"I figure!" Allen said, returning Steve and Beck. "Zangoose, we think you may be able to resist the virus that has the Lickitung going crazy, that's why you aren't already infected I think." He backed up once Lykas used Pain Split to open his SNAG to see what this Pokemon could even do besides the obvious Slash.
"Alrighty then, use Revenge!" He called out, not bothering to think how wild Pokemon instantly knew attacks.

As the Shadow Pokemon slammed into Lykas it did indeed receive a taste of its own medicine, in the most literal of senses as Lykas pulled off a Pain Split, equally the health between the hurt hybrid and the relatively 'healthy' Shadow Pokemon. Next would come a certain Zangoose, the mongoose Pokemon running in and slashing at the Shadow Lickitung with Fighting energy infused claws, the Lickitung letting out a pained cry as the Super Effective move hit.
"Lickiii!" Roared the Lickitung as he lashed out with its tongue, wrapping it around the Zangoose once again, however this time it would spin it around, pick up some momentum, and hurl it at Lykas, attempting to 'kill two birds with one stone', except the stone and one of the birds was a Zangoose and the other bird was a squid jellyfish man.
With those two dealt with for now the Lickitung would turn its attention towards Allen as it rushed towards him with another Shadow Rush.

Lykas yelped when he saw Zangoose get picked up and hurled at him. He'd jumped back a few steps, almost tripping as he tried to make room for the mongoose-like Pokemon to attack and was still struggling to regain his footing when it happened. Luckily for him, Genevieve was paying attention and the Dewpider fired off a Spider Web, using the small, sticky thread to grab Zangoose and pull it away from Lykas, resulting in it getting thrown to the ground as Zangoose came flying toward him instead.
"Alright, that's enough!" Lykas exclaimed as he finally recovered his footing. Grabbing a Safari Ball from his belt, he recalled Genevieve, sending another ball into the air and releasing Yarrow instead. "Time to hit a bit harder. "Yarrow, Power-Up Punch!" He told the Crabrawler. The crustacean nodded and scuttled forward, claws ablaze with fighting chi as he wound up for an empowering punch. In the meantime, Lykas dug into his bag for a third ball, this one empty. Hauling out an Ultra Ball, he kept a watch for a chance to try and capture Lickitung. He was afraid they still needed to weaken it a bit more but with a Shadow Pokemon, it might be hard to tell when that was. They had a tendency to keep going until they dropped, quite literally.

"Aaaa big and angry!" Allen ran in the opposite direction as the Lickitung chased with a Shadow Rush. He pointed his bat and tried poisoning the Lickitung with a cloud of poisonous gas as it rushed him. Then he got tackled and his channeling artifact was knocked out of his hands. Great. "Zangoose, get it off me with a Crush Claw!"
The Shadow Pokemon was knocked off Allen by the dual hit of Power-Up Punch and Crush Claw, the creature stumbling to the side. Angered even further the beast began to swell with energy, a terrible aura forming around it, the ground rumbling in response. It was about to use something big and if Lykas had ever seen a Shadow Rave he would know it was coming and how far eaching it was. If allowed to pull it if they might have to deal with more Shadow Pokemon, their own.

Oh crap. Lykas recognized that move. Odd's Liepard had a preference for Shadow Rave before she'd been purified. "This might be my only chance." He said to himself as he wound up and threw the Ultra Ball in his hand at full force. As soon as the ball hit, he'd recall Yarrow, just in case it failed. "Better safe than Shadowfied." He reminded himself. That Zangoose might be ok if it had resisted infection for this long after a direct confrontation before but Yarrow had never com into contact with it before. He waited, teeth clenched shut and jaw tight while he anticipated the result.
Allen, not too familiar with Shadow Pokemon, scrambled up and grabbed his artifact back off of the ground. "Phew... Zangoose ready another Crush Claw. If it breaks out, we gotta hit it with anything we can." To that extent, he readied his bat. He was already feeling tired after expending so much chi in such a small time frame, but he wasn't about to just fall and pass out on the mission. He'd save that for when he got back to his room at HQ.
"Note to self, visit Koga sometime after this."

The Ultra Ball would fly through the air and smack into the angry Shadow Lickitung, the device opening up and sucking the vile creature into its confines. Once inside the ball would close and fall to the ground, shaking upon landing. One...two...and...
Click! The ball's button would stay lit for a few seconds to signify that the Pokemon had been caught, the Ultra Ball now remaining still as it ceased its rocking. Almost immediately the area around them would feel...cleaner, better, the origin of the filth which plagued this route now contained.
"Well that is surprising, squid head and member number eighty-six managed to capture a Shadow Pokemon without getting half the route and all their Pokemon Shadowfied. I suppose congratulations are in order, but then again you were just doing your job so...good job on actually doing your job." GRAY spoke up.
With the Shadow Lickitung now contained a certain Zangoose would turn to face Allen, looking up at him with a confused look. The thing that had been the focus of its anger and vengeance was now defeat so...what now? Having a trainer was new to it.
Lykas sighed as he caught the Lickitung, surprisingly enough. "That went smoother than expected..." He admitted as he walked over and picked up the Ultra Ball. "Feels like we got it under control before the infection started spreading." He told Allen, the near constant burning feeling in his body easing up considerably as soon as the area had stopped being drowned in Shadow Virus. There were questions that yet remained for him, though. First, where had this Pokemon come from? And second, what was he supposed to do with it? Lickitung wasn't really his sort of Pokemon but he couldn't just lock it up forever and he certainly couldn't just release it back into the wild, could he?

What was more surprising, them catching the Shadow Pokemon before the infection spread or GRAY being relatively nice? Allen pat the Zangoose's head. "Yeah, but if most of Hoenn recieved a vaccine, this shouldn't have even happened. We need to purify that Lickitung so we can figure out where it came from." He agreed. Lickitung wasn't even a native Pokemon here. This was on purpose.
Allen meanwhile figured the Zangoose was exactly his kind of Pokemon. It was cool looking and it seemed like poison and the Shadow virus weren't a concern to it. But he needed to get it to HQ first for a scan. "GRAY, could you send Claydol over?"
"Say please." GRAY said in response to Allen, however shortly after Claydol appeared before them anyways, the AI bluffing. Once near the Claydol would take them all home, back to Mt. Silver and Team Snagem HQ. Still, as both of the Snagems would have pondered there were still many questions to be answered and more to do, this was not the end of things.
