"Quite so"
Zael said to Tala when he mentioned how he's full of surprises. Laughing a little at his comment about being able to survive on his own as he shrugged "I think you're a step ahead of me in that. I'm still figuring that whole thing out" He said with a wink to Tala. Naturally, he was sure he'd be fine on his own. But there was no denying the nature of his situation right now. Even this wasn't really making it on his own. Not that he minded. After all he'd been able to meet Tala and many others like him with this new change of events... It was a nice experience, all in all. He didn't really mind much of Tala thought into his words, but he was happy he'd said them nonetheless. And Tala didn't seem to mind hearing them, if a bit contemplative as to what he actually meant. It wasn't something to read into, but he didn't mind all the same.

Zael was simply acting how he always had. Doing what he wanted when he wanted to do it... Sort of. But he accepted Tala's thanks with a wry smile "You're welcome" He said simply in response. He had no issues with this. But he felt like he had to explain something "Memories are important, Tala... To me, at least. Without them we'd have no idea who we were. What was valuable to us, or what made us happy... Or sad. Think of it as something to inspire a memory. That's all" He said, turning his eyes back up to Tala with a smile on his lips. That was really all it was. Zael's only interest was creating and cementing memories. "I will never forget this... There's no need for payback." He says, his smile turning a bit wry as he continues, seeming to have no problems reading what Tala is thinking at the time. Besides, with Tala's trinket, he too would remember it ever clearly.

"But since you're feeling alright still... Lets explore a little more since it's almost over.. It'd be nice, yeah?" He asks Tala. After today that was it, They were back to their classes and their lives. Not that it was a bad thing, but it was nice to have these moments in between the mayhem. Zael resolved to not let the distance that accumulated during this semester repeat itself, and this was a great way to start it off "Come on." He offered, getting off the wall as he finished his last bite of meat. "Let me know if you see something else that interests you... Despite being cut off from my festivals, I still have more than enough" He added with a wink. Looking forward to seeing what else the festival had to offer now that their bellies were sated.

"We're a right pair," Tala smirked, where he excelled in surviving by himself, Zael certainly gave the impression that he was top of the class in regards to keeping his cool around large crowds and busy locations. Turning the pouch in his hands, Tala would eventually open the thin cord, emptying the contents into his palm before twisting the small disc between his fingers. It was a simple amulet, with one side carved with a sun and a moon on the other side - the images signifying the change that was the solstice. Although he had nothing to wear it with, Tala made sure to put it away somewhere safe before smiling up at the male "Thanks,"

He would listen as Zael spoke of memories being valuable and being something that would make them who they were; for himself, Tala's memories had taught him to always keep on his guard, to trust his instincts and only believe the words of others when there was clear evidence to back up their claim...but then again, where were his good memories? He couldn't recall many positive points from his past, but those he'd gained from his time at the Academy had certainly turned his initial beliefs on their head - Of course, it still took him time to trust new faces, but he was learning and more surprisingly, relaxing.

At the decision to take a wander around the festival a little more, Tala would nod and rise, ensuring he had everything before walking beside Zael as they moved off towards the first of the stalls.

With the lessening masses, Tala's demeanour changed, he was full from the meat which had also settled him slightly, but with no real need to rush and plenty of stalls still open, the Shadowmancer even started to take the lead. He would naturally keep his senses alert, but when they reached a stall specialising in carved containers, Tala would pause, taking a moment to peruse the wares before picking up a box that had caught his attention.

As most of the better items had gone, the box was plain and simple, but the vendor would explain that some people liked to carve their own designs into the wood and even offered an array of knives to accompany the item. It all seemed like a good idea, but Tala would politely decline the offer of a blade and just took the box. "I think I might start collecting mementos," inspired by what his roommate had said, Tala would look towards Zael as he said this, intending the male's gift to be the first. With coin of his own, Tala would make the purchase before putting the box into his backpack.

He would stifle a growl as someone who clearly had no real idea as to where they were headed came within a few feet of him, but Tala kept the grumble to himself and straightened up, looking to Zael for the next destination.

Depending on the male's decision, Tala was quite content to follow, picking up a few extra items before finding something which he would purchase on the sly and keep to leave for Zael later on.

Vikraahm watched as the man had a confused expression on his face as he was waving him over. Vikraahm kept up with his own waving for him to come, figuring the man would figure it out soon enough without any further effort from him. As the man waltz over, Vikraahm focused a bit more on him. He had curly red hair, his height exceeded and he had a modest physique. His scarred face was now closer as well, as he could better see the three he had. Vikraahm, despite judging him completely by physical features so far, believed him to be someone worth speaking to. As he came over and asked if he was in fact who the recipient of his summons was, Vikraahm merely nodded his head with Shinshi, his scorpion, fully crawling out of the scarf and doing the same.

