Located within the City Hall, the ballroom is where the city council hosts events and balls, especially for visiting dignitaries and officials as well as local balls.

Just as quickly as the mist devoured her, the whirling winds of the mist appeared and left a slightly confused Q’ara standing at the edge of a large dark hall illuminated only for a moment when the winds blew the drapes back. From what she could see, the hall was very large with several columns at both sides, and full walls surrounding the entire hall with beautiful ornate art lining them in between the columns. As the winds died down and the drapes covered the only light coming in the room, Q’ara brought her hand up and waved it for a moment, and a quick gale once more blew the drapes of the windows up, letting light come in briefly. The room seemed to be a large Ballroom of some sort though she wasn’t sure with what little light was present. Looking for the sources of light in the room, she noted several mounted candelabras on all of the columns lining the room, and snapped her fingers at one of them. The candles standing in the candelabra lit up and gave a small amount of light, enough for her to see the rest of the room. "Hmmm…" She let out with a light sigh before raising both of her hands in front of her. "Ilum Pyr Tamil…" Q’ara would say while making a swift motion with her hands, and all of the candles on all of the candelabras and the chandeliers, as well as all of the mounted lanterns lining the walls all around the hall lit up immediately, causing the whole room to light up brilliantly and reveal itself.

Q’ara had not been in this room before, it was the largest hall she had seen in Eoana, with a great ballroom floor that lined its base. There was a balcony on either side of the ballroom, the upper floor of the ballroom lining each side with giant windows that extended all the way to the ceiling. The base floor did not have any windows at all, instead all of the art lining all the walls could be seen clearly, accentuated by their positions in between the columns of the balconies. As she stepped around the room briefly, overlooking the large hall, Q’ara wondered why Rhysian had brought her there, slowly going over the possibilities in her mind. Not moments later, the winds picked up again, and the mist would appear bringing yet another to the room. The black mist swirled about making its presence known as usual, and Q’ara would cross her arms in front of her chest as the mist dissipated, leaving Varys standing in the hall a few yards away from Q’ara. "Huh," Q’ara would let out while nodding lightly, as she started to get an idea as to what was happening. "W-whats…. going on…?" Varys would let out reluctantly as he looked around the room and realized where he was. This was the Grand Ballroom of Eoana’s City Hall, one of the main function halls for events in the city. Varys looked on cautiously with narrowed eyes around the room before they fell upon the Lady Q’ara, one of the servants of Lord Rhysian who was also skilled in great magics. "D-did you bring me here?" He asked lightly, still taking great caution as he spoke and monitored his situation. 'Do they know?'

"No, it seems our Lordship brought us here…" Q’ara would say while placing her hands on her hips. At her words Varys took a breath, he couldn’t quite feel relieved just yet, but if he wasn’t the only one that was suddenly brought here, then perhaps he wasn’t in danger just yet. Moments earlier, Varys had been in talks regarding what they should do to ‘thwart’ Rhysian’s plans, so Varys was at his wit’s end suddenly being transported and teleported away without warning. He couldn’t help but think that he had somehow been ousted, perhaps they were spying on him from the very beginning. With Q’ara’s words, he decided to stay cautious and wait to see how everything played out. "Do you know why we were brought here?" He asked lightly, but before either of them could say anything more, the mist billowed up again, forming in two places across the ballroom floor, and just as quickly as they appeared and dissipated, suddenly both Tala and Philia were present in the room, along with another that neither Q’ara nor Varys recognized. Tala had appeared close to Varys, just a few yards away from Q’ara, Philia on the other hand appeared on the other side of the ballroom together with whom Q’ara could only assume was one of the nobles they would be presently expecting. Q’ara wasn’t quite sure why he had appeared with Philia, but the fact that Varys, Tala, and Philia along with herself were brought here could only mean one thing. "So it begins…"

"W-what?" Varys would suddenly let out, looking at Q’ara with surprise as he started to realize what was happening as well. "Now? Really?" Varys would say while crossing his hands in front of his chest, trying to his best to look as if he had been disturbed and annoyed, after all he was the Lord Marshal of Eoana. "Couldn’t my Lord have sent word first, I was in the middle of council meeting…" Varys said with contempt in his tone as he tapped his foot lightly. "That’s enough…" Q’ara would suddenly say, cutting him off and stepping towards him. "They’ll be here soon, you know what to do… You can start with him," Q’ara would say while nodding in the direction of the young Noble that had appeared with Philia. Varys would shake his head before turning away from Q’ara and starting to walk steadily towards the edge of the hall as if he didn’t want to deal with anyone just yet. The east side of the ballroom had two exits and there were normally guards posted at the end of the corridors entrance, so he made his way towards the exits, acting as if he had some business to attend to, or at least to send word of his inability to attend.

'Now?… NOW?... No…' He thought to himself while approaching the door, but when he got to the door, he couldn’t believe what he saw. 'No no no no…' Varys would think as he grabbed the door and tried to pull it open, knowing it would be futile. The doors were somehow fused to their frame, the accentuated metals of the door and trim were welded shut, as if they were a single piece. Without a thought, Varys started towards the second exit, and again cursed under his breath as he reached the door and found it sealed as well. 'No no no… It can’t start now, not now… I must warn Reynard…' Varys thought to himself as he silently cursed under his breath. What could he possibly do now? If all of the exits were sealed shut, he couldn’t very well try to break them, and nothing would look more suspicious if he tried the windows, especially since they were all on the upper floors. Looking back towards the room, Varys knew he was stuck. He had to play his part now more than ever, without drawing suspicion on himself, but even he had no idea what was to come. Sighing lightly, Varys steeled himself and returned to the ballroom floor to play his part. Steadily, he approached the young Noble, holding his hands out in a welcoming greeting. "Welcome, Young Lord, I am Richard Varys, Lord Marshal of Eoana, to whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

As Varys suddenly started to make his way towards the exits of the ballroom, Q’ara started towards the center of the room then, waving to Tala and Philia as she spoke. "It’s seems the time has finally come… You two! Quickly, come here!" She would say to Tala and Philia, waving for them to quickly come to her. "Something must have happened for my Lord to bring us all here in haste, and that means we haven’t a moment to lose," Q’ara would say as she spoke with them discreetly. Varys had just started to return to the ballroom floor, and as he introduced himself to the young Noble from earlier, Q’ara turned her back towards them and continued to speak with Tala and Philia. "Lord Rhysian has begun, there will be no turning back now, So prepare yourselves, they will all be here very soon, and that means…" Q’ara would say cutting herself off mid-sentence before she brought her hands up to her face, covering her face for a moment and then moving her hands slowly down the silhouette of her own body. Slowly, Q’ara suddenly started to age, until she had taken the form that the two of them would most recognize. The elderly woman that brought them to Eoana, the old witch…

