heart Why I hate the 'Introspectives who wander the shadows.'
The reason I hate the Emo trend (NOTE: I do not hate the people. I hate the emo trend, and what it DOES to the people.) is because it promotes other peoples problems. Those belonging to the Emo trend tend to promote their troubles to other people, usually people they don't know. They usually do so by wearing shirts or accessories, or simply by using words. Basically, the people in the emo trend are saying: "Pity me, I am emotionally upset." OR "I'msodepressed, that makes me cool." They are burdening other people with their whiney, pitiful,pathetic nonsense.
DEPRESSION IS DIFFERENT FROM EMO. People who are actually depressed DO NOT PROMOTE IT. They won't wear big signs on themselves that say "Look at me, I'm depressed. I'm fishing for pity." rofl
More reasons WHY I dislike emo are obviously on the Emo Thread, and on the front page.

I mostly agree with you, Lunar. However, I do hate the people who follow the trend (with a very few exceptions). They are ignorant for allowing themselves to be corrupted by such things as God-aweful music, dressing up like a circus act and haircuts that would make the average barber cry in horror.
Other then that, the excessive whining/crying/complaining, claiming to be bisexual/gay to be 'part of the scene', and zealous band worshipping.

As said I don't like the trend, stereotypical sense. If people are in touch with there emotions, good for them- its when they lose that and in sense only feel the negative emotions. They make their own lives unhappy, and then complain about it to others, when there is something that they can do about it. Most of the 'emo's' I have meet suddenly turn towards animal rights and push the littlest thing as wrong that they themselves did the day before. They follow the lyrics of must of their music like a cult- becomming veggans, depressed, and the like. The musicians might actually feel this way, but that doesn't mean that the listeners should follow like lemings. If they would be themselves and believe in stuff like that instead of trying to seem cool, then I could respect it.

Anna, what you just descibed goes straight against the rules of being Emo. D;
They're brainwashed. It's impossible for them.

I hate emos because I've slapped too many of them for enabling people who are actually depressed to cut. Meaning that I took the knife and raged at a poor little emo kid who promptly said I didn't understand them.
I hate emos because they made cutting a fad. I hate emos because I have scars on my body and am labelled as a twit face because of it. I started the whole deliberately harming myself thing long long long before emo as a genre was even established. No one ever knew why the little eleven year old girl was trying to kill herself. Maybe it was because she was a pariah at school and people physically and mentally abused her.
I hate emos because they take all the seriousness away from teen depression. It's a serious thing and they make a travesty of it. A depressed teen crying for help gets smacked and called emo because of these selfabsorbed twits.
I hate emo. Because they make my life more difficult.

Lunar, I totally agree with you on hating the trend and what it does to a few people. 3nodding I rarely hate emo people, it's the trend I want to kill.
Reasons I hate the trend::
1. 95% of the people are into the trend because it's the "cool" thing to do. I've always been the dork and the one always saying "stop the labeling" blah, blah, blah but with emos it's hard NOT to label.
2. I hate how they complain about life. Try living in a third world country with no clean water, or a change of clothes, or healthy/ good food! I always tell my "emo" friends how life in Africa is getting worse because of the mass outbreak of disease and they always are like, "..Whatever!"...obviously because they must know life can be worse but they can't admit it.
3. I hate that stupid hair thing. Seriously.

Well, lets see my reasons:
1) The whining about their "horrible" lives. People everywhere have it worse. Way worse, and yet they feel it's neccessary to b***h and moan about it
2) Originality. Emo is just as original as Marylin Manson wearing eyeliner (sorry mate, others did it way before you, no offense).
3) "No one understands me" Oh yeah, we understand you all right. We just hate you. If I had a dollar for every time an emo has said that, I'd be loaning money to Bill Gates.
4) THE MUSIC. If you can call it music. To me it sounds like a bunch of whining with sound in the background (okay, 'cept maybe a few decent drummers, THATS IT). I'm a musician. I've been playing music for 7 years, and I can play five instruments, so I'd obviously be really PISSED OFF to see some idiots on stage playing the same staccatoed chord over and over and over again and getting famous for it! OMG do emo's really LISTEN to the music? It's like listening to a bad video game song on repeat. And since we're on the subject, anyone notice how emo's "headbang" on stage? They bend over. No lie. They bend over really far and slightly nod their heads.
Okay, I let that out. Sorry about #4 being so long, but I obviously hate how such crappy music can be so populat nationwide. It's like the boy bands of the 90's all over again, but with eyeliner.

About #4: one can headbang with one's back bent... But then atleast make it a Slipknot-style headbang; going into the headbang with your whole upper body. :3
Just be careful you don't smash your face against walls/tables/chairs/etc.

Mostly, I hate Emos because they are average people pretending to be depressed to get attention, and are too wussy to go full-goth. Yeah, I said it Emos! You're all lame goths!! And I'm not hot about Goths either. stare

Hm, something a disagree with you about is...
That Emo isn't anything like Goth. It's an 'imitation' of Goth and/or Punk.

I finally found a place a feel I belong. I've noticed that emo is a lot like the old goth, except that the clothing sucks, and instead of being heartless, they are pussys and want pity. So like I said, they are nothing alike. 3nodding
hey all, we should all go on a emo ethnic clensing spree... We all know they won't kill themselves, we have to help end their sufferings

Goths don't wear all black, ya know.
Hell, some of the most colorful people I know are goths. =P Just take one of the sub-catagories: the cyber goth. They're all colorful and s**t.
