Dacian looked around the forest looking for his mother. He was nervous and so excited that he was almost jumping out of his skin. He hoped his mother would also be excited. He and Deneb had finally succeeded in a successful breeding and they now had three foals slowly growing in their baskets. He was incandescently happy to have finally fathered foals. Unlike his parents or his sister he had not had a breeding with a lifemate. Dacian wasn't sure he would ever have a lifemate or a lovemate but he still hadn't had a deep relationship that had both friendship and romance. However even though he hadn't developed a deep romantic love he still had desired a family of his own. He had meet Deneb in the woods. He felt some attraction to her but she felt like more of a close friend to her. She had had two breeding in the past but she had felt like she had failed at motherhood. However she wanted to try again and Dacian wanted to help her. He wanted daughters or sons that would share his blood. His sister Regin had brought her adult sons to the Forrest for to visit the family. Since the visit , he had felt a yearning that for some time he couldn't explain. Then after he meet Deneb and heard her story he suddenly knew what he wanted was to have his own children. He and Deneb had secretly tried to have offspring over several years and at last they had been gifted three beautiful girls.

Sumire walked down a small forest path. She had walked down this path many times over many years. The path had grown familiar like an old friend. She could be blindfolded and could still walk the path with little trouble. Some places along the path had zero to no light so walking with a blindfold wouldn't be extremely hard since she had walked in the dark for many years. Up ahead in one of the more lit portions of the path she could see her son Dacian ahead. Dacian had come from her and her lifemates 2nd breeding and he was the eldest of her 2nd set of foals. Dacian was swaying back and forth like he couldn't contain his energy. Sumire wondered what had caused her son to vibrate with such excitement. She had been looking for Dacian to inform him that his sister and his nephew had arrived to stay with them during the warmer months. Her daughter spent most of the year with her lifemate and their two sons. However during the hottest months of the year her daughter came back to the woods to stay . Sumire didn't know what her daughter saw in the desert to make her love it but Regin seemed to love the desert almost as much as she did her lifemate. Dacian would be relieved that his sister and nephew had made it safely from the desert to the woods . It was a long dangerous journey but Regin and her grandson were tough resourceful soq. Sometimes they traveled with companions or her other grandson but this year they made the journey by themselves. Sumire was glad of the visit but she preferred when her daughter and grandson traveled with others. The soq lands could be very dangerous. It was at times like this that Sumire was glad her grandson Calavera was so big and fierce looking. Luckily he took after his father though Sumire had never meet the male. Calavera , did not inherit his mothers petite nature and no one would thin looking at him that he came from a moth line. Calavera just looked like the kind of soq few wold mess with. He was also practical and had a lot of fighting experience. Calavera was also very protective of his dainty mother who was more fierce then she looked. However Regin seldom had to fight since she was surrounded by a fierce mate and two giant sons . For such a little mare her offspring were fierce predators of the desert.

Maybe the reason Dacian was so excited was that he had already discovered that his elder sister and Calavera were already here, days ahead of schedule. Still while Dacian was always happy to see his elder sister, he usually wasn't this excited. Sumire was quite curious to see why her grown up adult son was acting like a frisky colt.

Dacian eyes widened as he made out the figure of his mother approaching. Her body melded perfectly well with the darkness but her big luminous wings stood out against her dark surroundings. Dust from her wings trailed out behind her. The dust from her wings could briefly paralyze an enemy. He did not inherit that gift from her bloodline, it was a nifty gift one that he would have happily received. However it was to be expected, it was a common gift for full bloodied moths but he was not full blooded. Few soq of mixed moth blood were gifted the dust and not many full bloodied moths existed. It seemed strange but all the moths of his mothers generation had been born female. Most of the moths of his mothers generation tried to pair up with flutter soq because they were in many ways similar. His mother never a conformist decided to pair up with his father who did not have wings and was not from a family line that had wings. It was no wonder that Dacian and his siblings were not the typical moth family. His eldest sibling and only sister Regin had no wings , and both he and his brother Vedastu lacked antenna . It was only his brother Aquilo who was the Model of a Moth except for the lack of magical dust. Unlike his sister Regin, Dacian did have wings but his wings were quite small. He could hoover easily but flying for long distances was exhausting. Really he could only comfortably fly for a few minutes at the most. He hoped that at least one of his and Deneb daughters would have wings. While he couldn't fly long or very much. When he did fly , he enjoyed the feeling and he hoped one of his daughters would also receive the freedom that flying brought.