                                  𝓑𝓪𝓫𝓪

"…we must be ready," Baba would say finishing the sentence she had cut short before. "Listen well Ta-la, Philia… Our Lordship put his trust in you, the first to serve him since his return, even though you hadn’t the slightest clue who it was you were serving. Our Lordship rewards those who are loyal, the fact that he brought you here makes it so," Baba would say as she spoke quickly, trying to explain at the very least what they should know to start, from here on out, they were to learn a great many truths, and they were being given the privilege of learning these truths, to continue their service. So she would tell them their place for now, the rest they would have to figure out on their own. "From here on out, you are Krea, of my noble house, of my noble Kin, understood?" Baba would say while looking from one to the next, giving a very stern and serious look to them both. "Steady yourselves, and steel your nerves, this will be unlike anything you have dealt with before, these are high Nobles of Valor he has summoned, Noble houses… who were once loyal to our Lordship… and now that he has returned," She would say giving them a contemplative expression as if she wanted them to figure out and understand their Lordship’s intent on their own. What was about to take place here, would change the course of history for all of them, for the world, they needed to understand that, for this was no lowly Lord that they served.

Suddenly, in the distance the winds started to build up once more, the mist yet again starting to form in several locations across the ballroom. Looking back over her shoulder, the old woman would narrow her eyes before looking back at Tala and Philia. "They are coming… So remember, you are Krea, of House Krea, my house… my kin…" Baba would say before leading them to the very end of the ballroom hall, away from the clearing where everyone was about to appear. Looking around the room once more, Baba now understood why they were brought to this large hall. Quite a few people were going to be gathered here this day, and Baba was sure the events of this meeting were not going to play out easily with just words alone. Rhysian must have taken all of this into consideration for this day. Looking back to Tala and Philia before taking her place and standing ready, Q’ara took a light breath and watched and waited for all that would appear before them.

Valorian Noble || Daravin Jacque’don Kuevaal
[Where:] Ballroom [With:] Varys, Q’ara and Philia [Feeling:] Confused and Intrigued [Outfit:] As seen
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

To say that Daravin felt shock as he seemed to be teleported from on location to another was a severe understatement. Noble, for a brief moment, was paralysed with complete and total confusion, his body not moving a muscle. However, eventually, his senses would return, and he would glance around to see where he had be brought. It was the ballroom, in City Hall. He recognised it from the his visit with his father yesterday. But how? why? Eventually, his gaze would travel to others in the room. There appeared to by Philia, who had arrived with him. The Lord Marshal Richard Varys was also here. However, the others he did not recognise. There was a young woman with brown hair, who addressed Phila and another, a boy with blonde hair. It was then, the young woman aged, donning the appearance of some sort of ancient witch. It was both shocking and interesting to say the least “What is this? What’s going on?” Although he didn’t understand how or why he was brought here, Daravin wouldn’t panic. He remained calm and focused, just like in any other situation.

Eventually, the more the pondered it, the more he became less confused by the method by which he was brought here and soon became intrigued. He had never seen such a phenomenon before. Was it magic? If it was, it certainly wasn’t anything he had witnessed in his lifetime. Still though…such a unique and impressive power…and to teleport multiple people at once like it had done to Philia and himself…how wonderous. It was then Daravin’s thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the Lord Marshal who greeted him. Daravin bowed respectfully and replied, “Greetings, Lord Marshal Varys. I am Daravin Jacque’don Kuevaal, eldest son of Elmund Ammether Kuevaal, the current head of the Kuevaal Noble House.” all the while thinking to himself, “…as unfortunate as that is…” Glancing over to the others, Daravin would let Varys continue. As discreet as the other group were being, Daravin couldn’t help but overhear the mention of a “Lord” that they referred to. However, that one word was all he overheard, and it only served to intensify his intrigue into what was going on. “Lord?” Daravin had to wonder who this “Lord” was. However…he had a feeling he would find out soon.

~ Combat Wing - Arena ~

User Image What the heck was that? One minute, he'd been making his way out of the Combat Arena with Eyrli to go and find Gannon...and the next moment he'd been engulfed in a swirl of black mist and...Teleported? To what appeared to be a very Grand Hall...

Still a little disorientated by the sudden change of location, Tala would glance around his surroundings - his gaze immediately falling upon the man closest to him, then drifting towards the others, Philia, Baba and a Stranger whom he had yet to meet... He opened his mouth to ask what was going on, tensing slightly as he realised Fea wasn't by his side...but that was perhaps for the best - besides, Eyrli would take care of her in his absence...right? Whatever was going on, it was the look on the stern Old Witch's face as she ushered him over that told him it was best not to waste a second with foolish questions...

As they both reached the space before the Witch, she would start to explain that there was no turning back, that they would all be there very soon which meant... What...? With that pause, Tala found it hard not to want to ask, but the Shadowmancer was swiftly silenced as the woman's young appearance suddenly started to age back to a face he had known for as long as he could recall...

As she continued to speak, Baba would reveal that Lord Rhysian was behind their summoning and that it was those who were loyal to him that would be rewarded - their summoning was proof of that and as a breeze started to pick up once again, bringing in more from who knows where, Baba would give them her name, making them one of her Noble House...

Tala was honestly quite uncertain what to make of that, but as the mist started to form in dotted locations about the ballroom, the Shadowmancer would nod quietly and turn to face whatever would appear before them at Rhysian's summoning...

~ Philia appeared in Ballroom ~

The woman had found herself engulfed in a strong wind and by the time she had risen to her feet, was moved to another location as a result of the strange force... Philia was momentarily caught off guard but was quick to compose to the winds that had transported her. It was certainly a peculiar sight she'd had the rare chance to witness, but to experience it taking her to an alternate location? And so suddenly? The events alone left the Professor cautious. Right away she was resting the book she was in the middle of reading to her side, tucked beneath her arm while she'd examine her surroundings... On the other end of the large room stood a few familiar individuals, which certainly shifted her wariness into curiosity as to the events playing out. Though... To her side stood the noble from back in the Library. Him too... Philia had a strong feeling that the man was not brought here by mistake and thus, would return attention to Q'ara, Tala and Varys. Whatever had been occuring prior to her arrival was unknown... Yet watching the knightly male walk towards Philia and the noble she'd at least notice a rather frustrated look on his face. She'd pay no heed though and walked past him towards Q'ara who appeared to call her over, along with the Shadowmancer nearby.

Listening patiently it was immediately cleared up that the transportation was not Q'ara's doing... So it appeared their Lord possessed the same power, not that she was surprised by this. "Hm..." Her intrigue briefly vocalised. The woman, who was now returning to the elderly form that the Enhancer was so familiar with, was certainly correct... The simple act of them all being brought to this location was not to be taken lightly. This meant it was time to return to following orders. Philia nodded her head in acknowledgment of Q'ara's... No, Baba's words. "The Lords trust is reward enough..." This was certainly true in her eyes. Trust can lead to answers... To knowledge. The curiosity that she was looking into would have to wait now that she seemed to have a task to accomplish. Baba then informed them that they were to act as a part of her Noble house, Krea. "Understood." She surely was not going to take the elders words lightly, especially since it related to their Lord.

