The Tale
The elders tell us that Pyxis has eyes in the stars. That, in fact, all the Old Gods were up there. They would gesture towards the night sky and motion towards the different constellations, the seats of the Old Gods that would wax and wane as the seasons came and went. Their numerous tales told of how, while all the Old Gods would manifest in our sky at various times, Pyxis kept a pair of eyes always bright and vigilant above us.*
Pyxis, the Old God of warmth and flame, was watching us. All our feats of triumph and defeat, of anguish and jubilation, were witnessed by her watchful gaze. And while we mourned or rejoiced Pyxis instead let these emotions settle deep into her heart, for Pyxis is a devoted god and could not let our folly deter her from her work.
Because now the nights are cold and dark and at their longest. The sun is slumbering and while Pyxis is at work to awaken it her presence is distant, draining the warmth from this world and from those she has blessed. Her work is at its hardest, now. Certainly, now more than ever she can afford no distraction.
And yet her eyes above us are shining at their brightest. Furthermore, those eyes have begun to weep.
The elders told us stories of moments like this. When, in the depth of her work, Pyxis would find herself brimming with the emotion that she had held in her heart from watching our lives and would begin to weep. Our celebrations would manifest in tears of joy. Our tragedies in tears of despair. Tears of bitterness. Of bliss. Surprise. Relief. All that we have done, all that Pyxis has seen, will fall through the sky like stars dislodging from the heavens.
Their tales would even tell us that, if we so desired, we could even seek out these Tears of Pyxis. But they would also advise us to take heed and reflect. What sort of tears did our personal actions spur Pyxis to weep? And if we found them, would they be boons or curses?
The Fallen Star
A blueish, purpleish stone, translucent in nature with what appears to be a light source tucked deep within it. It is incredibly warm to the touch but not uncomfortably so, smooth along most surfaces, and impossible to break or chip. The light, which steadily pulsates and swirls, seems to react strongly to Wisps and Ethereal born under Pyxis; moving a bit more erratically when either are near.

• Event Duration: November 26th - January 1st
• World Setting: Daylight hours are limited, with night seeming to last an eternity. A meteor shower fills the sky no matter the hour and can be seen all across the land. From time to time, a ball of light will fall away from the backdrop, spiral until it is lit by fire, before colliding with the earth. While far too small to set a forest ablaze, they do manage to hold their warmth long after impact. Those lucky enough to track the object inevitably come across a tiny crater and tucked within it, a blue rock with a glowing center.
• Event Effects: All Ethereal under Pyxis' blessing experience a weakening in their power threshold. Only passive abilities for these wolves are functioning for the remainder of the event! Nearing a fallen star seems to increase their connection to Pyxis... but only temporarily. Wisps might find themselves unable to resist the call of a Fallen Star, drawn to their location where they linger like moths to a flame. Collecting stars ICly often leaves one feeling a sudden wave of emotion that may or may not be their own. How strongly or weakly this emotion is felt is entirely up to you, as is what emotion is provoked.

Game Mechanics
• Players collect Fallen Stars by participating and/or winning various events hosted by staff members. Some of these games might be more involved than others, which means some will be worth more stars!
• Some games will have their own channels in which you are to play in. Once winners are announced and the game concluded, they will be moved to Archive. We ask that you do not alter your posts once they've been moved! We will be using them to cross reference wins.
• Every one(1) Fallen Star represents one(1) raffle ticket! The raffle prizes are a secret, and we will roll for winners on or after January 1st, 2021. Each player will receive one free fallen star upon signup.
• Most of these games will pop up randomly throughout the duration of the event and can range from simple non-roleplay to roleplay prompts, so keep your eyes on the event channels especially!