Regin was bone tired weary, even muscles she usually took for granted were protesting from daily use. She had been traveling for many weeks over rough terrain. While it was tedious to travel for such a long time, she needed to every year. The heat of the desert months was too much for her to bear. She had not been born in the desert, though now she lived most of the year there. She was still not used to dealing with the heat during the summer months. Her lifemate probably thought she was being a bit of a wimp by not fighting the heat . However Regin was smart, she knew Mother Nature was not an easily defeated enemy. Heat was not something to take lightly. Hot temperatures could easily kill a soq. She did not have her husband's resistance to the heat. He had been born to the desert wilderness and was accustomed to the hot temperatures and lack of water. The heat did not bother her as much as when she first moved to the desert and had almost lost her life to the heat and lack of water. Fortunately during that time she had met her lifemate who had saved her and had shown her how to survive in the desert land. She had built up some resistance to high temperatures but she still wasn't as good a dealing with the heat as a true desert native. While traveling from the desert to the woodlands was exhausting it was a relief to finally be at her birthplace. The Woodlands a comfortable and still felt like home. When she was at the desert she missed the woodlands and when she was in the Woodlands after a few weeks she longed for the desert. It was hard so far apart from her lifemate. They loved each other but we're a very independent couple. They probably spent more time apart and they did together but she liked knowing he was relatively close by. He was a free spirit of the desert and she a more private personality. Their relationship might not work for others but it's suited them. It was enough that they had agreed to be partners . They we're faithful and devoted to each other. Their relationship quite different from her parents who were very lovey-dovey with each other. Her father was her mothers protector but her mother was the one who made most of the decisions regarding the safety and well-being of the family. Her mother was tiny even tinier than herself and she was considered to be quite small. However mother was a firecracker who was very headstrong and who never give up. She admired those characteristics of her mother. ---458 words---

Calavera followed his mother as she made her way deeper in the woods. He carefully watched her for signs of exhaustion. It had been a long trip, it had seemed longer than normal though it hadn't taken them longer then what was usual. His mother had been in hurry to make the journey as fast as possible. He could understand her worry, sometimes his brother came with them but most of the time he stayed in the desert. Usually it was Calavera close friend Trehan and Trehan's father who made the journey with them. Trehan's hooves were actually claws and not just the front but all hooves had claws. Dangerous Soq tended to stay far away from Trehan because he looked like a harpy and male harpies were seldom away from an escort of female harpies. Few wanted to tangle with harpies, they are a dangerous breed of soq that other soq were wise to fear. It had been rumored that the female harpies were being more aggressive in their search for male harpies. Both Trehan and his father were the type of males that female harpies would want to capture. Trehan especially since he was part harpy. Trehan mother had secretly had Trehan and his sister far away from the harpies herd land. Their mother wanted to give her first offspring a choice about entering the harpy herd. Neither Trehan or his sister were particularly keen on the idea of joining the herd. Their father wanted to protect them the best he could so this year the pair had decided not to make the journey to the woods this time. It was just too dangerous this time and they had already sacrificed much to not be discovered. So this year it was just Calavera acting as guardian for his mother during her annual tour across the soq lands. He hadn't minded much but he could tell his mother was more nervous than usual and she had urged him to make then journey as fast as possible, He believed his mother thought he could protect them but felt it was better not to risk the potential that he could get seriously hurt if it was just him protecting them He hoped she didn't think a female harpy would try to snatch him. After all he didn't have wings, though many with his blood line did have wings. His grandmother had beautiful big moth flutter wings and his uncles had moth flutter wings in various sizes. However Harpies seemed more interested in catching males with feathered wings. Since he didn't have feather wings or flutter moth wings he figured he was safe enough from capture by a harpy. Plus he was a rather big scary fellow especially when he wore his skull mask. He didn't look like he would make a good subservient fellow.

Just as Dacian was about to approach his mother he heard a whinnying neigh off in the distance. He stopped unsure for a moment, he looked at his mother in confusion before he fully processed his thoughts. While the sound had come from a distance the cry was still somewhere in the woodlands. Few soq were familiar enough with the woodland to enter it's depths. The cry also sounded familiar as if he knew the soq. His thoughts finally settled in one direction and he now knew what the cry had met. Smiling to himself his mind was aloft in happiness. He turned to his mother and he raised his eye brows and gave her a look that was silently telling her -come on get with the program. Of course he would never say words of that nature to his mom. She had taught him to be respectful and when he wasn't she knew how to bite him where it most hurt. Despite her small stature his mother was a fierce creature and she had instilled discipline into him. Of course he loved his mother but he also respected her as his herd leader.

