<[Because hardly any of you would know what I'm talking about:
Newsquiz is a competition where teams from opposing schools read a week's worth of the local paper The Townsville Bulletin, memorise as much as they can, and then answer a series of twenty questions. I know it probably sounds urgh, but it's a lot of fun.
Anyway...for the fourth year running, my team's won! I'm so excited, because there was a lot of pressure on us to perform this year and this'll be my last year of being able to compete (I graduate from Year 12 the day before my 17th birthday, and the comp's only open to schools). Not only that, but we were up against the toughest team (besides us, of course!) in the competition - Pimlico State High. Their team captain just happens to be an ex-SMMC girl (SMMC = Saint Margaret Mary's College, which is the school I go to) with a very deep-seated grudge against our school. The competition is always very fierce, and this year the game was particularly close - we won by one point. The final score was 9-8.
I'm just glad it's over. I've been stressing all week, and now I can relax, gloat a little and focus on schoolwork.]>
