Description: A small workshop given to Karleen by the Toybox, it has a bed and other neccessities crammed in there, so that she's not homeless. In the middle of the room sits a large desk that acts sort of like a divider. On the other side are cabinets holding plenty of materials and tools. On the opposing side is all of Kar's living area including a cheap duvet bed on a cheap box spring, a collapsable closet, and a counter with a cheap electrical cook-top. The top shelf of the desk holds non-perishable food items and the desktop hold a series of monitors, engineering and other books, and a radio. On the left of the desk is the area leading to the door, where a small square of laminate flooring is and this is the area where her coat and keys are hung, and her shoes are in a pile by the door. Karleen shuffled in to her apartmnet, then made her way over to her bed, flopping on the rough surface for a moment. The not-her phone went off in her pocket and the young woman slowly grabbed the device out and looked at it. It was a reply from Dogdad, saying he was glad she was off the streets and that she was busy. She sighed softly; if only being a toybox member gave her more of a life. She hated the idea of being a hero but the fact that it would give her less time to think was tempting. Karleen rolled over on to her back and closed her eyes, taking a moment to actually rest. She only meant to lay there for a moment before starting on commissions but her eyes felt so heavy... Maybe a few moments of sleep wouldn't hurt...

She was carrying a large carrier bag full of what appeared to be take out containers and a broad smile upon her face. Reaching out, she knocked on the door. "Karleen! Open up~!" Her voice was rather heavily accented, marking her out as German. Bending down she peered through the letter box if there was one. "I brought food. It's Chinese. But the good kind of Chinese so you don't have to worry!" She sounded chipper as always while she waited.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Feeling: Emotions x Being: Places x Thinking: "Stuff"

Karleen jumped awake, flailing and nearly falling off the bed. "I-I'm awake!" She shouted, as it took her a few seconds to realize that she wasn't really shouting to anyone in particular. A familiar voice drifted from outside the door; was that Freda? Jesus how long had it been since the last time she had seen her? Probably not too long before she moved here... Karleen fumbled up out of her bed and to the door, opening it to blink tiredly at the woman on the other side. Her beanie was half falling off her head, which still sported a horrible mess of hair, and dark circles marked her eyes from all the nights of insomnia "Freda...? What are you-" Karleen cut herself off short as the smell of food drifted her eyes downwards. Suddenly more awake, Karleen perked up, taking the container of food from Freda's hands, her eyes bright. "Ooooo, fooooddddd."

She noticed the state she was in, but didn't mention it. Even if it did concern her a little bit. She'd have to do something about that. Without asking, she kinda sorta allowed herself in while the younger girl was busy with holding the food. "I thought you'd appreciate that." A broad grin spread briefly across her features, before her gaze turned to the room around her. Peering at it through her glasses. "Not bad. Not bad at all. I see you're settling in nicely. I actually just moved here not too long ago myself. I'll give you the address in case you need me for anything."xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Feeling: Emotions x Being: Places x Thinking: "Stuff"

Karleen walked back inside, closing the door, and putting the food on her desk. She gave Freda a small look of surprise; she had moved here."You moved here? I bet your apartment is much nicer than mine." Karleen searched through the box for a second, poking the power button of the computer tower at the desk with her big toe to turn it on.The machine made somewhat of a worrying noise, as if it was old and decrepit, before the light on the power button flashed on and the monitor came to life. Almost immediately, Karleen began to stuff her face, letting out a groan of pure bliss. Food, oh glorious food. Karleen swallowed before talking once more, she had manners after all. "I'd love your address, maybe I'll come over and visit some time."
A notification popped up on her computer, a commission... for a jetpack. Ever since she made her first one, they seemed to popular for capes and villains alike; the ease of travel was better and easier than a car or plane. With a yawn, Karleen moved over to her workbenches and began the first steps, grabbing a cheap plastic hair clip and pining back her hair so it wouldn't get caught after taking off her beanie. "So Freda, what's new?" Karleen asked before shoving a few screws between her lips, starting on the frame. "Anything exciting going on? I don't check the news, though I aught to. It's just so... depressing." Her fingers glided as she worked, as if guided somehow by magic. The woman's eyes were intense and focused, and soon before she even knew it she was done. She carefully placed the jetpack and the instructions in to a box filled with foam, wrote down the address for the drop point, and stuck the box outside her door to be placed in the mail for delivery. "I should open a jetpack emporium or something, it seems like everyone wants one." She looked back at freda, giving her somewhat of a half-hearted smirk.

Soon popping back out again with a black pen and a piece of paper. She began to hum as she wrote something down on it. Karleen already had her phone number, so she scribbled down her address and then dangled the piece of paper. "Mhmm. Doing business all the way from Earth He was proving to be more of a hassle than I initially thought." There was more to it than that. She couldn't bring herself to remain in the same city her sister had died in. Too many memories, many of them filled with regret. "I think most of the fun stuff happens over here anyway. So much history. Besides, I can spend more time with you like this." She beamed a warm smile down at the younger woman. Karleen may have been taller than her, but she was also presumably seated.
She watched in silence as Karleen worked. Obviously not really understanding how the tech worked, as this wasn't her particular area of expertise. But it was interesting none the less. "No. Not really. Nothing out of the ordinary anyway. I've been far too busy setting up all of my tools." There was a brief pause as she seemed to think. "I can imagine so. Being able to fly or even just break your fall is a huge advantage. Speaking of which, I was just thinking. Could you make me something like that eventually? Not now, we're both busy. But I'd be willing to trade you some of my own tech in exchange as well as the obvious occasional upkeep. I can make medical devices, augmented reality, maybe even some kinds of exoskeletons that increase physical ability. You name it as long as it's based around Cybernetics."xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Feeling: Emotions x Being: Places x Thinking: "Stuff"