Dacian headed towards the sound his legs pumping quickly and his breath heavy with excitement. He felt twigs try to grab hold of his hair but he was moving swift and a few lost mane hairs were nothing to cry .He would hardly notice their absence he wasn't a vain creature. His mother was hot on his heels keeping up with him even though she was much smaller in stature. Dacian was narrowing down to where he heard Deneb neigh out a calling. He finally reached the spot in the forest that cry came from. He was correct in his thoughts it had finally happened but he was still surprised and a bit in shock. The three baskets containing lay on their sides and three wobbly female foals were trying to gain control of their legs. It was rather cute to watch the girls as they took their first steps. One of the girls took after Deneb and he saw a gleam in her eye that he recognized as trait of stubbornness she might have inherited from his mother. The other two a set of twins took after him. One of the twins especially looked like him and she flapping her tiny wings trying to dry them,
Deneb stood off in a corner watching a soft smile on her face. She looked happy and a bit worried. Dacian was glad to see her smile, she had seldom smiled in front of him. As for her worry he would do his best to relieve her anxiety. He knew that she felt she had failed her foals from her two previous breedings. It was his first breeding but he did not have the same anxiety she felt. He knew the foals would be well cared for, they would do their best. Besides his family was nearby and he knew they would step up and try to help.

Sumire followed close behind her son's galloping footsteps. He seemed nervous his fast and his coat sides in a lather. She was worried whatever had gotten him this excited, she had never seen him act this way. He was usually very calm and seemed focused even during battle. Sumire's worry for her son gave her a bust of energy that helped her follow swiftly after Dacian. Up ahead he suddenly stopped his body still as if in shock. So fast did he stop that she was afraid she was going to run into hip. She hurriedly stopped herself from falling into him. She could still not see what had caused her son to stop . He was much taller then she was having inherited his height and body build from her lifemate. Instead she had to walk to the side of him since he didn't seem to be capable of moving. Her eyes widened in amazement as she saw three tiny foals try to walk. She knew her son was trying to have foals with a mare he had met. She knew it wasn't a love match but her son seemed fixated on the idea of having offspring. She was glad he and Deneb had finally accomplished their goal of having foals. Sumire was happy to have more grand-babies especially since her eldest daughter Regin had her offspring in the desert and she hadn't met her first set of grandchildren until they were adults. She had been waiting to have some grand babies that she could spoil . Still she felt like giving her son Dacian a hard bite on the should that would bruise for a week afterword. What was the boy thinking that he had not told her that he and Deneb had finally been successful in their breeding attempts. She was happy for him but at the same time the mamma bear residing in her was growling and the reason for that was the misbehavior of her cub. News of that nature was important and joyous . Her boy should have told the family the instant he found out. She would tell him of her disapproval at a later time , she didn't want to ruin this moment for the new parents. As she gazed at the newly emerged foals she felt her heart overflow with feeling. She was happy to see another generation with moth blood. There was not many moth soq in the soq lands and no pure male moths. They were a rare bloodline so this new generation was especially special to the older generation. Two of the girls even had little mini moth wings. Like their father they wouldn't be able to fly long distances but at least they would enjoy the freedom wings brought. Sumire had seen how her eldest Regin had suffered by not having wings and she was glad that several of dacian's girls had wings. As for the other girl who took after her mother, she would shower her with extra love. So the foal wouldn't feel that she wasn't loved as much as her sisters. Sumire would love any soq of her bloodline regardless if they showed moth traits.

Calavera went on high alert and his body naturally flowed into a protective stance in front of his mother. Something had happened somewhere in the woodlands. Even the birds were cautious but many were still chirping far away. If a Kalona or skin walker had entered the woodlands all the birds would have been silent trying to avoid notice. Calavera was on alert but he was not expecting to be attacked, birds were a good indicator of danger. In the desert birds flew by and some lived within its boundaries but the desert did not have the same number of bird inhabitants. He had not learned to listen to the birds from his father who had taught him many lessons on how to be a survivalist. Instead it was his mothers younger brother Dacian, who like his father was a warrior and a strong opponent. Dacian had lived his whole life in the woods and he seemed content to stay in the woods and the area surrounding the woodlands. Dacian had taught him to always stay alert but to watch the woodland animals. The animals were good at keeping a watch over their surroundings. The silence of birds could be indication that some disturbance was happening in the woodlands. The clamor of bird calls could also mean that a water source or food source was nearby. Other animals could also be watched and listened for. Dacian had once told him, " It's good to be aware of your surroundings but your eyes can only see so far. Now if you listen with your ears you can hear others who can also keep watch far beyond your capabilities. " His practical uncle had given him sound advice like always. He didn't mind learning what he could from his uncle since his uncle always taught him valuable lessons.

