This Wednesday the family and I are heading out to see Mount Rushmore like we did many years ago but on Thursday we plan to detour over to Devils Tower in Wyoming. The trip is only a couple of hours outside our route back home and I have never seen it outside of movies like "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

Update: Devils Tower was not what I thought it would be. I thought it was a lone tower standing in the middle of a massive prairie but it is not alone as far as other mountains go. There are many other mountains less that 5 miles miles away. In fact we had to drive for like 20 miles through mountainous passes to get to where it was located in north eastern Wyoming.
