be information here your character, IC, cannot actually know. It's safe to assume that if Sven or Nyx haven't told the character directly, it's unknown.

Standing straight at 5'11, Sven is often hunched over, making him seem shorter than he actually is. His figure is slim, although not unhealthy so, nor does it bring attention. His legs are long, making pant shopping sometimes a chore, and his shoulders are wide, allowing him to fake a strength he probably lacks. He's pale, incredibly so, to the point that he looks almost ghostly as his blonde hair (which is also fairly pale in color) tends to add to the appearance. It doesn't help that, due to lack of sleep, he usually sports purple rings under his eyes, furthering the image.
While he is hygienic and keeps to a more kept dress style, his hair often misses quite a few haircut appointments. It isn't unlike Sven to just entirely leave his long, straight hair alone aside from tying it into a loose ponytail, nor does he bother trimming his bangs, which often touch his eyes. He combs it with his fingers, letting it fall as it wishes. Currently, his hair reaches his elbows, though he doesn't mind if it grows past.
His most noticeable feature is his eyes, partially because they're the brightest color on him. His eyes are a bright, vivid blue, often giving the illusion that they're staring straight through someone. He has long, full lashes that help cover his sharp shaped eyes. He also has another distinct feature that is often missed; the jagged scar over his knuckles on his right hand. He deliberately tries to hide the scar from view, but he has a habit of running his fingers over the soft pink skin.
He enjoys wearing long cardigans, loose dress pants, patterned sweaters, and generally comfortable but appealing clothes.
An observer by nature, Sven's personality lacks much excitement to it, and that's fine by him. He revels in silence, often recoiling from crowds or loud activities in favor of small gatherings and writing. He gets by in social situations by usually only offering what is asked of him, although one can pull more from a conversation if they interest him, as he's prone to asking about others due to his curiosity of how people work. Sven is hard to pinpoint, as he dodges personal questions or skims only across what is absolutely necessary in favor of focusing on his conversational partner. It isn't that he necessarily dislikes discussing himself; he just doesn't find anything worth noting. Sven has an almost airy aura to him at times. While he takes his job incredibly seriously — to the point he locks himself in his study for days at a time — his lack of presence and general softer demeanor leaves a rather aloof feeling when one is around him.
He likes people, despite his desire to keep to himself typically. He prefers experiencing the company of others while not being the direct source of entertainment. His ideal situation is being amongst a group of friends as they talk amongst themselves. Small-talk is a favorite of his, however he also genuinely feels for those he grows close to and does not shy from heavier topics. Despite his more aloof nature, Sven is skilled with comforting, lending warm arms and a thoughtful ear when needed. He is always eager to lend his assistance if he is needed.
Privacy is important to him when it comes to his home and things, which manifests in the form of nervous habits when either of those things are intruded upon. Sven is vaguely territorial, stemming from a life of being denied anything substantial of his own. Friends and invited guests are allowed in his home, but closed doors typically mean stay out; an unspoken rule made evident by his habit of herding others towards specific rooms. His possessions, for the most part, are not monitored as closely, but he does struggle with allowing others to touch his books unless he's given permission beforehand. He tidies his home regularly to ensure anything best kept from prying eyes is neatly put away where they belong.
While he's more of a quiet and gentle sort, Sven does have some flaws. He can be sensitive when it comes to his history, often growing tense or irritable if the topic is continuously brought up be someone he doesn't necessarily trust. He avoids taking care of himself, a natural habit that demonstrates itself by his lack of sleep and tendency to fccet to eat. He also is passionate, which often makes him unable to hear any other way of being when he's locked onto something. By far, his worst trait is his dishonesty about his emotions. While he isn't prone to deliberate lies, Sven is a notorious sugar-coater as well as a person who continuously lies about his own issues, causing him to bottle negative emotions until they consume him. He struggles with depression brought on by this, and relationships can grow strained if he doesn't address negative emotions as he withdraws at times. Sven is actively trying to work on this, especially more now that he's a parent.
Likes: Writing, winter, the cold, rain and storms, his home, the sea, hot cocoa, cats, cooking, children, knitting, lattes, collecting gemstones, calligraphy, and wood carving.
Dislikes: Loud sounds, summer, heat, Mondays, overly sweet food, discussing his feelings, his mother, scary movies/books, and deadlines.
Sven Beyer was born as Lucas Messer in Germany. His parents — Adalicia Messer and Christoffer Messer — were fairly agreeable when he was a young boy. His mother stayed at home to raise him, and his father was an attorney, something his mother found pride in and often tried to steer Lucas towards when mentioning careers. Unfortunately, his father lost his job around the time Lucas turned 10. As a result, the family had to change homes twice as they began to downsize while his father attempted to get back into law. His mother grew increasingly frustrated and eventually this developed into verbally and emotionally abusing Lucas as a source of relief. Everything he did was wrong unless it was an order given to him by his mother. As he began to enter his teenage years, his mother began to strike him when her emotions boiled over. His father filed for divorce immediately and retained full custody of Lucas. The pair moved to Russia shortly after Lucas turned 15 and his father started a modest shoe shop.
Lucas didn't care to learn the business, instead picking up writing as a serious option. He had always enjoyed writing short stories as a way to escape during his younger years; it only seemed natural to pursue it full-time. He went to college at the age of 19, although he dropped out when he turned 21 in favor of focusing on his work privately. He began publishing his work, but nothing he made resonated with readers.
Around when he turned 23, he met Nadia Volkov, who was studying medicine in college. Enamored by her charm and wit, Lucas fell head over heels for Nadia, and she him. They married quickly at the age of 25 and moved to Gaia, settling in Gambino. Nadia had always assumed Lucas would eventually "grow out of" writing and find a job she approached of, but as the years passed and none of his published works made an impression she began to grow increasingly distressed with her husband. Attempting to encourage him to pursue a more 'noble' field, Nadia began insisting Lucas find something else to occupy himself with. He obliged at first, but no job seemed to satisfy her. Tensions grew, and she eventually became disgusted with him and ended up cheating. This effectively ruined their relationship and she filed for divorce. A then 31-year old Lucas tried to keep their relationship together, only to throw in the towel after multiple arguments made it clear they weren't the same people they had been when 25. During this struggle, his mother had hired a private detective and found him, sending email after email insisting he come visit her during a particularly rough period of time in her life. The divorce and family issues combined caused Lucas to change his name in hopes to shed his previous life and start anew. He became Sven Beyer and moved to Durem, where he returned to writing.
He found modest success in writing short stories, but it was when he turned 39 when he finally found his breakthrough. A series called Flesh was published under his pen name and, despite being a romance trilogy which he only wrote to appease the current mass interest in supernatural romance, it became a hit almost overnight. Sven ended up on a comfortable sum of money as his series grew popular and a movie kicked off. He never revealed his face or real name, but he felt frustrated with the sudden fame due to the fact his previous work, which had been written out of passion and interest, never garnered half of the attention Flesh did. Still, he appreciated finally being able to relax in life and moved to a neighborhood by Bass'ken Lake. He learned about Lab 305 during his move and applied just as baby fever hit him. However, as the years passed he assumed he had been denied and began to fall into a deep depression as writers block hit him.
He had no clue that, at the age of 43, he'd one day find a package with a soul bottle and vial just for him. Now, Sven is preparing for the joyous life he'll soon find himself bearing witness to.

