After several hours of training outside, Catherine had eaten breakfast and taken a shower before retreating to the dorms. The skirt part of her casual dress reached close to her ankles, though it billowed with each step that she took. Her long hair cascaded like a waterfall, reaching almost close to her waist. Right now, she was in the mood to have it braided, but she needed help first. There were her servants before that tended to her appearance, but then she had to rely on some outside assistance ever since the day she was enrolled into the academy.

For now, she brushed her hair, having to glide it down cautiously as to not ruin her look. She had been pampered back then, savoring the relaxation of the royal bathroom reserved for her family. But now, using the special toiletries designed to keep her appearance healthy would suffice, even with the typical commoner facilities that every student had to utilize including herself. Catherine hummed a song, the one that her father used to serenade to her back in the old days, as she kept on brushing her mane.

Griselda had been training like Catherine was, although at a different location and a bit longer than her since she had to rest her left heel often. Today's training session proved more successful than most. This is mostly due to her heel taking longer to become sore. All those exercises she has been doing to improve the condition of her heel is starting to pay off. Still, it took her longer to complete her training in comparison to Catherine, therefore by the time she finished and went to the facilities to clean herself, the princess had already left. Not that she be aware of Catherine training and using the facilities in their dormitories later. All she knew is that the princess is her roommate and that when she woke up, Catherine was not there. Once Griselda finished cleaning herself up and put on a change of clothes, she walked to her room hoping to recuperate from her intense training session. Lo and behold is the princess brushing her hair. Even though the two of them are dressed casually, Catherine's outfit made her look pristine in comparison to what many might consider Griselda's clothes slightly better than rags. She must look ridiculous to the princess, but this is all her father can afford. Not wanting to interrupt Catherine's hair brushing and humming, she quietly moved toward her side of the room and sat down on her bed. She picked up a simple brush from her bedside table and started brushing her own hair. She didn't brush it too much because all she intended on doing afterward was to tie her hair into a high ponytail.

A thought just occurred to Griselda: her roommate is a princess. Would noble and/or royal families be upset about this? Is Catherine not happy that a commoner like Griselda is her roommate? She wouldn't take it personally if the princess did feel upset. After all, what member of royalty would want to share a room with someone of a lower class that contrasts hers in about every way? Catherine hadn't say anything yet, but Griselda has been setting herself up to hear the complaints. After she finished brushing her hair, she tied her hair into a long ponytail and remained sitting on her bed, although she is feeling a little bit restless and nervous since she is in the presence of royalty.

The humming kept on going for several more minutes considering that the song was an ornate one. Her eyes were closed, imagining the garden situated in the castle as well as the forest that served as her serene spot, back when she was carefree. When her humming ceased, crimson eyes were locked onto her roommates, who was actually feeling nervous. Knowing that she didn't have any other choice, her gaze was straight before voicing out. Actually, she didn't know Griselda that much yet even with the time that they had spent together throughout her education in the academy.

"Say, do you know how to do braids? I ended up getting tired of the usual ponytail." Griselda's coordination may not be flawless, but she had no options left to keep her hair tidied up at this moment. As long as the other girl would know to keep the touch gentle on her hair, then it would a good one.

Griselda froze momentarily when Catherine spoke to her but relaxed almost immediately when she was asked if she knew how to do a braid. She doesn't do braids often since they are usually for special occasions like family birthdays and formal gatherings. Not that she ever went to formal gatherings but it always felt nice to imagine herself in one. After taking a deep breath, she stood up from her bed and slowly approached the princess. What kind of braid did Catherine want? Griselda can do a simple single braid easily, but other braids might take her a bit more time to do. The thought of touching the princess hair made her blush a slight pink, but she didn't notice this. Once she was close enough to where her soft spoken voice can be heard, she asked,

"Uh...um...a-any specific braid you want?"

The question was laced with nervousness, Cathy had heard of that obviously. Plus, the blush on Griselda's cheeks was obviously there. Was there any other reason aside from being flustered? The princess wasn't completely sure about the exact reason but decided not to ask about it. More importantly, the clouds had obscured the sun quite a bit so the light wouldn't be too blinding, thus casting fewer shadows into the room. The red-head paused for several seconds before finally voicing out an answer.

"Whatever you can do best as long as my look is still decent," she spoke as she finally put down the brush. Cathy opened the drawer, revealing an assortment of bands that were suited for her hair. Her dorm mate was free to pick whatever she would want to use from there for that simple task.

Griselda has been given free reign to do as she pleases so long the final result of the braid looks decent. She isn't sure if Catherine is just lowering her standards since a commoner will be touching her hair and attempting to make a good hairstyle out of this. What braid should something like Catherine have? It could be simple like Griselda is accustomed to, but she shouldn't be lazy about it. What will that say about her? That she is fine with the bare minimum? That would be horrible! As she stood behind her, ideas ran through her head until she figured out something that just might work. When she grabbed some of the princess's hair, her heart skipped a beat. It felt so soft and nice. She couldn't help rubbing it in between in her fingers for a couple of seconds before she refocused on the task at hand. Like weaving a basket, she carefully and meticulously tied the hair together until she formed the royal crown braid. She figured that the princess would appreciate a look since it looked like a crown. Griselda certainly liked how it looks on her. It took her a few minutes to accomplish this but she can only hope that Catherine will like it.

Catherine felt the firm tugging of her mane by Griselda's hands as the other was working on the braid. She closed her eyes, having to somewhat trust the skills of her room mate. As soon as the question was asked to her, she lifted her eyelids to inspect the look of the handwork. It turned out that Griselda had just finished the royal crowd braid and Catherine had shifted her head side to side to check if there were a few imperfections here and there. Her lips formed a small pout as if she was a blowfish but nodded slowly.

