The days of skepticism was over; the secret was out now. No longer did supernatural beings remain a secret. People could openly say that they weren't human. Werewolves could openly release their forms on a full moon; there were places where Vampires could get their blood fix. But, because of all of this, new laws had to be put in place, mainly to protect the people. Drinking blood and turning people was a chargeable offense if done without consent, and there were places were these being couldn't use their true powers or forms.
But even with all of these laws and this sense of unity, some people were still afraid. And one of those people was Aniyah. Just the thought of it terrified her; she wasn't sure if it was the fact that she was a small, weak mouse compared to them, or if it was the sheer unknowing of what they were capable of. She was scared. She wasn't afraid to admit it, either. She tended to avoid these people, and even if they seemed like good people, she wasn't sure if she would be able to feel safe around them.
But, apparently, Y/C was different. That's probably because she didn't know.
Y/C and Aniyah had been dating for a couple of years and had even moved in together, living in a small apartment in some big city, known to have quite a few supernatural beings around. It obviously made Aniyah uncomfortable, but she got by whenever she had Y/C around. He was her protector; she felt safe around him. But little did she know, he was one of them.
Y/C had kept it a secret for his own reasons, but has their relationship had continued, the risks only grew. Day after day it became a constant question of whether or not she'd find out, and what her reaction would be. Would she leave? Would she be frightened of him?