Philia looked towards the boy, Tala, for a second and then back to Baba, speaking up and motioning her gaze towards the Noble that had been brought with her. "Pray tell, do you know what that man is here for as well?" While she had no doubt of Baba's or Rhysians decisions, she would at least prefer to understand the reason for said decisions, the reason the male was transported also.

[~ @Daravin ~]

Varys kept up a calm unassuming expression as he introducing himself to the Noble before him, even with the bit of reluctance he kept having to continue to keep up his loyalties. Nodding lightly at the man’s words, Varys shook his head lightly. "Kuevaal Huh?" Varys would say before letting out a sigh. "Heard he wasn’t too happy that I wasn’t here to greet him on arrival," Varys would say with slight annoyance. He was underplaying what he had heard of course, since Lord Kuevaal had given his officials an earful in his ‘disappoint’ that he wouldn’t be meeting with Varys that day. Since Varys and the others were still returning from their ‘hunt’ when Kuevaal arrived, there wasn’t much that could be done about it, not that it was something Varys was worried about. ’Hopefully he’ll be wise enough to shut his mouth before Rhysian…’ Varys would think before returning his gaze to Daravin. "Well Lord Kuevaal, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, and I certainly hope your arrival here wasn’t too startling, it seems my Lord is eager to get things underway," Varys would say as the mist billowed up again and more and more people started to show. "If you’ll excuse me, I doubt everyone else will be as calm as you," He would say while bowing lightly and stepping away from Daravin, walking to the center of the ballroom to greet the others that were arriving.

[~ @Philia / Tala ~]

As Baba stood at the edge of the ballroom, just off to the side of the center of the tiered platform that held as the main stage of the ballroom, she looked over the rest of the room, putting a hand out so that Tala and Philia would take their place behind her. She looked back over her shoulder briefly as Philia asked about the noble that was speaking with Lord Varys. "Hm? Him? He is of one of the Noble houses gathered here today," Baba said in a low voice over her shoulder. "Like all of them, I suppose we’ll soon see if he was worth the effort, or if any of them are wise enough to accept their place… when the time comes," Baba said a bit vaguely, but with a bit of mystery in her tone. She knew that Tala and Philia had no idea what was to come, but it was to be expected, since Lord Rhysian had been gone for so long. His very name was lost to history long ago, and so like Tala and Philia, none of the Noble’s arriving would likely know who he is, what he is, or why they are hear. For a brief moment, Baba wondered if any of the old families had passed down the old ways, the old knowledge, had any of the twelve families continued to teach their descendants the truth of their history and the connections that were wrought. Did they know the strength and or place that their families once held in the country, or the world. If so, then perhaps they would more readily accept their Lord. But for those who haven’t, they would be in for a rude awakening and Baba was for one thing, glad.

[~ @All ~]

While Varys and Baba spoke with their respective company, the winds within the room would start to pulse and blow as the mist built up in several spots around the room. One by one, more and more people would appear, all of them just as surprised and confused as the next. First to arrive was Lord Rickor Nemont followed shortly by his son, Jon Nemont. Nemont looked around the room in complete confusion, unable to find the words as his eyes went from Baba and the others to Varys who was walking to the center of the room. "W-what is… what happened?" He started to say, but before he could continue, another appeared in the mist, Lord Boramir Echsarte and his brother the young lord Lord Laene Echsarte. "Where are we? What magic is this!" Lord Echsarte would say as his eyes fell upon the others, and then finally on Lord Nemont. "You? You are here as well?" He would ask and again the mist would billow one after the next. Lord Jamison Barathyr would pop out of the mist next, followed by the Lady Elexandra Andeste, and her eldest son Phillipe Andeste. "Oh my?" She would suddenly exclaim as she caught her breath and checked to make sure her dress was not improperly rustled or revealing. "Are you alright mother?" the young Lord Andeste would ask as the mist dropped right next to him, revealing Lord Al’Beveron and his son Horun.

Seconds later, a loud grunt could be heard as the mist revealed yet another, this time an elderly lord, Lord Elmund Kuevaal, who unfortunately had disappeared from a carriage. When he appeared in the mist, he was sitting on the ground, haven fallen from the sitting position as the mist disappeared. "What in the hells! Who would dare to do this to me!..." He would yell out as the mist cleared, grabbing his cane and trying to steady himself up to his feet. As he finally steadied himself, he looked around the room from face to face, and started to scoff. He then saw his son standing on the other side of the room as Varys was starting to reach the center of the ballroom. "Daravin! What the in the hell is going on! Explain yourself!" He started to yell out as Varys stepped in front of him and held his hands up. "Ah, you must be Lord Kuevaal, that’s quite enough bickering my Lord, I will explain everything…" Varys tried to say knowing that Kuevaal wasn’t the only annoyed one present. "Which one of you did it, was it you? Which one of you would offer such blatant disrespect, " He would start to say as he took note of the different Nobles in the room, none of which he considered of equal status to his own name, until the mist appeared again.

Suddenly the mist billowed, and out stepped Lord Arlyn Malxarra, followed by Lord Nathaniel Umbrawalker. They looked at eachother with surprise for a moment, and then out at the crowd of Nobles lining the room. "What is this?…" Malxarra would say under his breath as he looked back towards Umbrawalker, wondering if he knew anything about this. Umbrawalker on the other hand was looking from Noble to Noble, from person to person with suspicion as he noted who he was seeing. "No…" Was all that came out of his mouth as his eyes shifted a bit before they came across Kuevaal who was seemingly in the middle of an uproar. "It can’t be…" He thought to himself as he looked around once more stepped towards Kuevaal and placed a hand on the old man’s shoulder. "That’s quite enough Elmund," Umbrawalker would say as Lord Kuevaal suddenly turned his head over his shoulder in disdain. "Who would dare touch me…" He would start to say before completely cutting himself off at the sight of Lord Umbrawalker. "L-lord Umbrawalker, y-you are here a-as well?" He would say trying to keep his air of dignity without offending the Lord Marshal General before him. "Yes, and so are you, and you, and you, something is strange…" He would say pointing to several of the other Nobles as if it was matter of fact as the mist continued to bring more, one after the other. The next to appear was the young son of Lord Malxarra, Estarossa, who appeared by himself near Varys and the others. Upon seeing his son, Lord Malxarra recomposed himself, quickly understanding that whatever had happened, was meant to happen and that their purpose for coming to Eoana must have been coming to a head. He pressed his fingers together as looked to his son, an expression that said ‘You know what to do, and ’behave yourself’ all in one glare. Malxarra then moved to a spot a bit more in line with the rest of the families as they bickered amongst each other, trying to find out what each of them was doing there and what was happening. Lord Malxarra kept his hands pressed together in front of him as he took note of Varys who was centered in the room.

