However, he hadn't seen her in over a week now, and he thought perhaps it was time to make good on his own promise of visiting her instead.

He was pretty sure he didn't need an excuse to come by and just hang out for a bit, but he did have one at the ready! See, he had gone to get the concrete bloke made for the gemstone crab, and while talking to the builder phony, a question had come up of if he was just going to keep a cube of plain concrete up front plain or was he planning to decorate it in some form. Now Lettuce had no problem keeping a plain bloke, the frost was cover by the shop's sign, and the crab Water was making was the reason behind it. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut....it couldn't hurt to ask the artist herself if she thought that perhaps having the bloke decorated in some way might be a good idea.....After all, this was kinda a share vision and Lettuce should get her opinion, yes sirree.

And so with his hover bracelets slapped on, and a satchel with some tile samples and sketches slung around his neck, Lettuce made his way over to the sisters' gem store.

Water was intent on the task at hand. She was under water, turning over shells and stones in the search of gems that formed in the water. She had a pouch that had a few stones of orange and red around her tail, and she wore goggles the zoomed in to see the really small glimmers of gemstones among the corals.

Satisfied with her haul, she went for the surface. She exited the hole in the floor that opened into the main part of her workroom, ringing the water out of her shorter mane.

Hover bracelets donned, she began to work, pulling out the stones and placing them in order by clarity.

Geode flit about as she worked on her newest creation, a prism chandelier! She’d asked Water to find some opals and mother of pearl to decorate the main body as it would continue with the rainbow effect he’d wanted. It wasn’t an order, merely something she had invisioned and felt the need to create. And who better to help make her vision possible than her lovely sister! Water had a knack for finding gemstones while Geode turned them into art! She could see the creation in her mind but it was Water who helped draw it out. Which helped their poor clients during explanation. She even wore jeweler’s glasses as she carefully put the sparkly stones in precise order around the edges of the metal frame.

Her ear flicked as she hear the telltale sound of water splashing, knowing Water had returned from her underwater adventure. “Hiiiiiiiio Waaaaaaaaater!” She called out, “Like did you find anything radical? I am SO amped about this new piece!!”

Geode tried to get Water to talk more, knowing her sweet sister was shy except around her. So she tried to bring up conversations in the shop where customers might hear. Granted Geode was still pretty loud most of the time she still tried.

Lettuce's ears twitched several times as he stepped inside the shop, recognizing Geode's brand of over the top. Even thought he had only met her once, briefly, a long time ago. Geode just was the kind of phony that made an impression. A strong one. Specially to someone like him, who subscribed to a much more chill vibe.

Either way, the girls seemed to be discussing something, so Lettuce decided to entertain himself by browsing the displayed gemstones and art pieces. No need to rush them, after all, he had all day.

Water heard her sister, and smiled, popping her head around the corner and shouting back "Ohmahgawd you wouldn't BELEIVE the stones I found!" she floated around the corner with a big grin and a final flick of her damp mane.

"I didn't see a whole lot of blue ones." she went on to say "but these orange ones are like, the most rad color. If you don't use them for the chandelier, I'm totally using them for Lettuce's crab. They remind me...anyway, they are the PERFECT shade of orange!" they reminded her of his eyes actually, but she wasn't gonna say that to her sister! That'd be way too embarrassing!

Geode hadn't heard the bell ring for her shop, which wasn't all that surprising given the loudness she normally practiced. So Lettuce had a good amount of time to check out the shop. Stones were cleaned and polished in little baskets for those looking to make something themselves or if someone used them for spiritual purposes. The other objects were different items either totally covered in gems or tastefully accented. Some were complete geodes, cut in half and polished for decoration. Some had been turned into laps or even coasters for the coffee table! There was a little something for everyone!

As Water appeared around the corner she fluttered over from her work and looked over the stones. "Oh. My. GAWD! How do you always fine the perfect stones! You are the bomb!" She looked over the orange stones, turning them in her hooves. "Totally! Like after you like, give them a good clean and polish they will reflect sunlight. So at sunset or sunrise it will glow like a cooked crab! Radical!!"

Lettuce tried not to listen to the conversation, but the volume made that an impossible task. He looked at a few shards, finding the variety of shades of one single color quiet fascinating. Some of the stones he could name, but he guess the rest of them he had not idea what they were called were likely from dryland places.

He eventually made his way to the front counter, resting his hooves up on it as he crane his head a bit higher to try to spot what the two sisters were working on. Whatever a chandelier was, it sounded fascinating

The bluenette squealed. "oh my gawd I KNOW! They're gonna be GORGEOUS." She heard a shuffle from the front and peeked around her sister. Someone was out there.

"Sis hold that thought, someone's here." she said, floating over the the counter. "I'll go see if there's something we can... Help... Them... With..."

Her voice got small, the last word barely a whisper as she saw who was there. How long had he been there? Did he hear her!?