As the man continued speaking, Vikraahm patiently waited for him before he himself would speak. His curiosity, in Vikraahms mind, was understandable. He would likely have the same questions and may in fact have not approached the person at all. As the man continued speaking, Vikraahm only gave a confused expression as the man showed him his teeth. They seemed average and on inspection they didn't-no they did have something embedded in them. Vikraahm would calmly gaze back at the man before speaking. "Yes, on your lower jaw and between your third and fourth teeth to your right." Vikraahm would give the man a moment to perhaps try and remove the embedded item before he would continue. "We have not met. But I noticed your scars. I was curious if you had any stories we could share while we waited for food?" Vikraahm asked, blunt as usual, seeing no reason not to got directly to the point, and his curiosity causing him to ask the question in the first place. Shinshi, curiously, was raising a pincer up into the air, the other remaining at normal level. Vikraahm briefly glanced at him but had no clue what he was doing and merely ignored it.

The line moved briefly forward, with Vikraahm slowly moving to follow but keeping eye contact with this person. He realized he had gone straight to the question, and neglected the formality this land seemed to care about. Though it mattered little to him, if this man was a warrior he would respect him by following what he believed to be their custom of introducing himself. "I am known as Vikraahm. What are you known as?" Vikraahm asked, feeling no need to apologize as he has seen many people do when they don't introduce themselves before speaking. He briefly thought of introducing Shinshi, but figured he would mention it if the man decided to ask. Shinshi was still in the same curious pose, but Vikraahm gave no mind to it.

Chester was taken back by the males honesty, stating he did in-fact, have something in his teeth. He immediately covered his mouth and tried to pick out whatever the other male had stated was there. Bloody hell, what did he eat to get something stuck in his teeth? Chester messed with his teeth for a moment, forgo realizing a scorpion was against the other males shoulder. Once noticing it, Chester flinched and imminently moved back a few, finger pointing in a panic state at the scorpion. He seemingly couldn't get out the words, but surely the other male might have some concern to a SCORPION AGAINST HIS SCARF.

But just how lax Vikraahm was, Chester had gathered rather quickly that perhaps it was a companion of sorts and didn't need a good stomping. Would you stomp something like that? Chester wondered what it would take to kill a beast as such, without harming another human being along with it. He really only knew the tinnier the deadlier, and well.... this was the first time seeing one in person so... he knew not if it was tiny or rather large in comparison to the next. Best to stay on edge for a moment more.

Chester took a moment to accept the...thing as a pet or companion rather than something needing a good stomping, but once that passed he moved on to the actual conversation. Chester scratched the back of his head for a moment, releasing some awkward tension that had built up. Just why would another stranger ask about his scars? That was a first.... what should he say? "Ehh... well..." Chester stood in silence for once. He was unsure on exactly how to answer said question. "I've only just met you mate... revealing my scars... innards and outwards takes a bit more time..." He spoke hesitantly. "All you really need to know is that I did not win it valiantly.... heroic... or of any sorts." He placed hands inside his pockets.Chester gave a small sigh. "Chester is what they call me. If they call me at all." He gave a slight chuckle. Hed nudge with his head to Vikraahm "You are a student yes? Feel as if I've seen you passing before." He spoke casually. Might as well talk to the male if hes was offering company, got nothing else to do. Though it did seem odd to simply beacon someone over and bluntly ask the reason for scars...

Vikraahm watched the male suddenly react to Shinshi's presence, specifically pointing to him on his shoulder. He tilted his head slightly in confusion. 'How had he not seen him yet? he wondered, given that Shinshi had kept his presence open, though he may not have looked in that direction once he had finally come out. His reaction was more cowardly than he had expected from him, but it was likely out of caution, as he saw him step away and unable to speak. Looking between his finger and gaze, he noticed Shinshi had stopped the strange motion from earlier and was merely watching the other man. Rather than inform the man Shinshi was harmless, Vikraahm merely silently watched him to study him. He seemed to relax not too long after his initial worry, likely figuring out Shinshi was not a threat to Vikraahm himself at least.

He noticed the man's hand move to scratch the back of his head. He was still unsure if that was a gesture to indicate something or merely an itch people in this land seemed to commonly get. It certainly was not common in his village, as he had not seen it as often there as he did here. The man started to speak and then paused, seemingly unsure of where to start. Vikraahm reasoned it was either to choose which of the three scars to speak of first or merely to find the words that would properly convey the story. When he continued, he found both his assumptions to be wrong, as the man spoke of the scars as a private issue. Vikraahm momentarily had a confused expression on his face as he pondered the response. 'In this land the people don't freely talk about their conflicts? Strange. So much is hidden away with these people for little reason. He further continued to mention that his injuries did not arise in a heroic or valiant matter, which further confused him. Scars were typically born from mistakes or sacrifice. 'Both are worth mentioning, as both teach a lesson of their own.' Vikraahm thought to himself. Vikraahm decided not to pursue the line, as he had learned the hard way when one does not wish to speak of something, further inquiring rarely produced any results. He would try this...getting to know him...in order to find the answers he sought. He noticed the line move another few steps forward and moved along with it. He was not too far away from the front now, and Shinshi fully turned toward the smell of the food, again distracted.

