Day #32 Theme: Masquerade, Fashion: Victorian, Ballroom
Comments: I had a hard time with the dress, since most Victorian dresses have a lot fluff in the underskirt, but I wanted it to be open in the front to fit with the...theme. So I based the design off this dress I found when looking for Victorian style gowns. So the idea is that the petticoat/underskirt is just on the sides supporting the dress. I wanted to put more people in like it was a ball/party masquerade type gathering but I finally got done with her dress and such and didn't feel like adding all the other detail. I might revisit this piece on another day.

(click on image for full size)
Comments: Got a late start cuz I'm sick. I may or may not do the other two I was planning, we'll see.... For now I'm submitting Ako~
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Piece 2 (submitted after deadline)
Comments: I don't know if anyone else saw Glass in theaters yet.
(note: the following is not movie spoilers, i am just putting it in spoilers cuz it's a sappy story about my husband taking me to the movies that has nothing to do with the art)
So I was curious about Split when it came out, not realizing it was part of a trilogy. My husband was meh about it, but he watched it with me after it came out on bluray, and at the end when they reveal that it was the followup to Unbreakable, he was like "oh damn wut?!" and I didn't get it so then he made me see Unbreakable (cuz I never saw it) and I was like "oh damn niiiccceee" and so I was really excited for the third movie (Glass) to come out. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, I had forgotten that Glass came out in January. Hubby and I had to run some errands around where we're moving to, we decide to stop by "our" property while we're nearby, but suddenly he goes the wrong direction? Ok....I'm confused at this point and thought he forgot to take the right turn, no he assures me he knows where he was going. THAT BOY. TOOK ME TO THE MOVIE THEATER. TO GO SEE GLASS. It is rare that my husband can surprise me lately (he does try though) cuz I know most of his tricks. but he LEGIT surprised me with this and I was so caught offguard in such a good way I almost cried cuz I was so happy. I know that seems silly but it was just.... My husband is way too sweet crying
Ugh the movie was soooooo gooooooooooood. Casey and Kevin are so cute together in a weird complicated way. I'm not gonna spoiler anything but I very very much recommend going to see the movie if you liked either of the first two. It was very well done~
I had a hard time with Casey's face cuz I filled in the hair first like a knucklehead stressed I actually had to post edit this image a bit cuz I made her too big in proportion to him. Maybe I'll revisit this as a digital painting? idk
Comments: will scan tomorrow when I'm on my comp. It's supposed to be part of my bath house piece but I'm too tired to draw up a mock up. In other news, we pretty much own our property now, today was the closing date~

Day #41 Theme: Collide
Comments: I really didn't know what to draw, then I saw pics of Monty (ako's cat) and looked at the themes with cats on the brain and then this happened. I lost my blue lines at some point and it's supposed to be cartoony but idk what I just drew x.x;
Comments: So there's this river at a nearby park with a bridge going over it, and I have an affinity for water. I had this piece in my head for a while, of a girl walking across a bridge over the river, but the water comes up and becomes a part of her, and breaks away with each step. I'm struggling rendering the idea in pencil, so I'm gonna give for now and maybe try to paint it or something later. I got way too involved in detailing the water to make it look like water and now it kinda just looks like a mess, and I'm not really sure how to draw the river now since the water is already super detailed.