His eyes scanned the nearby woodland in sweeping motions. His ears twitched back and forth as he tried to pinpoint the direction in which the birds seemed the most silent. After what seemed to be quite some time but was only a minute he had made a decision . He turned back to his mother who was still behind him."Something is going on, but I'm not sure what has happened. Their is a disturbance deeper in the woodlands. The disturbance seems to be coming from the part of the woods that is Moth territory. I don't believe any in the moth herd are in danger but something has occurred. I cannot say that I am one-hundred percent sure their exists no danger. So I would like to investigate the disturbance by myself. Will you be fine waiting here alone while I go investigate what kind of disturbance has bothered some of the woodland wildlife? "

Regin raised her eyebrows and narrowed her gaze at her son in what could only be classified as an outraged expression. Most of the time she was happy she had her sons but at moments like this she questioned her decision. She and her mate loved their offspring and had attempted to have foals for many years before they were successful. Still did the spirits have to have fun with her by sending her two males. Not only were both her offspring boys, but they had inherited her mothers stubbornness and their fathers bullheadedness. When they put their mind to something it was like hitting against a rock wall. It was especially hard to change their mind. It was painful and almost impossible but she was a force in her own right. She had lived with a mother known for her stubbornness and a mate who was set in his ways. In her youth she had traveled much of the soq lands by herself though she had meet her fam on her travels and together they had journeyed to the desert. For several weeks she and her fam had struggled to survive in the desert before she had met her mate and he had taught her how to live in the desert comfortable. She was strong physically and even strong willed. No offspring of her's was going to leave her alone out of harms way like one would a young foal. She needed to knock some sense into him. She felt safe traveling with him and knew he would protect her and she liked that both her sons were so much bigger then her. It was a bit vain of her but she enjoyed showing off her family to other soq. The three giant males in her family that often surrounded her made quite the impression . Many mares had cast envious glances her way when they traveled as a group.

However while she deeply loved Calavera, she was putting her hooves down. This time he was not getting his way, she was not going to stand back and watch him run into the woods to investigate a possiable dangerous situation. She was no princess but a warrior in her own right and she could be every bit a pig headed as the males around her. Regin had grown up in the woodlands and while she had lived in the desert for many years the woods were still a very familiar place. Calavera had journeyed with her before and had stayed in the woodlands for months with the moth herd. However the woodlands were her childhood home, she was far more familiar with the woods than her son. "I am the mother that means I lead the way into what could be a dangerous situation. You are my foal no mater how old you and it is my duty to protect you. If you want to be stubborn go ahead but know I am much more familiar with this area then you are," Regin said to her son while arching up an eyebrow as if daring him to contradict her.

Daria tumbled out of her basket and was stunned by her surroundings. It was much lighter outside her basket. Most soq would be stunned by the lack of light in the forest but Daria only knew life while she formed inside her mother and while she developed further inside her basket. She had little memory of the brief time when she was rushed into the basket as she still needed time to develop. Her eyes blinked rapidly as she tried to make out her surroundings. Some light came pouring through trees and while she had little concept of what was around her and what each object was called she did however recognize her parents. For some time she and her sisters had stayed in the baskets growing steadily strong enough to survive the world outside their baskets. While she couldn't see world outside she could however hear much of the world outside her baskets. The first voices she herd were her parents who would often talk nearby. Her mother voice had a nice tone to it but it sometimes seemed pitched with worry. She heard whispered tones between her parents that her mother feared she would fail them as she had done her first two breedings. He father would often reassure her mother that this time would be different he would also raise the foals and his family would also see that the girls were taken care of.