How to participate
• Sign up via the appropriate channel! You can do this at any time. # event-signup
• Keep tabs of your own wins! We know this can get a little tricky, but we are gonna play the honest game here and ask that everyone keep track of how they obtained their star and their overall total. Please see #fallen-star-claim for more information! If we catch anyone cheating, we slam the disqualification hammer on ya.
• You may only claim your free Fallen Star once. Breaking this rule could result in disqualification from all ******** events.
• Once you've signed up, follow the rules of individual game modes presented by staff.
• Keep things fair, fun, and be kind! If we catch anyone guilting, bullying, or otherwise being a nasty person you will be disqualified.

• We expect everyone to abide by Ayrea's (formally "Kells") shop rules. Anyone found breaking these standard guidelines will be disqualified.

• You must keep tabs of your own star count. We will do our best to manage it via the Points Bot but it'll help us if you know your own totals as well!

Things of note
• This event is FREE! You do not have to pay anything in order to participate.
• Yes, your characters can ICly come across the Fallen Stars, but only those won in an official game will be counted towards the raffle!
• The stones are only responsive to Wisps and Pyxis born Ethereal. Everyone else can collect them but will find that they're primary use is for warmth and admiration. That being said, Wisps and the aforementioned Ethereal only seem to observe heightened activity from within the stone and find that they are closer to burning when touched; which does not seem to phase either species.

What Will The Stars Remember of Us? Dec 17th - Dec 18th
Life here on Ayrea is not always easy for everyone. Some manage to thwart struggle and strife at every turn while others seem to meet it in their stead. And sometimes life is easy, a gentle breeze spread across a day, a week, a month, a year. At the end of it all what you're often left with is a memory. A fleeting, malleable recollection that can be a great, many things. But most importantly, you're left with something to reflect on and, hopefully, find purpose in long after time has moved on.
Prompt:
It is time to reflect on what the past year(s) have looked like for your character! You can focus on just the past year, or all that they've lived; totally up to you! You're more than welcome to 'make it up' if they haven't been RPed in a bit, and feel free to take whatever perspective works for you. Maybe this is what they would have hoped for in life, but instead got something different? Maybe it was the life they wanted! Outside of what is mentioned below, there are no real rules here!
Quick Note:

• Pick only one character that you own to respond to this post!
• 300 words minimum! No max or posting format.
• Any references you want to make to another character that you do not own must be approved by the other player first, unless an RP has been made that can confirm the experience.
• If your character did not travel officially into Irithyll at some point throughout the year they cannot claim to have been there, but characters who were in Irithyll can say they left. We haven't been keeping up on that as much as we should so feel free to have had your character leave the veil during one of the two opportunities available. Fester was sleeping in the tall grass and woke up to rustling of the leaves and opened his eyes. The stars seem to shine bright tonight. It sparkled and had a crow like shape. He had never seen anything like it before. And wondered while he was looking up, wondered if the rest of his family was seeing it too....
He remembered playing with his siblings and often running past Venom's legs to shield himself from his brothers' playful attacks. He remembered being quite happy with all of them together. But somewhere over time they had drifted apart and went on their seperate ways. He;d still see his mom and dad once in a while and lately, with having found his brother Taint again, the pup in his once again surfaced. He knew he had grown a lot. He could see it from looking at his big paws in front of him as he stared down at them. And by licking his teeth with his tongue, most were sharp and strong since he could crush bones with them now. Before his puplike teeth only managed to snap twigs and branches.
Nevertheless, he was and is still is content with the path he had chosen. Meeting his brother sure made his current life much happier. He wanted to know so much more about him but knew that only time can reveal what Taint was doing all this time. He is excited to tell him he was part of the monster hunter quests too. And wish his brother could meet Kale one day. That wolf is so big and so recognisable, maybe his brother had already met him. Whatever the case, Fester found out that he loved to go on quests and go out hunting for specific things. He had gotten stealthier like his dad and wish to meet him again too so he could improve on his sneak attacks. He never knew when his dad was around before he appeared. Fester wanted to be that sneaky like his dad.
So tonight he got up, and walked over to the pond. Stealthily as he could, he laid low and waited for the right moment to attack with his paw to strike a fish out of the pond. He wanted fresh fish but they needed to be caught with agility. The young wolf was still determined to better himself after all this time. Even when he had learned so much already, he wanted to become a better predator and a better hunter. maybe... he thought... maybe i can convince Taint to hang around longer so we can hunt together... and at that moment he striked quickly at a wild fish.