 Situated in a neighborhood near Bass'ken Lake, their home is a simple but warm one.
There are links within the descriptions to help visualize the rooms!
The Beyer home is cozy household, kept clean and warm at almost all times. While the bedrooms may not necessarily be tidy, the rooms open to the general public are kept presentable. The house has two stories, although the second story is only a large attic, which belongs entirely to Nyx. The first floor has six rooms, although only four are open for visitors to explore.
When one approaches the house, they'll notice almost immediately that it is covered in greenery. The plants outside are carefully tended to once a week by a gardener, although Sven is trying to learn how to tend for the plants himself in hopes that he could, one day, sustain the garden himself.
When one enters the house, they'll immediately find a hall. To the left is an open space where a couch rests, perfect for snuggling. Within that space are potted plants and a bookshelf. To the immediate right is the living room. The living room has a large tv mounted on the wall, and across that are couches, which are positioned against the wall. There's a few bookcases and a coffee table, as well as a small love seat by the television. Under the television is a fireplace.
One can access the kitchen from here, as there is an open archway besides the television that leads into the yellow room. Lit beautifully by the several large windows throughout the room, the kitchen has a calming affect on many who enter. The kitchen has a door on the left side to a small, yellow room with a washer and dryer inside.
Returning to the entry way, one can travel down the hall and find the bathroom on the right, next to a series of stairs that head to the attic. Across from the bathroom is Sven's study, which is always closed off to others. The room is surrounded in bookcases, and has a table against the windows and a desk off towards the right of the room.
Sven's bedroom is difficult to access, as under the stairs is a little door that leads into a small, closet-like space that has another door, which is the entrance to his room. He likes that his room is hidden from most prying eyes. Up the stairs is a large attic, which has been converted into Nyx's room.
Sven's room is incredibly dark, and that's the way he likes it. Cluttered with various objects and books he's determined are important, Sven's room is very unlike the personality he shows to outsiders. It's brooding, almost, and has a mess that seems unlike the typically neat man. For Sven, he likes his room to feel like a nest; somewhere he can hide and almost be lost in when things get rough. It is his space, made evident by personalized decorations throughout the room. The wall his bed is against is almost entirely a bookshelf, cluttered hundreds of books and knick knacks. His bed is often the only neat thing within the room, kept made and clean. The shelf connected to the bottom of the bed often has rough drafts of his work or coffee cups on it, a reminder of the life outside his room.
When one turns away from the bed, they'll find a door that leads to a sparse closet. He doesn't have many clothes, and the clothing he does have are often neutral or natural colors. To the left of the room is the only source of natural light; a large window adorned with various plants and candles. The window is often open, otherwise the room gets stuffy rather fast due to the numerous books and trinkets.
By the door is a cat tree, where is cat typically can be found at night. Sven likes to decorate the tree with various cat toys, making the small furniture one of the few brighter and playful things within the dreary room.
Nyx's room takes up the entire attic. It's a rather large room, sectioned off into three parts; the main area where her bed can be found, a small bathroom, and a reading nook. The stairs can be found at the end of the hallway where Sven's office and bedroom are. When one climbs up the stairs, they'll immediately be brought into the main room, which is decorated with fairy lights. Her bed is often messy, covered in various toys and crafts when she isn't around. Her room is often decorated with various knick knacks Sven buys for her, and things she finds that she's deemed interesting. Often, she'll string up decorations throughout her entire room, only to grow bored and eventually redecorate a month later. Her fairy lights are permanent, due to her fear of the dark, and a string of stars and moons decorate the area above her bed.
If one enters the bathroom, which is found to the left of her bed, they'll find a small bathroom, decked in white tile and white furniture, that is rarely used and lacks any decor. The bathroom opens into a walk-in closet, which is the only reason she really pops into the bathroom.
Across from her bed is the other side of the room, where a reading nook is! All her books except the ones on the tiny shelf above the stairs entering her room can be found here. The seat is cushioned, and often Nyx likes to nap in her tiny nook. The bookshelves surrounding her nook don't only house books, though, as she's prone to placing knick knacks within the shelves to help make it feel more 'homey'.
Her room is often in a state of mild disaster, as she's prone to throwing her stuffed animals and clothes around. She's allowed to keep things in the order she likes, as long as her room isn't dirty, so blankets and pillows can be found in almost every nook and corner of her bedroom.

