please disregard the Marvel vs DC storyline from this discussion. That arc was an aberration and i wish it never happened. so, on with the good stuff.

Thor has God-Like Strength, Stamina and can summon Thunderbolts, and other elements, his hammer Mjolnir grants him greater control over Thunder, and enables him to channel his energies though it, amplifying them, creating a blast of amazing power.

Captain Marvel has powers given to him by the gods of old, Super strenght, Super speed, and some lightning control(I'm not very knowledgable of shazam so if anyone knows more, plz fill in the blanks for me). His powers come to him by means of a lightning bolt.

I think Thor wins, he is a god himself, and has more battle experience (thousands of years) than Billy BatsonShazam, he has toppled Hercules, and elemental Giants like Surtur.

Do you mean Captain Marvel, or the Wizard Shazam himself?

oops sorry. here in Portugal he's called Shazam. I meant Captain Marvel.
I've edited to the correct name. Thanks for the heads up.

I would say Thor. I think they are about equal in power but Thor has more versatility with Mjolnir.

Gods defeat near-gods, especially with Mjolnir frying and smashing Captain Marvel. That, and experience gives Thor the fight, IMO.

Thor's powers include Superhuman Strength to the extreme, super Speed and Stamina, Near-Invulnerability , Extraordinarily long life span, flight (via Mjolnir), atmokinesis, Force Blasts

Captain Marvel's powers include vast super-strength, invulnerability, super-speed, flight, Super Stamina, and vast wisdom/enhanced mental perception.

Marvel is the recipient of powers from 6 different God like figures. He has Solomon's Wisdom, Hercules' Strength, Atlas's Stamina, the powers of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury.

I think Captain Marvel is more than a match for Thor.

You said it. He's the recipient of the powers, not the owner of the powers themselves, and wise or not, he's still a kid inside all those atributes. I say even if they are aproximately matched in power, Thor gets the edge due to centuries of fighting experience.

Thor can fly/float just fine on his own without the aid of Mjolnir. We've seen it many many times. The problem comes when some writers want to throw in some PIS to tone Thor down for story purposes.

Listing the attributes that CM gets from those people doesn't help much. Thor has more than enough (possibly/probably more than those listed) stamina and courage. Thor is most certainly stronger than Hercules. Plus his wisdom is exceptionally high as well. Just like Hyuga said, CM's "wisdom" is basically fed to him, while Thor's is first hand. I'd chose Thor's fighting and life experience over having Solomon's wisdom whispered in my ear any day.

CM's speed is really the only advantage he has over Thor. But I'd say that Thor has more advantages over CM. What's CM's favorite magic move? That's right...magic lightning. What's Thor the god of? Thunder and lightning. Even though the old Marvel vs DC doesn't count for....well anything, it does point out CM's major disadvantage. He gets hit with lightning to turn into CM. I'd put good money on Thor's ability to control that power better than Billy can.

Thor has the advantage of experience and, as previously stated, mastery over thunder and lightning.

Thor is a god. Captain Marvel has received many powers, but I'm still going to say that Thor has the upper hand.