Game Duration: December 1st - Whenever there is one character left
High above you the tail of a falling star fades back into the darkness of the night sky. The light had streaked past with surprising speed and it seems like you looked up seconds too late to have seen the direction in which the star was falling. Just as you begin to turn away, however, the sky illuminates again. And again. And then again once more…
Many stars are falling in quick succession and in the same direction. Could it be that they are all landing in the same vicinity? You are not too far away from where they might have gone. You have a chance to track down this impressive collection of stars.
Your actions from here had better be quick and they had better be smart. Surely you were not the only one to get tipped off to this boon…

Every 48 hours a new prompt will be posted containing different routes your character can pursue to find the cluster of Fallen Stars. Their choice must be accompanied by an RP post. The Next Round Starts: December 3rd, 7pm PST
The sky above you settles once more into relative darkness. It seemed as though the sky had been lit for an eternity, with one illuminating star falling after another. Having counted in your head with bated breath, it seems as though no less than ten stars have hit the ground.
[Looking back, the information that was once here feels a little fuzzy...] It's not terribly far, but not without a bit of a trek. A dense forest lies between you and the prize. It is dark and thick and run through by small waterways.
The air around you is cold and the breeze is biting. The world seems silent. Eerily so. What is going through your mind? And what do you choose to do next?
Option A: Go directly into the forest in the direction of the fallen stars
Option B: Follow a river that is snaking through the forest

Response: It happened all so fast. One moment the sky was being super bright and the next moment he was in total darkness. Fester howled at the sky and watched the whole scene above him. Before the darkness came, he spotted falling stars hit the earth of Kells. He wasn't quite sure how many he saw. maybe 5 or 6 or more....
His curiosity made him want to find them. Just one of them will do, he thought. Looking up, he saw the sparkles in the sky as if they were guiding him.. Hinting him where to go ...
The air was cold enough, and, he didn't need more coldness like the entire river to drop his body temperature down... He rather run through the forest to stay warm and in hopes to locate the stars...

The Next Round Starts: December 5th, 7pm PST

As you head towards the forest the plants around you start to become taller and denser. First its some shrubbery here and there that brushes up to your shoulders, to saplings that gingerly reach above your head, until finally you find towering trees on every side of you. You are not familiar with this particular neck of the woods, and the smells around you are unfamiliar. The air here is damp and cool. Mosses cover the trunks of thick trees and dense layers of foliage covers the ground.
It occurs to you that the nature of the woods split off ahead. To one side, shorter plants dominate and the ground cover is thick and difficult to traverse, but the trees above are sparse and you can make out the sky above.
On the other side, the ground is clearer, and the only obstacles are the tall trees. The canopy above this area is heavy with limbs and the night sky above is occluded from view.
Your stops slow to a stop as you debate which direction to go. As you are about to settle on your decision, though, a rustling sound can be heard a little ways away coming from your left side.
What do you choose to follow?
Option AA: Go to the right, following the path that is difficult to traverse
Option AB: Go to the straight, following the path that is easy to cross

Response: As he marched on, he stayed in the shadows and swiftly made a run for it. Sticking closely besides the trees, he felt the thickness of the air clamp onto his fur.
Moving through this particular forest itself has become a challenge too as everything was so dense and some things had grown so tall. Whatever water they're leeching off of, these plants were growing wilder than usual, he observed...
Fester came to a short halt as he saw many paths to choose from but in the end, as he looked up at the night sky, he knew he needed the guiding stars in the sky to aide him...
Exploring this unknown area through the dark without light and without a sense of direction did not feel comforatble to him at all. And the noises coming from within the shadows sounded too spooky for him to investigate right now. He didn't find any hiding spots either if he were to face another wolf or enemy, so he pressed on in a hurry and tramples over the short plants below his feet.

