I HATE when the bands I like have their sudden burts of popularity--- in 05-06 pretty much.
Examples?
1.AFI- I've liked AFI for a really long a** time, haha. I listened to their music when I was like what, twelve? Everyone I talked to really said "Oh, I don't care for them that much" or "Man, that band kinda sucks" And then, now, this year they realease the song "Miss Murder" and everyone worships them for that ONE song. Or pretends to like their other songs for that ONE song.
2.HIM- HIM has always been pretty popular, and I've known about HIM since sixth grade--- but, they realease Wings Of A Butterfly DarkLight this past year, and now all of a sudden there are a whole bunch of people saying "OMFG HIM IS SSOOO AWESOME!>!!!@!@!!" - I mean, I realise bands get recognized when they come out with new Albums, but it's never been THIS bad D:
3. Panic! At the Disco- Hm, I knew them really when no-one else did. I'm glad my friend got me into them first ^^; When I used to mention them in school, people were saying "Who the hell are those guys?" and now EVERYONE knows about them. :/ P!ATD probably won't even be noticed in like two years--- and that's the way I like it D:
4. The Sex Pistols.- Okay, people usually say they like this band because you know, they ARE true punk. A lot of people think, "Oh, If I say I like them, then people will think I'm a hardcore punk!" It really ticks me off when they can't even name their favorite song.
And yeah, those are just a few examples so--- Know what I mean? D:

i agree with the afi one. i used to love them, but now they get played way too much.
i didn't like it when my chemical romance got popular either. they kept it more real on their first album.
taking back sunday got a lot more popualar too. not huge, but a few preppy girls now are claimg that they 'looooooove them soooooooo much' when they only know one song. one girl even said she was going to their concert because adam was 'like so totally sexy!' then she said she was a waaaay bigger fan than me. i found that pretty funny since i've liked them for a couple years and have all of their cds.(oh, and i don't like them just because of adam.)

Meh the metal music I like will never become main stream for the fact not alot of people like metal music, most people these days like shity bands like Fall out boy...Ps. Pete Wentz sucks.

I know a lot of people probably hate them now, but i used to like Slipknot and Mudvayne way before they became popular. Now everyone who buys a Slipknot t-shirt thinks they are "maggots", and yet they don't even know who the hell Anders Colsefni, Josh Brainard, or Cuddles is.
As for HIM, i can't honestly say i like them, but im pissed off that everyone is in love after Wings of a Butterfly.

I can't really say I like Fallout boys sound that much, that'd I'd be a 'hardcore' fan, but I really love their lyricd xD And they are DAMN good in concert. Serious here.
ANYWAYS, I agree about Pete. He's got like , what, 50 billion swooning girls out there? He's frickin UGLY but they keep claiming he's sexy, lol. It's scary, really.

How about I say that if my 2 fav. bands get on the top list I'm going to be pissed I like having my music that I love not be known all around cause then its much better to listen to. Now my fav. bands well top ones right now are : Within Temptation, and Celldweller. Those 2 are great. Anyway I'm tired of all these things I liked before and all of a sudden now everyone likes it and does whatever. Most of the time I'm like WTF. Now Tiff you know one thing I've been pissed about lately with my tongue rings in my ears lol I've had that for what 5 years now? and now this year everyones doing it. Oh well can't beat society. lol and yess I know a lot of people get these damn triggers in the head that just get you ticked off lol. Well I have no idea why I wrote so much Maybe just cause I'm bored have fun people.

No. My favorite bands are good and deserve recognition, and I'll love them regardless. The only reason it would suck would be if they were to change their music just to be popular, in which case they wouldn't be my favorite bands.

i agree like my fav band underoath...but
some effen poser drank and smoked and was cutting himeself and all of a sudden he turned sXe and all the t-shirts i have he saw the bands and bought the shirts and all his little druggie friends went sXe too and now they're obsest with underoath

I don't hate it when they get recognizition, but when they become one of those bands that is played on the radio 25-30 times a day, it gets depressing. My favorite band is Chevelle, and they've gotten recognizition, but they're not widely popular (at least from what I know stare ), which makes me happy. But if they become really popular, people will think that I only like them for the moment 'cause they're on the radio.