Her father often would secretly come near their baskets and talk to them. Sometimes he would sing to them but most of the time he would tell them stories. He often told them stories about his youth and his siblings. Most of the time it talked about his brother Aquilo who came from the same breeding. He and his brother were from his parents 2nd breeding and they had a big age difference between them and their elder siblings. However from time to time his stories would also feature his elder siblings. Especially his eldest brother, his only sister had moved to the desert before he was born. However Dacian would often tell them how he and his brothers would play tricks on their sister Regin when she returned. With a joke that they were making up for lost time. Most of the time however, he told them of his home in the woods. He would tell them of the forest and what the forest loam smelled like. Dacian would tell them about what the forest was like after it rained and about the forest depths. He would often speak of the bio-luminescent mushrooms deep in the forest. Some soq believed that the mushroom circles were proof that fairy soq once lived in the forest. Dacian would tell them all sorts of legends about the fairy's . She hoped that someday she would meet a fairy soq, though in some of her fathers stories they were very fearsome beings. They were tricksters and their honeyed words could not be trusted.

Dacian was entranced by the emergence of his daughters from their baskets. All three of them already seemed to be filled with personality. He felt like he had made the right decision. While it might be unusual in his family to have offspring with sooq that wasn't a life mate it had worked out well for him . He did not love Deneb but she was a friend and together they had made beautiful girls. He did not regret his decisions to have foal before he found a mate. When he found a mate he hoped the female would be accepting of his girls and he would accept any offspring she had previously. Not all families shared the same blood line and he would love any offspring his mate had. His Family had always been special and more family members would be a gift. He had always dreamed of a female mate with big or small wings. He hoped she was have a beautiful coat color but most important would be her personality. She needed to be kind and caring. He hoped they would be best friends as well as lovers. However some small part of him acknowledged his dream of a future mate might be just a dream. Not all soq were as lucky as his parents or his sister. His brothers did not have mates and it did not seem like they were interested in looking for any kind of companionship. He did not know what the future would bring and if he brothers would venture out of the woods to find females but part of him doubted they would trouble themselves with having offspring. His brothers only thought about the present and a female who have to throw herself at either one of them to get their attention.

Part of the reason he agreed to have foals with Deneb was that a part of him thought he might never again have the chance of siring offspring. He would rather father foals with a friend then not have foals at all. While his sister Regin had two sons they did not live in the forest. It would be sad if the history of the woodland moths ended in his generation. He knew that while his mother never said anything to her daughter Regin. A part of Sumire mourned the fact that she hadn't seen her first set of grand foals until both boys were grown up. Dacian wanted to have his foals while his parents were still alive . It was important that his mother and his offspring have some sort of bond with each other. Perhaps his girls could help his mother mend her heart and help grant her wishes. Dacian knew the Deneb was also weary about having foals again. He sincerely wished that the foals would grant the wishes of both Deneb and his mother.

Daria walked on wobbly legs towards her father. Several times she stumbled but slowly she started to be able to control her legs at least a little bit. She knew it would take some time to master walking but one had to start out slowly. All skills took time to master. However she was young and impatient. She wanted to walk as far as she could. Everything was new and she wanted to explore all the sights around her. She wanted to ask all the questions tumbling around in her head but her tongue was not used to speech. Everything was just so much stimulation. She was young and she needed to slowly aquatint herself with the world but her desires of exploration were strong. Daria legs felt weak as they took her first steps . She was able to walk closer to one of the figures near her but the effort was talking a toll . It had been a long difficult day coming out from the baskets. It had taken most of her energy to emerge from basket. The over stimulation on her senses had also drained her. There was just so much she wanted to do. However she was getting tired. She walked a few more steps toward the figure her eyes had settled on earlier. She yawed a big yawn, the sound surprising her a bit. She had never heard her voice but yawning it seemed had come natural to her.
With a thump her legs settled on the ground. Falling down in exhaustion she settled herself in a pile. Her eyelids were dropping, it just took much effort to keep them up. She tried to keep her eyed opened by will power since there were so many sights she still wanted to soak up. However physical exhaustion was something that she just couldn't fight. Eventually she lost the battle and her eyelids settled down having won the fight. She had placed her head against her side. Her body twitched and one of her legs shook as she slowly settled into a light sleep. Eventually light baby snores could be heard coming from Daria as she made the transition into a heaver sleep pattern. Daria dreamed many dreams most memorable were the dreams of fully having control over her legs. In her dreams she ran and ran. She dreamed of exploring all she had seen on her brief time outside the basket. Daria had many dreams but most she would not remember when she awoke. The journey from the land of sleep to the state of awareness often robbed the dreamer of their dreams. However while Daria would forget most of her dreams she would remember the overall feeling she had received from the dreams. The thrill of and adventure, but also the warm feeling of peace and contentment.

