- Leslie's new body is harder and stronger than one made from flesh and bone, but when damaged, has a tendency to shatter. They can be put back together, though they do lose conscious if enough of their body becomes shattered.
They no longer require food or air, and can operate in temperatures far more extreme than most organic beings can handle.
Leslie has considerable magical knowledge and skill, but is currently unable to utilize it.

Personality |
- Leslie is very passionate about their work, and is more than willing to talk at lengths about anything literature related. While their previous work is a bit of a sore spot, it is possible to get a lecture about it out of them about crystals and magic as well.
Leslie believes that all of their students have the potential to do something great, and can be a little hard on all of them, pushing them to do their best. While they still take some dumb risks themself, they’ve become a bit of stickler for safety rules when it comes to others. That doesn’t quite matter much in a literature classroom, but they are the type to tell students to stop running in the halls.
Leslie isn’t a very expressive person, and can come off as cold, though they always try to be polite and kind. They have a sarcastic sense of humor that begins to show as they open up to people. As they become more attached a person, they can become somewhat clingy and jealous.
History |
- Leslie Edevane grew up in Dalery, a southern Aestonian town, not too far from the border to Summermount. Most people from Dalery ended up working in the mines it was home to, though Leslie had somewhat higher ambitions. They’d read a lot of books as a child, and considered their education to be pretty important. Rather than ending up as a miner, Leslie wanted to be a writer.
They had a rare knack for magic, and knew it was their ticket out of Dalery. After frequent arguments throughout their childhood, Leslie ended up learning alchemy and magic having to do with the earth and crystals, and helping in the mines until they were old enough to go to college.
When they were 16, Leslie left for a nearby college where they studied magic as well as literature. While their passion for literature was something they held dear, Leslie couldn’t ignore their talent for magic, and ended up focusing on it instead. After graduating, they had trouble finding work, and ended up doing independent research. They sold the results of their work: crystals that enhanced magic, had use in divination, or other useful applications. Leslie figured that once they got comfortable, they could dedicate more time to trying to write, but never had the chance to get started.
Leslie’s laboratory didn’t exactly follow all of the proper safety procedures, and in an attempt to to transmute a certain type of crystal, Leslie made a foolish mistake and ended up being turned entirely to crystal. They were unconscious for 62 years, frozen like a statue, before eventually waking up.
Leslie had a handful of harsh realizations in a relatively short period of time after waking up. Knowing mostly other humans, quite a few of Leslie's friends had died. Their work had also been discovered during their time as a statue. Their work became pretty influential, but due to their discoveries being expanded upon and refined, Leslie's current knowledge of crystal magic and alchemy would be considered pretty rudimentary by today's standards. Not that it mattered with their new body.
Leslie quickly realized that their new body was very different from their old one. Eating was no longer necessary, or even comfortable. Their new body was harder and stronger, though somewhat brittle. While they could be put back together, they broke easily. To make things worse, Leslie had been robbed of their ability to perform magic.
Leslie was without magic, which meant they no longer had any way to support themself. The only other thing they had any knowledge of was literature. After holing up in a library for a few weeks catching up on the most influential books from the past 60 years, they applied at QCA to be the new librarian and Aestonian Literature teacher.
