I have to agree with Rimmer on this one: Napoleon
He's my favorite because of the way he thought.
Two examples:
"I could make the gunpowder myself if I have to." He didn't just bring in people to do things for him. He could do whatever was necessary himself.
When he conquered Egypt, he didn't bring politicians or religious converters. He brought scientists from all fields, and was indirectly responsible for finding the Rosetta Stone. His scientists were measuring and examaining at the same time that his soldiers were fighting.
Who's your favorite fascist dictator, and why? smile

I tend to like the Roman emperors, myself. 3nodding They had a certain evil style all their own. Caligula, Nero, etc. I'll look up some examples later.

I think that Napoleon and Caligula are probably my all time favorites. They just have that crazy way of doing things with style. smile

I have a bizarre fascination with Nazi Germany so I would probably say Hitler.

I am definately a long-time Napoléon fan. I've been fascinated with him for at least the past 6 years. I guess just the way he operated in general. But I think my favourite thing about him was that he crowned himself with his own hands. It is an important message to send (if you're a dictator) that you aren't given the right to power from the church, you grant yourself that right to power. You answer only to yourself. Too cool.

I couldn't honestly say that I have a favorite at all, but for some reason, the Holocaust fascinates me... So, if I had to pick the one that interests me the most, I'd say Hitler. For me, my favorite and the most interesting are two completely different things.

Didn't know there were so many fellow Hitler fans here! (OK, maybe fam is the wrong word, but I'm brain dead from working right now!) I'm a WW2 fanatic myself!
Hitler and Napoleon definetly seem to take the prize so far, with Caligula coming in for a close third.