Dacian gazed at his three daughters as they made their first steps out into the world. Already part of him was dreading the day when the girls walked out of his life. The girls mother Deneb, was not born of the woods though she had made it her home. He knew that someday Deneb would leave the woods, he would miss his friend dearly. While he wasn't romantically attached to her, she was still an important part of his life. Deneb was beautiful with dark coat colors that he found very physically attractive. Her mane was a deep golden color much darker then the light gold of the sun. She seldom showed her eyes, but they were dark blue like the color indigo. However Deneb had so many emotional walls up that he knew not to fall in love with her. She had made some mistakes in the past that had deeply
harmed her emotionally. She was no longer the young tempestuous female that would make those mistakes again, but old wounds still haunted her. Dacian knew he was not the stallion that could heal her wounds, but he hoped she would find a mate soon. Some soq never mated, but he knew that Deneb would never fully heal unless she found a mate. Someday she would leave the forest to look for her fated male. However the first step in healing Deneb heart would be raising these girls successfully. They both wanted the girls to be emotionally happy and physically healthy.

Already he knew his heart would mourn deeply if all his daughter followed her. Already he was planning on showing the girls the wonder of the Forrest. He would wait till they became strong, before showing the girls the heart of the woods were he resided part of the year. He hoped one of the girls would be drawn to the mysteries of the deep forest. It was said that the fair folk also known as the seelie once lived in this part of the forest. The seelie were thought to have left the forest for another realm many years before the moths had arrived and made the forest their home. Dacian was not sure that the seelie had entirely left the forrest. Part of him believed that the seelie would occasionally visit the forest depths. In the innermost part the forest grew glowing mushrooms and flowers. It was said that a circle of mushrooms was a fairy circle and that a seelie could entrap a soq that stepped in one of their circles. Dacian remembered when he was a youth a time when he had stepped into a mushroom fairy circle on a dare. At the time he had been arrogant and ready to prove himself. He had stepped into the circle and nothing had happened to him. However recently he would wake from he dreams and find a glowing mushroom by his hooves. Sometimes he would find many glowing mushrooms suddenly growing overnight by his front hooves. He was sure that the mushrooms were seelie creations. It would have been natural for him to be scared but he sensed the mushrooms were not their to harm him, but were more of a blessing sent by the heart of the forest.

Sumire arched her bows before turning to her errant son. Did you have something to tell me," she said starchily and a bit saucily. Dacian turned toward her a smile on his face though his eyes appeared a bit troubled. She wondered why her son had shadows of sadness in his dark blue eyes. The emergence of his daughters should be a joyous occasion yet he appeared both ecstatic and sorrowful. She knew that he was probably worried about her reaction, she had been a little hurt that he had kept such a big secret from her. However it was hard to stay made once she saw her adorable little grand foals. The girls had been trying to gain control of their legs and their wobbly efforts worth both amusing and adorable. One of the girl had stumbled and fallen , but a few seconds later she was up looking unfazed by the experience. The world was so new to the girls and watching the wonder in their eyes was fascinating. However the girls energy seemed to be decreasing. Sumire watched as the foal nearest to her started to yawn. Once one girl started to yawn all three were soon yawning before all three of the girls made their way to the forest floor were they promptly fell into a deep sleep. The 2nd and 3rd girls were identical in all ways except for their coloration. The 2nd eldest coloring favored her father while the youngest favored her mother. The two girls both had a set of their fathers miniature wings. While they slept their wings fluttered back and forth trying to dry while the girls slept. Sumire hoped the two winged girls would not be disappointed when they discovered that their wings would not be strong enough for them to fly any great distance. Her son Dacian had small wings due to her lifemates non winged status. Sumire loved her mate and him not being a flutter didn't bother her in the least. It was not surprising to her that out of her four offspring one had been born without wings, one had been born with miniature wings, and two had inherited her large wings. They were a mix bag family and they were all her adorable and special offspring.

Dacian's middle and youngest seemed to have inherited their fathers tiny wings and like him would most likely only be able to hoover. Maybe the girls would just accept the limitations of their wings and not become distressed. Having little wings didn't seem to bother Dacian and he valiantly trained his wings to become stronger though he would never be able to fly far. Perhaps the girls like their father would surprise her.
