Dievas Physiology: Perun possesses all the various superhuman attributes of the Dievas, or Slavic gods. These include:
Superhuman Strength: Perun possesses vast superhuman strength of as yet unknown limit. However, he is one of the physically strongest of his race and can lift in excess of 100 tons.
Superhuman Stamina: Perun's musculature produces almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting him nearly limitless physial stamina in all activities.
Superhumanly Dense Tissue: Perun's skin, muscle, and bone tissue has about 3 times the density of the same tissue in the body of a human being. This contributes, somewhat, to Perun's superhuman strength and weight.
Superhuman Durability: Perun's body is considerably harder and more resistant to physical injury than the body of a human being, or most other Russian gods for that matter. Perun is capable of withstanding great impact forces, high caliber bullets, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, falls from great heights, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury.
Superhuman Reflexes: Perun's reaction time is enhanced to a level that is beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his high resistance to injury, it is still possible to injure Perun. If injured, he is capable of rapidly regenerating damaged tissue with far greater speed and efficiency than a human being. However, he is unable to regenerate missing limbs or organs.
Extended Longevity: Although not immortal, Perun ages at a pace considerably slower than that of human beings. He is also immune to all known Earthly diseases and infections.
Energy Projection: Perun is capable of channeling great quantities of electrical energies and focus them through various weaponry that he carries as powerful bolts of destructive energy on a level equal to Thor.
Weather Manipulation: Much like Thor, Perun has immense control over the weather, specifically to create and dispel storms, hurricanes, and tornados.
Expert Combatant: Perun, as a god of war, is a highly formidable hand-to-hand combatant, being perhaps the greatest warrior of the Dievas and possessing extensive training with swords, bows and arrows, hammers, and axes, the latter of which he seems to favor most. He is a very capable commander of forces in battle, and is considered the first line of the defense for his people should they or their former worshippers come under attack.
Allspeak: As a deity, Perun is capable of speaking and understanding every language in the Marvel Universe.
Character's Equipment/Tech: Perun possesses a winged stallion named Listovka (“Flyer”), and several weapons, the most prominent of which is his axe, Stormcaller, which has properties and abilities quite similar to those of Mjolnir, including allowing Perun to fly and levitate if he so chooses.
Character's Bio: Perun is a Dieva, one of the gods of the Slavs and Balts.
Born to Svarog, Skyfather and King of the Dievas, and his wife Lada in the realm of Svarga, Perun was raised during a time where the gods interacted openly with their worshippers, and spent much of his time moving between Svarga and Earth, operating in a manner much like his distant relative Thor Odinson— which was helped by the fact that the two had very similar societal positions, powers, prerogatives, and personality traits. Due to this, after Svarog distributed power amongst his sons, Perun usurped the largest share of this power in an attempt to gain his father’s favor. This led to Veles’ centuries-long enmity with Perun, much like how Loki has a hatred for Thor.
While on Earth, he presided over the Slavic peoples as they went through the Migration Period that led to the Fall of Rome, and was so popular amongst his worshippers that they mistakenly believed him to hold his father’s position as king of the pantheon; a notion he did not dissuade as various stories involving him were blown out of proportion to become myth, such as his enmity with his brother Veles.
Centuries later, moving between the various Slavic groups of Europe by the time of the Early Middle Ages, Perun led his worshippers and fellow Dievas in conflicts with other gods, including a fight against the Norsemen led by Thor. Accounts differ on what exactly happened, but at least some people believed that Perun and his fellow god Chernobog the Black perished in the fight.
By the year 980, King Vladimir the Great of Kievan Rus’ converted to Christianity, and tore down the hundreds of idols that had been made to the Dievas throughout his territory, including many of Perun himself. At Svarog’s command, the Dievas retreated back to their home of Svarga, where there have remained for the past thousand years, forsaking Earth in order to strengthen ties with other realms, with Perun having numerous adventures through them. During these centuries, Perun has also repeatedly acted in defiance of his father’s decree, returning to Earth at various points to protect the Slavic peoples, up to and including the invasion of Russia by the Mongols (which he failed to stop), and invasions by Napoleon and Nazi Germany, both of which were eventually successfully repelled.
Since then, Perun has not spent much time on Earth, but the convergence of many superpowered figures on the planet, including several of his kin such as Thor and Hercules, has caught his interest, and he may yet decide to become a full-fledged superhero.