Eleanor "Ellie" Woods: | 36 years old | #5ac67b
Sven's editor, who also happens to be one of his only friends. Ellie is a small (5'4) but strong woman who keeps Sven on his toes. She has a bad habit of focusing on the lives of others to avoid her own issues, often dodging any questions about herself and growing irritable if concern is shown. She is passionate about her job and kickboxing, but is also prone to picking up new hobbies at the blink of an eye. She's always on, constantly seeking some new stimulus to keep herself motivated for the day. Ellie views Sven fondly, although she finds his inability to properly feed himself or sleep properly frustrating, often taking matters into her own hands and forcing him to tend to his needs. While she might seem to bulldoze Sven at times, she is keenly aware of his boundaries and does her best to respect them. This does not extend to calling before entering his house, however.
Jackson Woods: | 16 years old | #8b9d9e
Ellie's nephew; he differs from his aunt more than he shares similarities. Jackson has a negative view on life, believing it's always out to get him no matter what he does. He speaks with tension, as if what he is saying might be judged. Jackson is reclusive and irritable, withdrawing quickly into himself if one happens to make him uncomfortable. Skilled with technology, Jackson is actually practicing hacking. He's pretty damn good at it, too, although he's careful who he tells about his talent. Flustered easily, he's actually incredibly shy for his age and half of his temper is fueled by his awkwardness. He's not a huge fan of Ellie, as she tends to get into his personal space more often than not, but he does reach out to her when times get tough, as he's afraid of disappointing his parents should he confide in them.
Diego Quigley: | 17 years old | #cf1c25
Diego is an odd one, made apparent the second his mouth opens. Hispanic and Irish, his accent tends to immediately confuse those around him. His actions tend to be the tipping point, as he's an eccentric young man with a taste for peculiarity. Unpredictable but friendly, Diego is either someone one loves or hates, as he doesn't know what personal space is and is always chattering. Curious, he doesn't believe in danger and often throws himself right into it. He's always on the hunt for more, whether that be a new location or information. Diego loves the supernatural and vehemently claims to be a vampire — he is not. Although, he is on the hunt for someone to convert him.
Aneisdora "Nessie" Newt: | ??? years old | #3b2893
A woman of odd habits, Nessie enjoys keeping a mysterious barrier between her and others. Perhaps it's defensive, or maybe she genuinely is a conundrum to behold, but Sven doesn't seem too perturbed by it. While she looks younger than he does, settling comfortable in an image that most definitely feels mid 20's, she enjoys calling herself old. What she says often isn't what she means, instead nipping at the heels of something else, making conversations with her sometimes impossibly frustrating. She's aware of this, and revels in it, subjecting Sven to her word games at whim. However, she holds a subtle fondness for him, apparent when she shows a more playful and impatient side. She has a temper, which releases in a whirlwind of accusations which create a rift between her and Sven time to time. She has an insecurity he has yet to pinpoint, and withdraws from attempts for closeness. There's a loneliness that surrounds her, suffocating Sven at times. He's still trying to figure out what's wrong, and if he can be of any help to the reclusive witch.

While their meeting was brief, Shoshana was one of the key reasons Sven became re-interested in Lab 305, and why he later went to the barbecue. Shoshana has only met Sven, but it was a pleasant encounter at a fair where Sven ended up buying Shoshana a pendant.

A friendly face met at the library, Cordelia and Adrian helped Sven in his research for souls. Sven promised to stop by the store sometime, and he intends to keep that promise.

Someone Sven grew fond of, as they both had bottles at the same time. While Nina went ahead and received her raevan before him, he still feels particularly close to her in experience. She's someone he sees as cool-headed and a confidant should he need it.