The forest and the river meet ahead. The path before you becomes tight and close. Each time you take a step it seems like the plant life around you tries to grab at your legs and hold tight. They reach higher and higher until it feels like you're wading through bushes. Like some sort of shallow sea.
The opening in the sky takes you and a winding, twisting path and after a short while you become suddenly aware that you no longer recognize the stars ahead of you, nor can you discern what direction you're headed. Drat.
You take a moment to center yourself. As you close your eyes and take a deep breath. A few things come to your senses…
You can faintly sense an unfamiliar scent. It seems like something passed through this area not long ago.
You see something up in the trees. Something sparkly.
Option AA: Follow the scent.
Option AB Follow the sparkles and try to climb the tree.
Option AC: Turn back the way you came and try to find your direction.

With a heavy sigh, he did not want to tangled in the tall bushes and tall grass. He sighed again as he lost sight of the stars in the sky. Closing his eyes to calm himself down and letting his instinct guide him further, he knew climbing up trees won't get him anymore nor going back. The more time he spends in the current location the more he will get lost...
Fest pressed on, ears flattened onto his head, he started to move like a predator with his whole body lowered. Almost as if the tall grass was his shield as he moved on. His wolf nose picked up an unfamiliar scent as he waded through the thick grass and bushes...Perhaps this scent could lead him back on track? if not, he will just have to fight whatever it was up ahead...

You follow the scent. It starts out faint and slowly becomes stronger. Maybe whoever you're following is on the same quest and can show you the way?
You continue into the forest and sure enough you find that the trail in front of you widens until it's passable again. At the same time, though, the scent you're following is becoming fainter and fainter…
Still, at least the trail you've found is passable, no?
Confident that you're back on the right track, you start to notice the sound of movement through the canopy in the distance. The sound gets louder and closer and you start to think that whatever is causing it is coming directly towards you…
Option AA: Duck into the bushes and hide until the source of the sound passes

Response: Fester grunted and huffed knowing the scent kept fading and reappearing as he marched on. It was not until he heard a direct sound just slightly to the right of him rustling in the bushes...Was someone else on the same trail as him? Perhaps it could be the big Monster Hunter wolf himself? Wanting to stick to that optimistic scenerio, he ran forward as he bared his teeth in attack mode.

A pair of owls land in a low branch ahead of you. They both peer at you. One lowers it head to get a closer look.
"Well this isn't what I was excepting, Anywhere," says the low, grumping voice of the owl.
"Most certainly not, Nowhere," says the other, in a light and lilting tone.
"This is certainly not that little thief," Nowhere says, turning his head up in annoyance.
Anywhere looks at him and you think you can see a bit of affection in her expression. She turns her attention back towards you. "I apologize for my mate. A gift I gave him was recently stolen from us and he is rather… cross." Her words are followed by an emphatic 'harumph' from Nowhere.
"We were tracking the little fiend when, low and behold, we find a wolf instead! We don't often see your kind in this neck of the woods. What brings you here?"
"Not hunting those stars, are you?" Nowhere grumbles, squinting his eyes at you and giving you another good looking over.

Response: His teeth were bared and he was ready to fight, ready to meet a wild wolf or a wild bear. But it slightly took him off guard when out of nowhere, he spotted two owls just finished perching onto a tree branch up ahead. Were they the ones making the noise in this area or was it something else...?
Fester shook his head, it didn;t make any sense. Why would a pair of owls be here of all places? He had no time to waste. He wanted to see where those stars are that landed nearby but seemed to be many moons away at this rate.....
The wolf sighed deeply. almost disappointed in a way, but he refuses to let his guard down at all with these strangers. "What brings YOU TWO HERE, is the better question," he said in an angrier than normal tone, "I am exactly what you think I am doing. Hunting those stars." With nothing to lose, except a fight if they both attacked him at once, the adventurous wolf told them the honest truth.
"Who is this thief you speak of, anyway?" he asked them back in return, not really knowing what they are really after.

