going to drift away from the usual I would either do it once you have a reliable bass or after you've throughly tested the one you plan on getting (in person). Good luck.

I have the poor man's model of that line. The F-104. Fast neck, good sound, all around tough(meaning that you can beat thecrap out of it regularly.)

well, it has a good neck thru design, but im a firm believer in finishes like thar taking away from the tone of the instrument... I have a satin finish on my bass, but that still takes away from the tone... but that ESP beats the hell out of what you have now... Also, it doesn't look comfortable... I have never been a fan of the jaged edges... Im more of a smooth flawless look... but thats just a personal preference... I suggest a Scheter though... same price.. better design (Stillehto Studio) sp?
As I said before... def. go with the neck thru design... the sound is so much better than a bolt on

Good luck. with a design like that, this person seems to like heavier stuff.... so I would suggest not getting any thing with Single Coil pickups... (and I hate Fender with a passion... again with the personal preferences) fender is not as hand made as this bass, given that the are both machined.. this one is neck thru.. so it has to have a little more human touch to it...
