Mari Dislikes: Losing, when someone hurts her brother (number 1 way to piss her off), and being judged for being a dark elf.
Khal Dislikes: Having to keep the real him a secret, his chest mark and scar, worrying his sister (or anyone really), being judged for being a dark elf, being suddenly touched (example, surprise hugs), and when things are out of place of disorganized.

*Mari's Personality: If it wasn't for how much Mari cares about how hot she looks she'd totally be a tomboy. She is very similar to any knight that you'd find at the tavern, loud, proud (aka full of herself), flirtatious and prone to violence. She has a great sense of humor and is always cracking jokes. To everyone's surprise she does have mother-like tendencies, especially when it comes to her brother. She is super protective over him and if anyone lays a hand on him she will end them. While Mari is always throwing caution in the wind and taking chances she will nag those she truly cares about about staying safe and healthy and all that. Mari is also a very sexual/sensual girl but she takes pride in that. While she is a girl who likes to have her fun she takes work super seriously. She has goals for herself and will stop at nothing to achieve them.
Khal's Personality: Khal is similar to his sister in the sense that he enjoys rough housing, but he wouldn't consider himself at her level. He loved a good thrill just as much as her, however, he tends to think things through more carefully than her. Khal also enjoys cracking jokes but his humor is more innocent than Mari's meaning Mari will laugh at somebody while Khal would rather laugh with somebody. Khal definitely has insecurities that hold him back such as fearing what people will think of him being a hybrid and of his physical appearance. He doesn't like being questioned about the mark on his chest (which some might wonder why he tattooed it and to get that answer you'd have to ask him and be someone that Khal trusts). That's the main reason why he told Mari to put the second mark on his face, to distract people from the one on his chest. He equally hates his chest scar. Other than the physical, Khal worries that he is destined to be a monster because of his background. As a result, Khal tends to avoid talking about himself in great detail. The truth is, Khal does not have a positive view of himself but he'd like for that to change. He tends to stay positive about other people and will always give others the benefit of the doubt.
*Bio (At least 8 sentences): Mari and Khal were born into a demon worshipping dark elf cult. They were told the stories about how elves turned on the elven kingdom to side with the demons long ago and as a result they became what they are today. Mari and Khal's family didn't just worship demons because of the history between them and the dark elves though, through their worship they gained dark magic. Over time this lead to them becoming very cocky in nature, believing that they were far superior to every other species (not including demons). Their bias was so intense that it was forbidden for anyone in the family to wed someone other than a dark elf, and often to ensure this the family had arranged marriages within the cult they were apart of.
The mother of Mari and Khal was sort of like a priestess in the cult and was well respected. She also was put in an arranged marriage which resulted in the birth of Mari, however, it was clear that Mari's mother never loved her father. She respected him and got along with him, but it wasn't love. A few years after her birth the cult got the attention of one particular demon noble. He offered to give the cult a power unlike any other in exchange for time with Mari's mother. He had heard of her beauty and skill and was curious. Despite her being married, the cult allowed it. They viewed her going willingly with the demon as a "noble sacrifice." Little did they know that she had met the demon man before and they had sparked a romance in secret. The whole deal thing was just arranged so that neither of them would get in trouble if seen together. To her cult, she was doing them a favor, to the other demons, the demon noble was just having some fun.
Their time together result in Khal's birth and unfortunately not long after that the demon noble was caught up in an arranged marriage of his own and he had to part with Mari and Khal's mother. The cult quickly grew frustrated though upon Khal's birth. The demon noble had his fun with Mari and Khal's mother, but never gifted them the power he spoke up. The last time the cult saw him, including Mari and Khal's mother, he told them that Khal was the great power. He was to have dark magic far beyond any of them and as long as Khal stood with them they would benefit from his powers. This loophole infuriated the cult and as a result they decided to take the demon's words literally.
Despite Khal only being about 4 or 5 at the time he was ripped away from his mother and was forced into this ritual where a mark was burned into his chest. This magic mark would allow the cult to in a sense fuel themselves up by draining Khal. While Khal had to have the mark burned into him all the cult had to do was make and wear amulets with the same symbol on it. As long as they wear they amulet they can draw from Khal's power as much as they want. As a result, they wanted to ensure that Khal was strong.
He was pushed harder than other children to learn dark magic and combat. He was made to train longer and more often, and his instructors were harder on him. Even so he was talked about highly for his "sacrifice." He was always gifted nice things by the cult as a sign of thanks, but those gifts did little to ease the pain they caused him.
Mari, who at first wasn't sure how to feel about her brother due to the nature of his birth, quickly grew protective of him after the mark was placed on him. She refused to wear the amulet like everyone else in the cult and instead trained/studied as hard as she could to get stronger (she doesn't believe in short cuts). As time went on Mari could see the toll that the mark was taken on Khal so she did some research and found a mark that could help lessen the pain, but nothing would be able to completely erase it. She placed it on Khal's face (upon his request to have it there) and after he gained it Khal found himself being able to tolerate it a little more, but whenever multiple people in the cult were feeding off of him the mark couldn't do much.
Eventually, Mari couldn't take it. She loved learning about dark magic and combat from her family and the cult, but she hated how they treated her brother. What was worse was that Khal didn't even seem to care much. He let them use him and his excuse was always "They are at least thankful," or "It's for the good of the family." Seeing no other choice Mari knocked her brother out one day and threw him in the back of a wagon she stole. She drove it to the elven kingdom and requested to speak with the queen. Since dark elves were once a major threat she was not greeted with kindness. She found her and her brother locked up for a few days before the queen was willing to see her.
Despite the anger Mari felt towards her family she knew she couldn't sell them out because then they'd just drain Khal for everything he had and use that power to attack the kingdom. She also couldn't admit was Khal was either out of the fear that he'd be rejected, so she mixed truth and lies. She told the queen that she wanted to join the Lunar Guardians, which was true, but she said she wanted to do it to cleanse herself of the sins of her family who turned their backs on the kingdom and then abandoned her and her brother, which was a lie.
Taking pity on her the queen aka The Mother arranged a trial for Mari that would serve as a test of her skills. After passing she was granted the position of Lunar Guardian and her brother was allowed to work in the palace as a servant since Mari claimed that he wasn't a fighter (which wasn't true at all!).
Year later Mari has grown to love her position. Both she and Khal are way happier now, however, memories of the past still haunt them. They both worry that their family will hunt them down one day and neither of them know if they will end up claiming Khal's life through the use of the mark. They both are trying to find a way to remove it from him.

