keep flour in the fridge to prevent little bugs hatching in it...... trust me, it happens!

if frosting a cake on the plate it's going to stay on: put for peices of waxed paper under each side, so the plate won't get messy. Then pull out the waxed paper. Ta Da! perfectly clean!

Badger-Chan if frosting a cake on the plate it's going to stay on: put for peices of waxed paper under each side, so the plate won't get messy. Then pull out the waxed paper. Ta Da! perfectly clean! Also placing the cake onto a lazy susan helps the frosting process, allowing you to spin the cake around instead of manuevering around the cake.

Don't need to worry about weevils over here. (: I live in Southern California, and it rarely gets humid enough for them to hatch. As long as flour is kept in a cool dry place, it's fine.
Definitely, the lazy susan (or better yet, a genuine decorator's cake plate) is the way to go for cake frosting.
Cook your meats and sausages in your spaghetti sauce! Tastes great for both the meat and the sauce, and saves you the hassle of extra oil and dishes. (Of course, this is more for insane people like me who hand-make their sauce ...)