"If you could all settle down, " Varys would call out, trying to get everyone’s attention. Of course, not everyone responded to Varys, as not everyone was aware of who he was, most of the Noble’s know each other, or at least to an extent at least knew of each other, and so some of the bickering continued as the mist just kept on appearing, showing that more and more people were showing up. But it was with the next few arrivals that the Noble’s finally started to quiet down as their curiosity grew and their nerves heightened. Out of the large clouds of mist appeared the Royal Court Mage Lady Emilia Caertyne with her husband and son Irvin and Lucas Caertyrne, followed immediately on the other side of the ballroom by Royal Court Mage Lord Baracus Brarlea and his son Elias. At the appearance of the two Royal Court Mages, even Lord Umbrawalker’s gaze widened a bit as his own suspicions grew even more. "Caertyrne and Brarlea?..." Umbrawalker would think to himself as he stepped back a bit and watched carefully, cautiously. "All that’s left is…" He would think as the last of the large mist clouds appeared, and revealed the elders of the De’Valear family, Lord Rhoderick De’Valaer, and the Royal Court Mage Lord Eldyn De’Valaer followed by his son Kayl De’Valaer, and the young daughter of Umbrawalker himself, Camilla Umbrawalker. 'These are the old families, the old council, what is going on?' Lord Umbrawalker thought to himself as his suspicions grew. He wondered if any of the other families knew, or even realized who was present amongst them, and was about to step to Eldyn to question what was once the lead family. He stopped when his own daughter came into view. "Camilla?..." He would let out with a bit of surprise, not so much at her arriving to the meet since so many other families had their kin and heir’s with them, but at the fact that she was standing with, and was being held by the young Lord Kayl De’Valaer.

Daravin nodded at the Lord Marshals words. Sighing as bit, he replied “Yes, indeed. I apologise on behalf of House Kuevaal Lord Marshal Varys. My father has become bitter and oppugnant in his old age. I did my best to ensure your men paid his harsh words no mind.” While Daravin spoke to Varys in a calm and rational voice, deep down, on the inside…was another matter entirely. The fact that Elmund had disgraced their family in such a way…such blatant disregard…it turned his stomach. “Unfortunately…that’s the legacy of our Kingdom now…foolish and arrogant old men…” he thought to himself. Thankfully, however, Varys seemed a civil enough and understanding man, which Daravin could certainly appreciate. Again…Varys, like the others, mentioned something about a “Lord”. Who was it? Who was this Lord? By the sounds of it, it appeared that this Lord of theirs had summoned him, as well as others here. But why? For what purpose? And the method of transportation…magic unlike anything Daravin had seen in his life. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but inside, he could feel his interest in the current events grow stronger.

However, such inner thoughts were shattered as Elmund had appeared, raving at Daravin and the Lord Marshal. His gaze darkening at the sight of his father, Daravin would sigh as the Lord Marshal, and…Lord Umbrawalker would calm Elmund down. Daravin was caught a little off Guard at the sight of the Valorian Lord. Looking around, he noticed others arrive, “Umbrawalker, Nemont, Eschsarte, Andeste, Barathyr, Malxarra, Caertyrne and Brarlea?” Daravin would ponder to himself. These were all members of the High Noble houses of Valor. Daravin would soon done a look of understanding as he would piece the puzzle together. This was the gathering he was to attend, as the contents stated in the letter the Kuevaal estate had received, containing the seal of the King. It appeared this “Lord” that Varys and the others referred to was the one who organised this meeting. How interesting… Last, but by no means least, their arrived the De’Valaer’s, Rhoderick and Eldyn, whose son Kayl, along with Camilla Umbrawalker, was also with them.

What most interested Daravin was finding out who this Lord was. Impressive magical abilities aside, this man must have been very influence to host such a gathering. Daravin couldn’t deny the interest this Lord struck in him. And he didn’t even know his name or what he looked like. However, interesting as it all was, mulling it over in his head would not make events transpire any quicker. So, he simply stood and awaited this mysterious lord’s arrival.

User Image Without a word, the young Shadowmancer would take his place just behind the old Witch, glancing across at Philia briefly before watching as more swirls of black mist began to bring more strangers into the room... "...we’ll soon see if he was worth the effort, or if any of them are wise enough to accept their place…" Listening as Baba answered the female's question, Tala still found himself with little idea as to what the Elder had planned for them, but rather than dwell on the fact, his focus now would turn towards the faces of those arriving - he didn't recognise any of those that appeared...at least not until two more than familiar individuals stepped from the shroud...

His eyes widened slightly as he recognised their faces, questioning the reason for the pair's summoning before he overheard one of the Nobles voice that their numbers consisted of those from old families - from the old council... What was truly going on? His mind drifted back to the Old Witch's words to 'steady himself and steel his nerves' - of course, she had been speaking to both him and Philia, but still... With the pair's appearance, he wanted so much to advance towards them, more importantly, to approach Camilla - having not seen her in quite some time - and ask how she was fairing after rumour had it she may have been there when the Academy's Arena was destroyed...but with Baba in the forefront of their little trio, he instead turned his gaze away and pondered over what excuse he would give if they asked why he was there...

Baba had given him the name of Krea as though he were one of her house, of her Kin...but although their shared lessons had been few, Kayl and Camilla had always known him by another name - one he had used for his entire residency at the Academy... Perhaps they wouldn't ask - maybe they wouldn't even get the chance? But what if they did? Keeping his eyes averted, he would listen to the quiet rumbling of confused individuals whose volume had perhaps been softened by Varys who had called for them all to settle...

Philia was hardly surprised by Q'ara's answer, as simple as it was. While the woman would have preferred she knew a little more as to why to noble was moved here alongside them, able to openly see what they are doing, it was best to allow the answer to come of its own accord in the future. "Hm. we shall see." The woman spoke calmly while she was position behind Q'ara. She hadn't a clue as to what was about to take place, but knew not to press for answers. Especially as they will be needing to play along so soon with the elderly womans commands.

As if on cue, the winds that had initially engulfing the Professor had arrived once more in multiple locations around the ball, exposing a number of different people. The nobles. Philia watching in complete silence as they all were reacting in all manner of predictable ways. Some showing obvious panic, some like her remaining calm and collected. There was even a rief outburst from one to was quick to target numerous members within the Ballroom as the conjurers of the magic that brought them all here.

