When people ask how I feel about Emo, or when the subject arises, and I tell them that I dislike it, they say things like: "You hate gays!" and; "You don't respect originality!"
That's completely false. I support gays, lesbias, bisexuals, the works. I support them 100%, and think they deserve to be treated/have all the rights that straight people do. ALSO, Emo is not originality. I respect originality, I envy it. When I hear the word "Emo", originality is the last thing that comes to my mind.

Emo original? Ahem... ROTFLMFAOLOLLERCOPTERLMAOSKATESANDSTUFF!!11seven!!111!116
Emo is a weak, pollished rehash of a mid/late 80's genre of Hardcore/Punk. Originally called 'emotive hardcore', it focussed on people and the variety of problems they encoutered during daily life. It was about having a hard life, with real problems.
What I just described is what I respect. The original 'emo'. The bollocks you see nowdays is always about some relationship that ******** up. Oh, how horrible...

I have this one friend who always says, "I'm emo"...and I'm like, "if you claim to be emo you either aren't or you need to go and die in a hole. And thus Jennifer, you aren't emo." And then she says I'm jealous that I'm not as emo as she is and how I'm not cool blahblahblah. neutral Jennifer used to be a good friend until she fell victim to this trend.

Have any of you also noticed that when people say they dislike emo, the emo kids automatically assume that that person is a prep or jock? stare

LunarSong Have any of you also noticed that when people say they dislike emo, the emo kids automatically assume that that person is a prep or jock? stare They usually assume I'm a lonely person who spends day after day in his room. XD ... Ok, they're right about that. But they have the tendancy to call me 'goth'. =/

I myself am bisexual.
I'm convinced that originallity is an abstract concept that doesn't actually exist, and I can't hate something that doesn't exist.
I personally can't imagine being jealous of someone who hates being alive.