Nowhere puffs his feathers when you speak to him, seemingly offended by your tone. He opens his beak to speak but is shushed by his mate who nudges him with a paw.
"Oh Nowhere, I like how spunky this one is. Reminds you off those Hunters that Kale keeps sending our way, no?"
The male 'humphs' in response, and Anywhere seems to take that as a legitimate answer somehow.
"Anyway. Don't worry yourself about our issues. That pesky little thing is probably long gone by now," Anywhere laments with a sigh, "I think it sounds like a grand idea to tag along on your little quest! What do you think, Nowhere?"
The male owl leers down at you thoughtfully before giving a little noise of affirmation. "I appreciate the honestly, I suppose." He looks upwards. "So. What are we looking for?"
Prompt The owls want to help! But they need some direction. Post a RP response as normal, but instead of putting anything in "Route," DM me as much of the following information as you can remember: The Direction of the stars, The shape of the constellation they fell under, and The Landmark in the distance in the direction that they fell. Response: Fester puffed his chest when he saw Nowhere puff. It was an instinctive thing for him to do. Make himself look bigger than his enemy. For a brief second he did wonder what Nowhere was going to say...
What really got him confused was when the owls both wanted to help him find the fallen stars???
The wolf wagged his tail trying to piece the puzzle together but couldn't come up with an answer. Having new friends tag along seems beneficial since they can scout the vast sky, but in the back of his mind he was worried they both might make so much noise that their position can be given away if other wolves are hunting and searching for the same thing as him......
Nodding his head slowly, he only wanted optimistic outcomes and accepted their offer. "We...are looking for the fallen stars! They shine and sparkle and some of them fell THIS WAY. Do you two want to come along to see them up close? I am very certain that they are scattered over there."

The stars fell to the North(1)west(1). The constellation was shaped like a bird(1), specifically a crow(1). The Bluestone Mountains (1) are in the distance.
The pair of owls listen to your description with thoughtful attention.
"I think we can work with that," Anywhere calls with a smile. "Come, little star hunter. We'll lead your way."

The owls lead your way, Anywhere flying up where she can see the sky and guiding you as Nowhere leads you down dense and twisting paths. Finally, you see the forest break. The open air brings a return of the brisk breeze and the open air. The stars are shining bright, here.
Ahead of you, the terrain turns into rocky foothills.
"I think I see them!" Anywhere calls up ahead, perched on a tall rock. She points up the rocky incline, "Come with me!"
"No, no," Nowhere calls back. "There's no way you could make it up that incline. Come with me down this way! I know a better path."

Response: Ah the open terrain and fresh air really hit the spot now. He had chased after the owls as they lead the way. While he ran he reminisced about his hunting days with his own mother and siblings.
When they halted, Fester quickly looked up into the sky. The stars sparkled so brightly that he didn't want to lose track of them again. The crow shape was very noticeable now in the open area. He stood up on his hind legs and reached up with a right paw, trying to paw the stars down. He was having fun until he got interrupted by the owls and to stay focused again.
Whimpering at the tough choices up ahead, he paved back and forth knowing that both options were really good. With a loud groan, he decided to follow Anywhere. Besides, his mom knew how to climb mountains. Now it's his turn to test his own limits. What if Kale had went this way? he asked himself. The birds did mention his name...
"Wait up!" he shouted after Anywhere. He also really wanted to follow Nowhere too but thought that maybe going uphill can save himself some time......... ?

As you follow Anywhere, the terrain around you becomes sparse. The shrubbery shrinks in size and you find that you can see a great deal of the landscape around you.