Even his outburst though was stopped by another noble, Umbrawalker... While she appeared unphased by matters she could not help recall briefly the information regardless the man and one of her students... His daughter. Looks sure are deceptive... She would wonder. At a first glance the calm man did not seem like one who would hospitalise his own child. Although... How would one picture such a person? Even so it would be hard for most to believe a man that appeared as such would be so reckless.

At least a chunk of the people who bickered and panicked were silence when Varys spoke up. It appeared some were too focused on themselves to pay any attention... Though is more and more people were brought into the room through the mists the few that went on were even becoming quieter. The final bunch of people to appear were seemingly enough to fully silence the room... The De'Valears... The Lords noble house. Most notably... A Court Mage, as well as the son of whome attends the Academy, Kayl De'Valaer. And... Camilla. Needless to say, Philia could not help grow a little more cautious. There stood a chance that girl would notice her presence... Whether or not that would be a problem later on? She was not fond on those chances. Though if she were to try to inform Q'ara, there stood an equal chance of being overheard, thus she'd remain silent and wait to see how things played out.

The only real things in life are the unexpected things.

Estarossa Malxarra

User Image
One-moment Estarossa was walking down the street heading for the Inn he had been occupying, and the next a turbulent force began to overtake him. At first, Estarossa was deeply concerned, but when the black mist like substance grew over him and didn't seem to harm him, he relaxed. This was some kind of magic, and it was meant to obscure and isolate the target, which seemed to be him by all accounts. If it was someone trying to kill him this would be a poor choice indeed. But for now, Estarossa thought to see what would happen and quietly stood in the middle of the street as it took him away, leaving nothing but angry civilians in its wake.

*Arrives in Ballroom*

Almost as quickly as it arrived, it had begun to disappear. Looking around he was certainly in a different location from just a moment ago. So the black mist was some kind of teleportation magic. He had never seen anything like it before. Being sure to keep the surprised look buried he began to look around. He was quite impressed with the crowd. The high lords of Valor were all here as well as some faces he didn't recognize. He didn't recognize Phila, Tala, or Baba. The looked dingy and poor to him so for now, he'd just ignore them. another that was relatively close to him upon his arrival was Varys. He didn't recognize that man either. But he looked well off and official so should he need to speak to someone it might be him. But there was more. Newmont family, Echsarte family, Barathyr family, Andeste Family, Lord Al’Beveron and his son, Kuevaal family, as well as Lord Marshal Umbrawalker, his own father Arlyn Malxarra, Caertyne family, Brarlea family, and De’Valaer family followed by two kids who he would recognize as, Kayl of the De’Valaer family, and Camilla of the Umbrawalker family. What was more interesting was that the two young heirs were embracing one another, and their parents were right there to boot. Smiling to himself he looked back over towards his father and was met with ' the stare'. This refers to his fathers face whenever he tells Estarossa to behave and act like a noble and not an eccentric.

Rolling his ruby-colored eyes he sighed. Naturally, his father would not let him enjoy the fun of a mysterious gathering. Typical. For now, Estarossa would cross his arms over his chest. It seemed like most of the people in the room were abuzz with concern and worry. A natural response to being spirited away so suddenly. the one he had noted earlier, Varys, seemed to be the one trying to corral this unruly group. Why he was unsure. If he had to hazard a guess it was for the sake of peace and to probably distribute information as to why they were here. But the room was mostly quiet at this point except for Umbrawalker himself who seemed to have called out to his daughter. The smile returning to his face once more he would watch how that situation panned out. Not like he was going anywhere or had anything better to do. Though he had forgotten that he had plans with Gin. Should he remember that would be sure to kill his mood as he was looking forward to having a new plaything.

Everything else is just and illusion.

These hands could hold the world,

Camilla Umbrawalker

User Image
Smiling sweetly to Kayl's father she would blush and grab her lance. His father was certainly a nice man. It had been some time since they had last seen one another but as usual, it was always nice to see him. Part of her wished her father talked to her like this but never would she utter such words to anyone but Kayl, maybe. As he began to interact with his son and the tone seemed to shift, Camilla found herself looking off at things around the harbor. It was at this point something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. Looking down at her hand that was clutching the lance she saw only a dark mist. Panic set in immediately, not only was this thing on her but it was spreading, fast! Camilla began to frantically try and get whatever it was off of her but it did nothing. Looking to Kayl with panic in her eyes she saw him already darting to her side. " Kayl, what's happening! It won't come off! " She yelled over the roar of the wind that had begun to pick up around her. She wanted Kayl to leave and save himself from whatever ill fate had befallen her. But seeing as he was holding her, the substance had spread to him now as well.

Whipping her head around to Nephy she looked at her friend in horror. But taking note that she was unaffected would bring her just a little relief. Poor Nephthys tried her best to stay close and reach out her hand to Camilla and Kayl but Camilla would simply shake her head. She would not allow Nephthys to be taken by whatever it was that had gotten hold of her and Kayl. After closing her eyes for a moment Camilla collected herself and looked to her dear friend before mouthing to her ' We'll be okay. ' To her terrified friend. She doubted she would even understand and just had to hope she'd be okay till they figured out what was going on. And not long after that, they were gone. The only thing left behind was Camilla's case that held her gear.

*Arrived in ballroom*

Just as everything had gone black suddenly she was in a room. A large, dimly lit room. Pulling away from Kayl slightly she held him around his waist and he held her in a similar fashion. With her lance at the ready, Camilla got serious. She didn't know where she was and as her eyes were still adjusting she wasn't sure what would be greeting them. As he eyes finally adjusted to the dimly lit room she would take a moment and look around, taking note that they were not the only ones in the room. At a glance, she didn't recognize a portion of the people in the room. She recognized the noble houses and the heads of each respected family. But that was it. A lot of the children were much older now and she didn't recognize them by face. But a few people she did recognize was Philia and Tala. Philia being her enhancer teacher and Tala being a classmate. She had some question that required answers and she felt like those two would probably possess the answers she was seeking. But before she could even move from Kayl the rest of the De’Valaer family showed up not far from them.

But none of this was as bad as what she was to endure next. Hearing her name called out she snapped her head towards the sound and her eyes landed on her father. The look on his face one of confusion and surprise. It was then that she realized Kayl was still holding her and her, him. Removing her arm from Kayl's waist and taking a step forward as to not abruptly remove herself from her beloved she would then bow low to her father. " Father. I'm glad that you and the rest of the noble leaders are in good health. " She would say completely ignoring his gaze and doing her absolute best to not answer any potential questions about the scene he had just witnessed. She truly loved Kayl but she didn't know if explaining that to her father was something she should do in their current situation. Taking a step back towards Kayl she stood as close to him as she could without it looking awkward or overly clingy. She desperately wanted to hold his hand or something but refrained as to not cause a scene amongst the lords of Valor. no, for now, she'd stand with Kayl and wait to see what happened next. Seeing as this was no ordinary meeting with all of the old families here. No, this was something else, something unusual. Whatever it was she had a bad feeling about it. Clenching her fist around the shaft of the lance she stood in stoic silence.

but it'll never be enough.