"I'll still give it a satisfactory grade. Not the same as my servants' handwork, but I still like it nonetheless," her mouth then formed a small smile as she spoke the next words. It was definitely a different experience having to hair braided by someone else other than her servants, but it wasn't so bad, after all.

Did Catherine like her braid? Griselda tried her best to attempt something she hadn't done before. From her perspective, her handiwork isn't too shabby. Certain spots in the braid could've been better, but that depends on whether Catherine wants them fixed or not. Relief and happiness poured over Griselda when the princess told her that her work is satisfactorily. This is quite the compliment to receive from someone of royal class. Right now, she can breathe easily and admire the work that she did with Catherine's hair. She turned her head to the side, using her ponytail to hide the pink blush forming on her cheeks, and responded in a soft tone toward Catherine,

"T-Thank you. I...I-I never attempted something like this before...I...I-I'm glad you like it..."

Catherine then noticed that Griselda's ponytail was used to hide the blush coating her room mate's face and secretly found it to be stunning. Wait, what was she thinking? Having to possess that thought so suddenly? The princess mentally slapped herself on the head for that, having to calm herself down; the redhead still had to show some dignity since she was of royal blood. She stood up from her chair, the red mane as well as her face glistening under the sun's rays. The braid did add a personal touch to her look while still retaining the appearance that she was mostly associated with.

"Say, I'm in the mood for some fresh air outside even after training. Wanna come along with me?" she asked. It was mainly because she had nothing else to do inside the dorm room. Also, she was in the mood for wanderlust since the weather was perfect for the occassion.

Since the braiding is over, Griselda figured that she just relax for the rest of the day. That may not be the case this time around. Catherine asked her if she wanted to go outside for some fresh air. That is, go outside for fresh air with the princess herself. This can't be a joke right? At orientation, she invited her to go to the festival to have some food, later to witness her train and demonstrate a bit of her own skills. Now she is invited once more to spend time with Catherine. Maybe...just maybe...no. Griselda is probably looking into this much more than she ought to be. Catherine must be doing this just to be nice and help the warrior peasant overcome her social awkwardness. Regardless, fresh air without the interruption of intense training should be enjoyed every once in a while. Fortunately her blush had faded away and despite the pounding of her chest from previous thoughts she had about implications behind Catherine's words, she removed her ponytail from her face and responded shyly to Catherine's invitation,

"Ah...Y-Yes! T-That would be nice. F-Fresh air...uh...I-It does the mind and body good..."

There it was again, the stuttering tone that became the common trait for Griselda especially when she's near Cathy. Again, the princess found it cute- Wait, her mind must be playing tricks on her again and she mentally slapped herself once more to calm herself. Trying to collect her bearings, she fetched the satchel containing her money, being the only possession that she would bring for today. There would be no carriage escorting her to different places since she was currently a student, but Cathy was used to exercising so she wouldn't mind traveling on foot.

"Let's go," she spoke before heading off into the sunny day, allowing the other to follow her. The next stop would be to the market district. Maybe she might find something good among the stores situated there, but she may have to see it for herself.

Since Griselda will be going on a little trip with Catherine, it must be important to bring along something that will carry a few things. What she has isn't a satchel, but a carrying bag that she can attach to her waist with a leather belt. This carrying bag is some money and good luck charm previously handed down to her by her father. Whatever shall happen when the two of them are out and about is unclear, but she can't help but feel giddy about spending some time with the princess, even if its just getting fresh air. Should she bring her weapons with her in case they end up getting into trouble or trouble finds them? Perhaps not. The likelihood of trouble, especially in Valor, is low. Besides, even without her weapons, she can still put up a decent fight if she must and no doubt the princess can do the same. Once tied the carrying bag around her waist with a leather belt, she followed the princess out of their dorm room, shut the door behind them and followed her to wherever she is going.

With everything that was occurring today in the Elementor classroom, and with Griselda still having to heal her injured heel, Catherine did need to settle down in the room for a bit before moving on to get some lunch for them both. She had to guide the girl on her bed before checking on the affected foot, removing the shoes beforehand. The pain wasn't as prominent as the last time, but still, both of them would have to take a break from physical training thanks to the doctor's advice. Now, the princess was conflicted on whether to attend the cooking electives or still move on to the advance combat classes with Ms. Falkov. But that answer have to be within herself, which would have to wait for the time being.

After the princess was done treating the injured heel with the proper medicine, together with the replacement of bandages, she asked her room mate about what she would like to have for lunch. "Will pick something up from the cafeteria. Anything that you want to have for today?" If the cooking class would be something she would like to attend to tomorrow, she would better pick up some basic recipes. Though still, it would be unlikely that her effort would be the same as the chefs serving for her castle back then.

With Catherine's help, Griselda was able to return her dorm room, whom she shares with the very princess who helped her get there. At this point, Griselda figured she would be eased on to her cozy bed and Catherine would be off to go get food. Surely she must be hungry, especially with the food analogies she was making earlier. For someone her size, she certainly has a voracious appetite. When Griselda was on her bed, she was able to remove her shoe to check on her heel. It is not hurting like it did yesterday, but it still is not easy to walk around. However, Catherine beat Griselda to it. Not only did the princess remove her shoe, she basically became her nurse for the next few minutes. Her left hand clasped the part of her clothing that covered her chest as if she was trying to hide the rapid beating of her heart as she watched this lovely princess caring for her. Griselda's face became pink once again, and she felt sad when Catherine stopped touching her foot. Finally, she is free to go get food from the cafeteria, although she offered Griselda to pick up some food for her. She was going to refuse until her stomach growled. There is no use lying, so she said to Catherine,

"S-Soup...S-Soup is fine...Uh...Y-You can take some money from me...f-for the soup."
