History :Moonlit Snowfall had an unfortunate beginning.
xxxxHe was the only pup to survive in his litter, one by one they passed as the months went on after their birth, his mother growing increasingly agitated as the runty albino son surpassed his siblings in health and age. When the last of his siblings passed his mother shunned him, believing him to be the cause and a curse on her for misdeeds. The winter was beginning to set in and snow began to cover the ground as he wandered, slowly growing stronger out of necessity and survival. He learned to listen for the crunch of snow under rabbit's feet or the rustle of a crow feeding in a bush. He became a passable hunter in his young age and, though still smaller than most pups his age, he began to get stronger and more confident with each kill.
xxxxThe winter grew harsh and it became quickly apparent that he would not survive on his own. He began his search for a pack he could integrate into for a time, though he was rather untrusting of others due to his mother's treatment of him. He trudged through snow that slowly built it's way up to his chest as his search continued. His prey became scarcer and he began to feel the pangs of hunger, stronger than he ever had, and the cold reality of his survival began to hang heavy over his head. Still he searched, straining his nose and ears for the sound or scent of other wolves. He came upon a den very eager to get out of the cold and shake some of the snow out of his fur. The scent of other wolves hung heavy in the air setting him on edge but the temporary relief from the chilly air; he curled up just inside of the den trying to stay alert but swiftly falling into the deepest sleep he'd had in more moons than he could remember.
xxxxHe awoke to a strange scent filling his nostrils and upon opening his eyes he saw thick black and salted fur layering over his white. He lept up, hackles raised and letting out a short growl. The larger black shape awoke and shushed the uppity pup, standing and stretching the cold out of his old bones. He placed a paw on the pups back in an effort to smooth his fur back down and show he was safe and walked further back into the den, looking over his shoulder to ensure the Moonlit Snowfall was following him. As Moon's eyes adjusted to the dark in the back of the den he was greeted with a sad sight and one he understood too well. An old grey-flecked female was curled in the corner, her chest no longer rising with life. A wave of sympathy washed over him and he followed closer to the old male who had lost his mate. Opposite the female's body was a partially eaten deer carcass that the male nudged him towards. Moon ate until the hunger received but stopped before he overindulged, not wanting to take what little the old, seemingly mute, male had left for himself.
xxxxHe lived with the old male through the end of the winter as the snow melted and grass returned the ground to an emerald hue. He helped him lay his mate to rest now that the ground was soft enough to dig into and learned the tactics to take down larger prey. He grew into a strong and caring pup, now older and learning what he could from the older male. He grew worried as the male began to slow down, hunting became more of a chore and Moonlit found himself bringing smaller game back to the den more often than not now as his mentor was struggling to help hunt, let alone hunt for himself. Summer brought heat and with it sadness for the young pup. He awoke to the sun one morning to find his mentor had slipped away to the forest in the night. He knew what that meant. He was alone again. He silently thanked the old male for his knowledge and care and took one last look at the den that had been his temporary solace from the harshness of life and set off to find a new dawn for himself once again.

If you talk to her long enough perhaps some truth may slip out among the lies, validated by a 'hurrumph' from the crow, False, always perched on her head or hopping and swooping along her side as she moves. Truthfully you may have better luck asking the bird...

One thing is certain, her distaste of males runs deep, an allowance here and there can be found of course, but it seems fewer males return from her patrolled areas in the swamp than females...

History : False fell from the nest as a young bird, injuring his wing as a permanent injury. He was found by True who decided to take him in, moon knows why, and nurse him back to health. If asked she replies something about fattening him up. They had lived closer to the forest when he was a chick, hopping haphazardly behind the strange female he'd become bonded to.

As time passed True was chased out of territories and run off by rogue wolves until she and her crow, whom she referred to as Almost-Dinner almost exclusively, found a dying tree that had been knocked over some time in the past. False watched the wolf dig her way under the upturned roots and soon mud, dirt, and grass scraps began flying out from under the gnarled tree corpse.

He called this tree his home now, keeping an eye on his odd-wolf companion. She had dug into the soft rotting bark under the mud, clearing out a decent sized den from the tree's rotted core, with plenty of nooks and crannies for False to nest in. Here he was safe to hop along the ground, the tips of his right wing dragging along the ground ever so slightly.
