Okay, I'm going to a convention in Boston next...April and I want to cosplay as Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2, but I'm not really sure what type of fabric I should try out. Here's an image.

And of course, after I get an answer I'm going to have to put everything on a hold because I'll need to wait to 'till my mom decides to buy a sewing machine.

Anyway, I own a short and a skirt that look similar. The short, though, is pink, but I'm going to dye it. And it doesn't have those ruffles and the stomach isn't showing. The skirt just isn't see-through and I'm probably going to keep it that way, considering I might be wearing it to the school talent show, as well.

One other thing, any tips on making the...poofy thing to her right? *blink blink*

Um... That's not Yuna... THat's Lenne.
Maybe for the poofy thing, you can use frabic and a medium interfacing? It looks like a sheet kinda stiff? THe gloves look kinda seethrough, so anything that's seethrough and light weight should do.
Her skirt looks a bit shiny, Baroque might be good, or just cotton with a bit of shine... THe white should be shiny! ^_^ I hope I helped!

Skirt- (I'll just say this in case you ever decide to make the outfit more accurate ^^) if you want to simulate the skirt I suggest getting a pair of tight shorts (spandex biker, hot pants, or make your own if you feel obliged) and puting a skirt that's made only of some lace (because that's what I looks like to me) over it. (I don't know if you can get lace that big, but you can sew strips of lace together)

The Gloves- here is a type of synthetic fabricthat looks like that..it's see through and multicolored...I don't know what it's called so you'll have to shop around local fabric and cratf stores (and be sure to hit up walmart- the fabric seletion is a bit small compared to other places but they tend to be cheaper and have a bit of everything)

Top- Mmm...any type of fabric would be fine...but for comferte's sake, I say go with either a basic cotten or a poly-cotton blend; synthetic doesn't breath too well...

Floofy thing- I would make it so that it does't puff out like that (would annoy the crap out of me) but what she said :points up: sounds good ^^

First of all, I put an image of Lenne instead of Yuna because it was the best image of the costume that I could find.

I've gone to local fabric stores lately, but can't seem to find the right type of fabric. I'll definitely need something, as 'little white blossom' said, but most of the fabric is a bit more heavy and would weigh down the costume.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

Her skirt isn't shiny.
That's a black lace skirt with a thong under it. You could substitute for small spandex shorts if you feel uncomfortable.

The white poof on her side isn't possible. That's simply for game effect. That's like attempting to make a Cardcaptor Sakura 'Cat outfit' poof out perfectly on the arms and skirt.
Your best bet is too look for a very light silk and use the gathering technique to make is look somewhat poofy. Umm, try layering the material in a really droopy fashion.

Yeah, I'm planning on layering it, anyway. It definitely is possible if you use layering...I've seen it. *cough*cosplay.com*cough* ^_^

Anyway, yay! I've begun the shirt...and I'm still looking for fabric for the lace skirt. I'm definitely gonna have to make it.
