Lying underneath a tree and gazing at the vast green lands of the Pridelands, Na'ilah was enjoying herself. It was not too long ago that the green lioness had given birth to her family and there were far and few times where she actually got to spend time by herself. Lying her head on her paws, she curled her tail around her and enjoyed the gentle breeze that tugged on her fur gently.

Mika'il left Shimah to go and play with her new friends. He was very glad that his daughter was making friends as he noticed she was very quiet and shy most of the time. His lime green eyes flickered over the green landscape before landing on his mate not too far off. He loped over there with a jovial greeting, "Na'ilah!" He laid himself down next to her and licked her cheek affectionately, "How are you doing, Love?"

As her mate came closer, Na'ilah could feel her heart contract a bit with each sway of his fluffy mane. Oh, how he had swooned her greatly. She flicked her tail and raised her head a bit as he laid down next to her in the shade. Returning the lick to his cheek, "Mika'il, what a pleasure to see you. I am doing well, just taking the time to relax and think. And yourself?" She silently wondered where Shimah was? The little green lioness was usually with her father most of the time.

Mika'il rested against his mate slightly and let out a breath. Ah, relaxing sure did sound fun, but what's the catch? His lime green eyes shifted to the lioness, "I am well and Shimah is off playing with a friend. But, what is the occassion for relaxing?" He looked around once more, "Where are the other children?"

Stretching out her forelegs, Na'ilah yawned once again. She was enjoying this time, but Mika'il's words brought her back to reality. Her children! How could she be so careless and forget about them! Getting up quickly, "I don't know! They were wandering off, Ma'isah and Siltim, to go play some where. Oh! What if something's bad happened to them!" She began to fret at the thought of her children being hurt.

Mika'il was jarred slightly as Na'ilah got up and began to fret. He shook his head and pounced on her, pinning her down, "Na'ilah, calm down! If they are anything like you are, then they are fine. Don't worry about them so much, let them be cubs and be able to go explore our pridelands." He gave her a lick but kept her pinned down just so that she wouldn't fret any longer, "Just go with the flow."

Pinned underneath her larger mate, Na'ilah squirmed and squirmed some more before she sighed slightly in defeat. She wasn't about to get any one of them hurt so she just laid there and took the lick as a sign of her reluctance. At his words, her ears flatten slightly to her head and eyes couldn't bare to look at Mika'il. She was being too overprotective of her cubs again, wasn't she? In a tiny voice, "I'm worried about Siltim...he's so small and could get hurt easily..." He was the runt of the litter afterall, and she worried about her son's safety most of the time.

Mika'il smiled to Na'ilah as he rolled off of her and lied down. "Na'ilah, don't smother Siltim so much. Just because he's small doesn't mean he's weak or could get hurt easier than our other children. He won't like to be around you so much if you're too overprotective of him, Love." He knew that from experience and didn't want the same for any of his children. But, he also knew that Na'ilah was new to being a mom and was just testing the water.

Just lying there, Na'ilah began to worry about herself and how she is as a mother. Turning to gaze at Mika'il, she felt her insides warm up by the mere sight of him. In a tiny voice, "Am I a bad mother?" That was the question that has been plaguing her mind as of late and the answer worried her. Would her children hate her in the future? She couldn't bare the thought of that as she covered her eyes with her paws.

Mika'il felt her pain as he could hear it in her words. Shaking his head at her, he replied, "No Na'ilah, you're just new to the art of mothering and it's normal to question yourself. You're not a bad mother and don't ever think that!" He leaned down to nuzzle her, "Remember always, I love you."

Leave it up to Mika'il to make her feel better. That was just like him and Na'ilah was glad that she had found a mate that made her feel good when she was feeling down. Rolling over to her side to face him, she took in his dark features and loved the way his mane rested over his eyes slightly, giving him a slightly mysterious look. A smile slowly crept onto her muzzle as she sat there gazing at him adoringly.

Mika'il could feel her loving gaze and thanked the gods for his black coat or else his whole cheeks would be covered in blush for the whole world to see. He flicked his tail nervously, wondering if he should tell Na'ilah or not. Sooner or later, he'd have to discuss it with his mate about their second daughter wanting to go off and explore the world.

Lime green eyes picked up on his anxious movements as soon as they started. Na'ilah blinked before narrowing her eyes a bit. What was he antsy about? Was there something he wasn't telling her? Drawing in a breath, she breathed out slowly as she was letting go the feeling of wanting to pin him down, like he had done to her. In a still voice, "Mika'il..."

Mika'il straighten up a bit. He was caught, that he knew of by the sound of her voice. His eyes turned slightly to gaze at Na'ilah's and that was all he needed to see before he gulped a bit. "Yes, Na'ilah?" Every word he spoke hung like a thread in thin air.

Sitting up, Mika'il's voice told her everything she needed to know. Getting to her paws, Na'ilah took a few steps towards her mate and pressed her nose against his own, "Is there something you need to tell me?" Was it about their children? Is one of them hurt? What was wrong! Her insides were screaming, but she kept her outside composed as to not let him see her inner turmoil.