Turning his attention back to the man, he noticed his hands were now in his pockets and he had begun speaking again. He called himself Chester, and made a remark about being summoned. He briefly thought of the name before looking at the mans chest area, not being able to discern anything too notable about it but assuming it had something to do with his name. 'Perhaps he earned the name in battle for steadfastness?" he thought to himself. He seemed to lightly laugh at it though, which perhaps meant it was given in irony for the exact opposite effect. He was curious now, but waited for the man to finish speaking, as he did not seem done yet. As he inquired about Vikraahm's current status, he would give a nod to the man and speak. "Yes, I have been given the title of student. First year as they call it." he thought briefly if he had ever seen the man before but he was unsure. He had remained relatively isolated from the others in his time here to adjust and study them. "We may have passed one another at one point in time, but I do not remember you in particular..." He paused momentarily, before continuing with the question he wanted to ask. "You say they call you Chester. Is that because there is something notable about your chest?" Vikraahm asked. In truth, he had mistakenly assumed by the mans words that Chester was a nickname given to him rather than his actual name, and as such did not merely associate it as a birth name.

"A first year?" Chester seemed surprised, looking at the male up and down. Bloody hell, the male looked older than him. "You look older than I." Chester spook truthfully. First years were roughly 13 to 15, not... well the male looked to be Chesters age or older. He continued to glance at the males figure, curious to why he was so late in the game, that or just how young the male was. Vikraahm would take yet another step toward the food. Chester would glance behind him, a few others had noted the two gathering and a few mumbled. It seemed that Chester had just jumped the line due to the older male. He'd over a small head bow before turning to speak with Vikraahm.

"No?" He seemed confused, brows furrowing slightly as he'd glance between Chesters chest and the other male. Just what... what did Vikraahm ask? If there was something notable about his chest because his name was Chester? Wha... "That is my name." Chester spoke extremely confused "You spoke of your name, I told you mine... I am confused." He seemed to give a small huff, where in the hell was this male from?

"You seem foreign to simple talk, may I ask were you are from? I cannot see you being from Valor or Trendel." Chester would speak up as the two made their way to the food. Vikraahm and his... pet would gather their food and part ways from the stand, eating whichever they preferred. Chester would remain beside him, as they spoke a little more. Vikraahm would hopefully devote to Chester the land were he originated from. Perhaps that would hint at some things, piece a few bits of a puzzle together.

But the day was coming to an end and Chester along with Vikraahm would have class the next day. "I must bid you adieu Sir Vikraahm." Chester spoke releasing a hand from his pocket and placing it against his chest "For we both have school tomorrow. A new semester in fact." Chester gave a soft nod "For me, school is extremely important." Chester would extend a hand out to shake, though for some reason he felt the male wouldn't know what to do with it. "Perhaps we will see each other in passing again, yes?" whatever Vikraahms response was, Chester would give a nod in reassurance, or conformation, and bow his head softly before exiting back to his dorms.

Vikraahm cocked his head curiously at Chester for his comment on his age. Though the others in his classes seemed younger to him, he had never thought he stuck out. The fact that the man was a fourth year had made Vikraahm assume he was older than he looked, but the man claimed he was younger. Vikraahm briefly thought on how young he was when he first started training, far earlier than the ages this man listed. However for him, he could never learn much from his homeland due to his...special raiment. He refrained from mentioning that part however, not willing to list a weakness or what his raiment was quite yet to the man.

The man said no in response to his question on the significance of what he was called. Vikraahm was confused on why he would be called something for no reason before the man continued to say that it was his birth name. His confused expression left for a more neutral one, as internally he was berating himself. If he had considered the context and not just the words, he may have known it was his birth name rather than a nickname. The man continued to speak, this time asking Vikraahm where he was from. Seeing as the man had answered his question earlier, and that there was no danger in telling him, Vikraahm responded. My origin is the Pahtavan Desert. It had been my home for many years." Vikraahm neglected to comment on his inadequacies in simple talk, as the man put it, knowing himself to be unaccustomed to the way people in this land spoke. Rather than tell the man of his failing, he would strive to work on it.

As he finished speaking, he noticed they had reached the front of the line and were presented with food. He had to grab Shinshi by the tail with one his hands to stop him from jumping. He got a small piece of meat, which he gace to Shinshi who immediately started consuming it, and for himself acquired a larger piece of meat and bread. He would eat small bites of one and then the other as he walked away from the stand with his new...he wasn't sure what to call him yet, heading in the general direction he arrived from now that his objective was complete. He stopped moving when the man started to speak again, giving him a title to his name as he decided to end their meeting. 'Rare for a person to so readily do such a thing.' Vikraahm thought to himself. As the man placed his hand over his chest and mentioned school, Vikraahm found it odd until the man mentioned its importance. "Knowledge gives a unique power to those who can wield it." Vikraahm would say, knowing all too well from his past that brute strength was not the sole source of power. As the man extended his hand out, Vikraahm wracked his mind to remember what this gesture meant. He has seen it countless times, but the why and what he was expected to do eluded him. He felt a tap on his shoulder, and as he looked at Shinshi who moved his pincers up and down he remembered. He confidently extended his hand and ended up doing a forearm clasp, holding it for a moment before letting go and retracting his arm. At his next question, Vikraahm nodded and spoke, not needing to think about the answer for this particular question. "We shall." As the man bowed and headed away from him, Vikraahm would turn away and head back to his own abode. (Exit)