Her face went white, then flushed red. "H-hi Lettuce!" she squeaked, waving shyly. "What are you.. Doing here?"

Geode smiled as her sister gushed over the stones. Really they were a perfect pair for this job. Then Water mentioned hearing a customer. The purple wonder when to put her jeweler’s glass away then flew over to hear her dear sister squeak.

She blinked at the peach merphony, thinking she recognized him. Then Water said his name. Oh!! Crab dude! He must be in to check on his order.

Then Geode took notice of Water’s behavior. Normally Water was quite shy but this was a new kind of shy, one she hadn’t seen before. Eye-shadow loner eyes squinted as she stayed quiet, listening.

Lettuce's eyebrows jumped up to his hairline. Okay, not the reaction he had been hoping for? Surprise? Sure, he had come unannounced, just like Stone did to the crab shack. I-want-to-die expression? No, not at all. Had he done something wrong?

"Hiya..." He answer slowly, feeling a bit thrown off. Stone always made him feel a bit shyer. "I was just, like, passing by to check on the..um...commission? Oh...and um, I just wanted, like, your opinion on something about the bloke." He shuffled his hooves. "...if you are not like busy..."

ohgoshohgosh he looked sad. Water made him sad! She shook her head and smiled sweetly at him. "No! No I'm not.. Busy. I was just surprised to see you.." surprised and oh so happy. She thought and blushed again. "I'm r-really glad to see you." she looked away, tracing a loop on the counter top.

"So they got the concrete block done? That's great! I've got the crab about halfway done. If you'd like... I could show you. It.. It's in the back." she waved a blue hoof at him, pointing around the counter. This was great! She got to spend some time with Lettuce, they could talk about the commission and not be awkward...

As she rounded to corner, she remembered Geode was home.

Oh lord her sister! Her eyes widened and she realized that her two worlds were about to combine.

Geode kept listen to the two talk, being unusually quiet. We she was capable of being quiet but rarely was. However this was....interesting. Water acted a different kinda shy around this Lettuce guy.

A guy. She's shy. Oh my FLY! Could it be, she wondered. She needed more dirt to see if things were on the level with the idea. Which meant they needed to talk more. But Geode doubted her sister would talk as much if she were there, mostly because Geode would do so much talking. Really she couldn't help it!

So she hatched a plan. "Waaaaaaaaater! Hey sis I'm gonna go dig though some of the prisms for the chandelier, I think it needs a few different shapes! Take care of the customer, KBYE!"

The pegasus flitted off to their gem storage, the place where not for sale gems were kept. These were raw gems and stones that hadn't been cut and polished yet, perfect for molding into the piece they would need. Also from here she could hear anything the two were saying.

Lettuce smiled, feeling quiet reassure he hadn't messed up by coming unannounced. He was about to answered when Geode shouted from the back and he chuckled softly. "She has quiet the set of lungs."

Shaking his head with a good humor, he grinned. "Well, the bloke is like doing something call 'curing'. It's a fancy shmancy way of saying it's like drying? The builder phonies at the company asked if I was gonna decorated it, and I thought, like, I should ask your opinion. Cause you um are the artist making the thing, so you like know what would like look best." He blushed a bit, feeling like he was babbling again. "But, yeah, like I would love to see how the crab is coming along."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:03 pm

Geodes voice echoed out across the shop, and she winced a little. Her sister was so much louder than her, but when Lettuce laughed, she giggled herself. "Yeah she's the louder of us for sure. Maybe it's a land phony thing." she breathed a sigh of relief that she wasn't going to have to mediate their meeting yet.

Made sense the worker wanted to know now. "yeah if you're doing like, designs in the concrete itself you want to carve them in while it's still a little wet. Other stuff can be put on after."

She showed him to the workroom, and open space with big windows and piled of boxes. Gems shine from shelves arranged by color, and various completed projects were hanging on the walls and sitting waiting to be priced. Lamps, coasters, necklaces and bracelets.

On Water Stones workbench sat the crab. The center shell was one large orange stone and wires stuck out where the arms would be. Two legs were completed, gems of various oranges connected together and being held in place with wire hanging from the ceiling. Two black tourmaline eyes glittered between the makeshift claws. The whole thing would end up the size of an adult phony when it was finished.

"So what do you think? I know crabs come in different colors, but I figured that the orange would stand out and it kinda matches you so yeah..." She trailed off, waiting for his reaction.

Staring around at the different in-progress projects as Lettuce followed after her, his eyes widening in excitement at seeing the large crab. "This is so cool, Water, like so damn awesome! I think the color choice is great, it'll really stand out against the sand and the water. Like just wicked cool thing everyone's gotta see!"

Lettuce put his pack down and dug out some tile samples and some papers with carving designs in them. "So um the builder phonies gave me these as options...." The carvings designs were of sea shells, and there was another that look like a pattern of fossilized sea creatures. The tiles were all small and colorful combos in different designs, however a lot of them seem to have a lot of more blue shades then any other color.
