A while ago I bought a box set of 8 of Kurosawas films on E-bay, just so I could get a copy of The Seven Samurai (awesome movie) Has anyone else here even heard of Kurosawa?

Anyway, I'm just posting this because I watched Rashomon today. It was amazing. I'd watch it again, but I don't have the time.

Yes, I've heard of Kurosawa, but I don't watch foreign films, as it's against my religion. blaugh

oooh, that makes me sad. I got into his films after a friend of mine introduced me to the anime Samurai Seven, which is based on The Seven Samurai. The deal I got on e-bay was too good to pass up. I suppose you're not a fan of monty python either then?

Oh. I LOVE Monty Python. But that's not foreign, silly, that's British. mrgreen

Hooray, I'm not foreign! My friend showed me a silent french surrealist short film once "The Andalusian Dog". It was strange.

Monty Python is almost more awesome than Kurasawa. Thanks to them, I'm skilled in not being seen.

Well, I am skilled in silly walks!

P.S. The Andalusian Dog is nasty. What people call art!

I know! He's also a fan of the movie Audition aaack, i've never seen it, but I know a bit about it. Supposedly it's "a swan dive into a swimming pool of needles and razor wire"

From what I hear it's just twisted. He tells me I'd enjoy metropolis, which I think is German, and I know is silent.

I finally found Yojimbo! I got it off Limewire last night!!!! I'm excited. I can't watch it until like Sunday though cheese_whine

I've been looking for it since I got that box set off e-bay with The Seven Samurai and Rashomon. I watched The Throne Of Blood a little while ago. It was pretty good. It was Kurasawa's adaptation of Macbeth. The ghost they had in place of the witches was pretty creepy. Before his scene it sucked, but it got a lot better as it went on.

.Konnichiwa.
Akira Kurosawa is one kicka$$ dude. xD I saw Throne of Blood I think it's called. That was a great movie. I've also been wanting to see Akira and The Seven Samurai. Maybe next time I go to the movie store.

The Throne of Blood is great! The Seven Samurai is even better. What did you think of the "monster" in The Throne of Blood? I think i'm going to watch The Hidden Fortress next. Check e-bay. That's where I got a box set of 8 of his movies for the price of about one and a half of them.

The old witch lady person that I thought was a man. There's just something creepy about the way he/she moves.

Oh yeah. She was sort of creepy. I really liked how it was in black and white, because it just made it seem even more ominous. They didn't have color anyways did they, back then?

Nope. I think after he stopped working with Toshiro Mifune, after Redbeard, Kurasawa made some color films though.