The smoky mist and winds would die down just as quickly as they had appeared, and Kayl would slowly open his eyes as the winds calmed. His heart was beating quickly as his adrenaline spiked, and his free hand quickly went to the hilt of his sword as he prepared to deal with whatever threat that might reveal itself. Instead, they stood amongst many familiar faces, most notably his own family, and the father of his beloved Lord Umbrawalker, who was now staring at them in disbelief. Eye’s going wide for the briefest of moments, Kayl quickly let Camilla go and stepped back as she turned to face her father. Quick and concise, she greeted him readily as if nothing had happened, before taking a step back by his side and watching intently to see what came next. Taking her example, Kayl simply bowed to Lord Umbrawalker, saying nothing for the time being as the rest of the nobles watched on and started to look amongst themselves. Umbrawalker took a step forward, as if he was about to ask them something, but thank the gods his own Father spoke first.

"Seeing as we are all here, alive and well, there is likely no need to panic," Eldyn would say while taking to the center of the room, speaking loud enough for all of the nobles to hear him. "However, that doesn’t mean staying silent if you’ve any information that could enlighten us all to this… situation…" Eldyn would say while turning and facing the Lord Marshal Richard Varys, whom was standing close to him at the large ballroom’s center and had been trying to catch everyone’s attention when Eldyn and the others arrived. "And you? What do you know of this?" Umbrawalker called out while stepping to Eldyn, unconvinced of the De’Valaer family’s supposed ignorance. "You are the head Royal Court Mage, do you truly know nothing of this impromptu meeting?" Umbrawalker would say, implying that all of them being present was anything but coincidental, and who else but the De’Valaer family could orchestrate such a meeting. Unfortunately, there were more questions then there were answers, even just in speculation. "Yes yes, well, be that as it may, I am just as clueless to my summons as any of you are, after all…" Eldyn would say while pulling a small letter out of his sleeve, holding it up for all of them to see, the summons sent to him with the seal of the King of Valor planted squarely at its base. "I was summoned here, much like I suspect as were you all."

Umbrawalker nearly scoffed at the thought, looking around the room again and then turning back towards Eldyn. "This is no time for sarcasm Lord De’Valaer, are you telling me you really had nothing to do with this, that your family of all people, head of the council had nothing to do with bringing them here?" he said adamantly, as he started to get a bit riled up and annoyed. Kayl was a bit confused at Lord Umbrawalker’s words. Yes, his father was the head Royal Court Mage of Valor, but that had nothing to do with the rest of his family. Why did he say that? What did his family have to do with the Royal Council? Although it was strange for Kayl, in truth it might have also seemed a bit strange to anyone else present as well, they were all in the same boat, all of them summoned by the King, but Umbrawalker seemed to know something that the rest of them didn’t, and he was clearly starting to angry. "Who was it then, Caertyrne, Brarlea? Or do you want me to believe one of the lower heads put all of this together?" Umbrawalker said with a scoff in his throat. "You dare to look down on us?" Kuevaal suddenly burst out while stepping forward, obviously insulted at being called lower. "Now now, that’s enough…" Varys started to say but was cut off by Eldyn mid-sentence. "I’m at a loss as to why you would think anyone but the King ordered this meeting? Was your letter not stamped with the Seal?" Eldyn asked plainly, referencing the fact that they were all summoned with the Seal of the King, something Eldyn could never have in his possession. "You don’t know why? Look at who is here and tell me again that his Highness Lord Warsong of Valor was the one to bring this specific combination of Nobles here? Really? You really think so? Then tell me why…"

At Umbrawalker’s words, Eldyn looked around the room once more, he only had a brief glimpse when he first arrived before taking center stage to calm everyone present, it was his nature to take charge after all. But now that he took a good look, something was off, and it was written on Eldyn’s face. The other’s could sense something was wrong as well and started bickering amongst themselves once more, asking themselves what was going on, asking each other if they knew what Lord Umbrawalker and De’Valaer were talking about. As Eldyn turned completely around and came full circle, facing back towards Umbrawalker, he nodded his head as he thought about what to say at this moment. "What in the world are you babbling on about? Are you looking down on…" Lord Kuevaal started to say, inferring that Lord De’Valaer’s silent agreement with Umbrawalker was an acknowledgment of what he had said earlier, but he was cut off when Lady Caertyrne suddenly stepped forward. "Lord Umbrawalker? Lord De’Valaer? What is going on, what are you not telling us?" Lady Caertyrne asked lightly, wanting to know just what was going on, and why they were all there. Looking up at Lady Caertyrne then, Eldyn shook his head lightly as he realized what Umbrawalker was hinting at. "You don’t… know, do you… none of you do…" He stated lightly while taking a step forward as he spoke to Lady Caertyrne. "The Old Families… the Old Council… Did your ancestors not pass it on?" he asked before looking around the room to see if anyone else knew of what he spoke. Umbrawalker obviously knew, and from the look on Lord Malxarra’s face, it seemed that Lord Malxarra might have been aware as well, but Eldyn couldn’t be sure. But that was it, it seemed that everyone else was clueless, especially after all of them went silent as they looked from one to the next, looking amongst themselves in confusion. How was it that none of the other families knew? Were they all ignorant of their family’s pasts? After a moment, Eldyn started to wonder if maybe he was the odd one. Perhaps it was normal for these things to fade in time.

With all that was happening, Kayl didn’t know what to make of everything he was hearing, but the thing that caught his attention was his father’s words. The Old Council? What in the world were they talking about? It was then that Kayl realized that they weren’t speaking about the Royal Council earlier, that was his own misunderstanding, not that anyone would have thought otherwise. So there was an Old Council, one that his family once led apparently. What did any of that have to do with now? There more he tried to understand it the more confused he got, he simply didn’t have enough information. So he found himself, like the rest of them wondering just what they were talking about. Like the rest, he continued to listen and was thankful that Lady Caertyrne spoke up to ask. "If it wasn’t you," Umbrawalker suddenly said after seeing the distress in Eldyn’s eyes. Umbrawalker was taken aback, even more confused, but also a bit worried at the thought. If the King really did summon them, did that mean? "But… the Old Council hasn’t convened in centuries, no documents were ever formed, never mind saved. From what I was told the Royal Family was never aware of its existence, so… how?" Umbrawalker said aloud, looking to Eldyn now. Kayl started to get worried now, with Lord Umbrawalker’s words, he started to wonder why his father and lord Umbrawalker would be so worried about this Old Council. A council that the Royal Family was unaware of, a clandestine council. What did that mean? Or worse… If his own father, head of the Royal Court Mages of Valor, and Lord Umbrawalker, the Lord Marshal General of Valor were this anxious, then what in the world did this Old Council do?