*Mari's Weaknesses: Overly confident, doesn't always think things through, long ranged weapons (anything you can throw and bow + arrows), and her brother.
Khal's Weakness: His chest mark (when activated he feels excruciating pain that at its worst can cause him to enter a coma and at best can make him feel like he is having an asthma attack and is struggling to breath), his self-doubt, weaponry (can use a spear but is way better at martial arts and magic), and his sister
*Mari's Abilities:
Moon Empowerment
- Can draw energy from moonlight that allows her to heal herself and regain some lost strength (not all). Mari also has the rare added benefit of being able to share her empowerment with others meaning she can heal people by converting moonlight into magical healing energy, or just give them some extra strength. She can also convert moonlight into energy blasts for attacks.
Runic Magic
- Can use runes for summoning, healing, portals, etc. She has become quite good at it in order to benefit both herself in battle and Khal when he needs healing. She is still a much better physical fighter though.
Khal's Abilities:
Negative Energy Manipulation
- This is completely based off of Khal's feelings. This dark energy is generated based on Khal's negative feelings such as anger, sadness, pain, etc. Since Khal tends to try to keep positive this power is rarely used, however, Khal has many negative feelings deep within him. Feelings of pain and depression that he keeps hidden, so when he uses this power it can be deadly depending how much of his inner negativity he is letting out. This energy can be used to create destructive blasts, shields/barriers, and on a more minor level can be pushed into another to cause them to feel whatever painful emotion Khal is feeling at the time. A BIG SIDE EFFECT is that this power could POTENTIALLY corrupt Khal after an extended period of time. This specific ability can be counteracted easily by light based magic.

- If Khal can get his hands on someone else's blood, even a drop, he can gain certain insight about that person or creature. This information is almost always random. He will usually get information about someone's personality, current feelings, things they like and dislike, etc. He might also see a random irrelevant memory of theirs. At other times though he can get a sense of what their skills and weakness are, and might even be able to catch a glimpse of their future.

- Khal's eyes swap between being orange-yellow cat eyes and dark brown. Mari's eyes are always blue but they don't always glow.
- The mark on Khal's chest is what his family uses to drain his powers (burned into him by his mother and later he tattooed over it) and the mark on his face was put there by his sister to help lessen the pain of his chest mark.
Half Demon Form
- Khal has a more demonic form that he hides. He was actually born in his more demon like form but as he aged he was taught how to control those attributes. In his more demonic form his eyes remain orange-yellow and are cat eyes. He also had long bat like wings that have a big talon on them, black horns, fangs, and his body becomes even more muscular.