It was then that Umbrawalker’s eyes finally fell upon someone he didn’t recognize, the old woman standing near the edge of the ballroom, silently watching and waiting while the commotion continued in the room's center. "You!" He said while stepping forward, holding his hand out and pointing. "You are the only one here I do not know, who are you! What is your part in this? Why are we here!?" Umbrawalker started to say fairly forcefully. However, Baba Q’ara didn’t respond, instead, she simply focused her gaze and smirked lightly as the mist started to billow again, this time above them all in the center of the room. Umbrawalker stopped in his tracks as he felt the winds build up again. The mist was returning, someone else was arriving. Looking over his shoulder then the winds blew into a small whirlwind of mist and smoke, blowing fiercely in all directions harder than any of the mist appearances before it. The chandeliers started to get pushed back, their smaller bits falling to the ground and shattering as the winds continued to blow around the room. The curtains and shades around the windows also blew about, temporarily letting even more light in as the mist and smoky clouds formed in the air, obscuring the very center of the air in the room. Like everyone before it, the mist suddenly spread out and dissipated in all directions, revealing a tall imposing man floating in the air at its center holding out his arms in either direction. It was his Lordship Lord Rhysian De’Valaer, and when Kayl saw his eyes, or rather the way his eyes were glowing, a deep pale gold that looked as though he could see right through you, it sent shiver’s down Kayl’s spine. Just a moment later, few feet below Lord Rhysian, a young girl that was floating unconsciously below the man’s feet came into view as well, and once she came into full view, Kayl’s eyes went wide with fear as he recognized who it was.

                                  "LELYNA!!!"

Appearing before them all, the seemingly all-powerful Rhysian would come into view floating in the air as the winds blew about. Slowly, he looked down upon all of the nobles with a look of utter dissent that caused most of them to step back in caution. Turning to face the godly man, Umbrawalker couldn’t help but be surprised by the display, and as the winds died down, Rhysian suddenly touched down in the air. As if he actually landed on something, however, there was nothing there. Instead, a soft glow of light pulsed as his feet touched down on nothing, he stood in the air above them all looking down at them as his eyes slowly reverted to normal, the glowing pale gold dissipating and his clear blue eyes revealing themselves. As his eyes reverted to normal, Eldyn got a good look at the godly man standing in the air above them all, and a sharp chill shot up his spine. His eyes went wide, and he took a step back subconsciously. "N-no…" he let out under his breath for the briefest of moments before his attention was drawn and his train of thought was completely distracted by his own son. "LELYNA!!!" Kayl would yell out as he ran towards the floating girl, who was slowly lowering to the ground after Rhysian had touched his feet down in the air. Hearing the name, and seeing the girl, Baba Q’ara looked up at Rhysian with a worried gaze, now realizing why Rhysian pushed up the timeline and brought them all here. Something must have happened with the girl, with Lelyna, that forced his hand. Q’ara knew that her Lord and master wouldn’t have jumped the gun for no reason. But even she was unable to sense his demeanor, his anger, or his sorrow. Instead, she could only sense his malice. Looking back down as Kayl ran forward to his sister, Q’ara was about to step forward as well, to see if she could help with whatever happened to Lelyna. However, Rhysian looked right at her at that moment and shook his head before starting to step down towards the stage at the end of the ballroom, as if he was walking downstairs.

’LELYNA!!!’ The echoed sound of his son’s voice replayed in Eldyn’s head over and over as he stared in disbelief at what he was seeing. As Eldyn watched Kayl put his arms out to catch her, Lelyna slowly lowered from the air until she was low enough for Kayl to reach her. Kayl took her in his arms, steadily taking her and gently shaking her lightly as he tried to wake her. "Lelyna… Lelyna!!" Kayl would say over and over before looking up towards Rhysian who was just reaching the center stage and finally stepping onto the ground. As Eldyn reacted unusually towards the scene, Lord Rhoderick De’Valaer, Eldyn’s older brother and Kayl’s uncle, took note of the way Eldyn responded and grew uneasy at the sight. He looked over at the girl and was utterly surprised at what he saw. "Eleanor?... no, it’s not…" Rhoderick would say, noting how young the girl was and realizing that it was not the woman he thought it was. However, the resemblance was uncanny, who was this girl? At that moment his eyes would narrow sharply as Kayl carried the girl in his arms, and Rhoderick’s gaze would shift to his brother, full of suspicion and betrayal. "What happened? My Lord! What happened to Lelyna!!!" Kayl yelled out with disregard for his position or rank, his mind going just a bit blank as his worry for his sister overtook him. As Kayl called out to this Unknown Lord, Eldyn, on the other hand, continued to stare in disbelief at the girl that Kayl was holding. "L-lelyna? It can’t be..." He said under his breath as he took a small step towards them, his eyes wide as his hand started to reach out for them both subconsciously. Eldyn caught himself however and he snapped out of it, shaking his head quickly to recompose himself, and then the Unknown Lord spoke. "She is fine, young De’Valaer, merely resting…" Rhysian would finally say with a voice that was both smooth and calm, yet melancholic, malevolent, and malicious. Hearing his voice, hearing his words… Kayl grew restless and turned away from them all before starting to heading towards the doors so that he could take Lelyna away from this place. He wasn’t sure what was happening here, but he knew one thing, she likely wasn’t safe here.

Varys had turned and put a hand out to Kayl to stop him, but before he could even take a step, suddenly Kayl felt himself go heavy as Rhysian’s voice boomed across the large room. "That’s far enough!" Rhysian would say while lifting a single hand, and suddenly Kayl felt his legs go from under him as if they were weighted down by large stones. Oddly enough, however, Kayl was slowly brought to his knees instead of crashing down, as he still held Lelyna tightly in his arms, and many watching gasped lightly as Kayl struggled to move his own body, fear overtaking his face. Varys stopped dead in his tracks, looking back up at Rhysian as he spoke once more. "You may tend to her, young De’Valaer, I know no other will take as good a care, but no one is leaving this place…" Rhysian would say firmly as he released his hold on Kayl while overlooking the crowd of nobles as they all brought their attention to this Unknown Lord that would dare to say such a thing. No one knew what to think of this man, but he was clearly powerful, and he had already shown them all a powerful and intimidating show of magic. Many of the lower nobles were already hesitant, and fear would start to settle on some of their Noble faces as they realized that Rhysian wasn’t just talking to Kayl, but to all of them. "Who the hell do you think you are to order us about, do you know who stands before you?" Lord Kuevaal would suddenly blurt out as he took a few steps towards the stage. Both Eldyn De’Valaer and Umbrawalker would watch cautiously as one of the lords spoke up, seeing what they were up against as the situation allowed. "You best mind your tongue, for none here will allow a wretched heathen to so disrespectfully disregard…," and that was the last word Kuevaal was able to speak. All of the nobles then took a step back at what they saw, all of them. Caertyrne, Brarlea, Malxarra, and the rest, for not another word, could be said, as suddenly the old man found it hard to breathe and felt everything around him get unbearably heavy. Unlike Kayl before him, Lord Kuevaal suddenly fell to the ground hard, as if something was pushing him down. As the pressure grew, his cane simply shattered beneath him, and he completely lost his balance, unable to hold himself up from his hands and knees any longer as he lost his breath. Gasping desperately for air, the old man writhed on the ground in pain, and then the pressure suddenly let up, allowing him to gasp deeply for air as he laid on the ground in shock. Without any acknowledgment of the old man’s words whatsoever, Rhysian simply stepped back and took a seat on the Lord Marshal’s chair that overlooked the ballroom floor.

"You… this meeting was your doing…" Umbrawalker said lightly before walking over to the stage, facing Rhysian head on as he spoke. "And you’d have us believe that you are the Noble Lord that this letter describes? The one the King ordered us to meet?" Umbrawalker would say with a slightly accusatory tone as Eldyn slowly positioned himself in front of Kayl and Lelyna, stepping in between them and Rhysian as he watched carefully, his eyes glued to the man as if he knew who he was. Again, Rhysian would ignore another Noble’s words, Umbrawalker’s words as he closed his eyes for a moment as he brought his hands up in front of his face, his fingers interlaced with his pointer fingers pressed together pointing towards the ceiling. "ANSWER ME!" Umbrawalker started to yell out, but in the middle of his words, Rhysian started to speak, his tone even sharper and more malevolent than before. "Do you know why you are here? Why I have summoned you?" Rhysian asked as he looked from one Noble Lord to the next. "Because you have failed me, angered me, disappointed… me…" Rhysian would say as he opened his sharp narrowed eyes, overlooking the crowd of Nobles as they all looked on confused and anxious at his words. "This council has failed me, and allowed our great Gran Valor to become merely a shadow of its former glory, do you know why that is?" Rhysian would continue while passively overlooking all of the Noble families present. "Greed," he would say before standing once more, stepping towards the edge of the stage where the steps that lead down to the ballroom lay. "Now that I have returned, that is something we are going to remedy," he said lightly with an air of mischief, and as he reached the bottom step, standing on the same floor as all of them, he held out his hands as if greeting them all as he spoke once more. "Now… that you are all here, this Meeting of the Twelve can commence…"

Valorian Noble || Daravin Jacque’don Kuevaal
[Where:] Ballroom [With:] Rhysian and High Nobles [Feeling:] Attentive [Outfit:] As seen
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

Daravin would look on as the eleven…the old families…of the old council of Gran Valor had assembled. While Elmund may have not been aware, Daravin on the other hand had done his research, with a mix of eavesdropping, in order to find out about the Old Council of Gran Valor. This was strange...to have them all assembled here, and for him to been party to such a gathering, if not for the fact that the families before him were shadows of their former selves, his own included, he's have called it an honour. Daravin recognised each and every one of the people before him, a benefit of the…specific position he held as home. The intrigue of the current situation only intensified as it developed further. He would look on and listen in silence as the lords and ladies around him bickered. He hid everything well behind a calm and unfazed expression, but inside he couldn’t help but harbour total disgust at the whining pigs before him. Umbrawalker had taken an opportunity to mount his high horse and demand answers he thought himself entitled to. Upon hearing him refer to some of the other families, Daravin’s included, as “lower heads” the noble knew full well that it was exactly the type of comment that would set Elmund off. Though truth be told, Daravin himself didn’t care for Umbrawalker’s bravado and shockingly found himself in agreement with his father, for once. However…Daravin demonstrating his…skills would serve to do nothing but cause further unrest. Listening on as the nobles spoke, he perked up as they referenced the letter all received, a letter which bore the seal of the King. Indeed, Daravin found it interesting…and uncharacteristic, that the King would summon them to this place and in such a manner. To his knowledge, the King had possessed no such magical power as the one used to summon them all here to his room, so, one had to ask…had the King found some new means of power? If so, why not assemble the families back home in Valor?

Despite the letter of summoning bearing the King’s seal…something felt…off. For some reason, Daravin felt that there was…something or more specifically, someone else who was behind this gathering…that this very gathering was in fact NOT by the King’s desgin. The “Lord” that Varys and the others had mentioned before hand…who was it…who was this man…why would he summon the old council here to Eoana of all places? No matter how much he mulled it over in his head, Daravin just couldn’t make sense of it.

However, his thoughts were shattered as the same magical enter, the same cloud of mist that had summoned them all here appeared once more. This time, someone else had arrived…some one who Daravin had never seen before in his life. The man floated in mid-air, his eyes eerily emitting a bright golden aura, a sight that caught Daravin’s inquisitive gaze. Beneath the man, there floated a young woman who looked as though she was sleeping soundly as her body levitated gently, lowering along the mysterious man himself to the ground.

    “LELYNA!!!”

A male voice cried out, and Daravin witnessed the young Kayl dash over to the unconscious girl and the man. Looking on, Daravin had to wonder, was this him? Was this the Lord that Varys and others from before had spoken of? Taking a few steps forward to the seen, but allowing some space for events to occur, Daravin gazed on and listened even more intently as the mysterious man began to speak.
His voice carried authority, it was calm, direct…yet…possessed what could only be described as a most malignant and malicious tone… and upon listening further…Daravin wondered could he possibly have detected sorrow in the man’s speech. It mattered little as this Unknown Lord had begun to address the noble who had been gathered here. Slowly, all the pieces fell into place, the way the man’s voice echoed throughout the room, how it brought Kayl to his knees, the young noble struggling to maintain his composure, respect the man demanded as he sat atop the Lord Marshal’s throne in the room, looking from one noble to the next. How Elmund, who had once again devolved into a rambling mess of pride and arrogance had been instantly silenced as the man once again demonstrated his power. Daravin expected himself to have been paralysed in shock, but instead, his gaze never left the man who now sat before them, almost completely ignoring what had happened to Kayl and Elmund. This had to be him. This had to be the Lord that had been referred to before.

For a while…it was a like the only thing Daravin could hear was the man’s words in front of them, how he reference their great Kingdom, as “Gran Valor”, how the council had failed him, how their glorious nation was tainted by greed and that now…this meeting of the twelve would begin…and they would remedy the malicious poison that had tainted their kingdom for too long. In any other situation, Daravin would have doubted the man before him, saw him as a pompous noble grandstanding just like all the others. However, there was a certainty and clarity in his voice. An undeniable sense of ambition…

...and twelve? A twelfth family? There was no twelfth family of the old council...at least...not from what Daravin had learnt...

All in all…Daravin could now say…the situation had his curiousity…

    Now…it has his attention…
