With Familiars growing in popularity, some Guardian Spirits (That's you!) have come to enjoy Rping familiars. However, often times inspiration to continue rping them is lost, as unlike with soquili, there is no satisfaction of seeing the stats rise and fill out. Others never really start rping their familiars simply because of this.
This is a common statement of frustration among those of the Familiar community.
The Five-Star Familiar project is here to remedy this issue and has come up with a solution!
This is a completely optional and unofficial self tracked Ranking system. The more a familiar is Rped, the more points it gets, and the higher Their Star-power can get, and the more chances for prizes later on down the road. For those who have already rped your familiars, everything can be backdated so you can include your already existing rps, and since this is unofficial, even Unofficial roleplay, such as in the main thread of the shop, can count as long as they are still familiars in the rp!
Really this is just "mind is a dork and sometimes likes giving away pets with her credits for the strangest stuff and sometimes other colorists like to do so too. Lets be dorks together in our free time." And not really any official thing nor a game or requirement of any sort: You do you. Don't feel pressured.

Rules
Each Familiar gets their own post, using the official form, in this thread. You get 5 Exp for every 100 words your familiar rps in an RP. (If you only rp them as support in an RP they rp less than 100 words, you give them 1 Exp for every 20 words rped, rounding up or down to the nearest 20.). RP's where you are only rping a familiar (either against another familiar or someone else's soquili: Not just helping flesh out their bonded soquili's rp) OR play a Key Role where they are the focus of attention/are a vital piece of the plotline OR they are posting as much as everyone else involved as an equal are worth Double points! It is not limited how much exp you can earn per month, so go ahead and go crazy! Because this is all about loving Familiars, even people who are better at speaking with pictures than words can get involved: getting custom Artwork of your familiar is worth experience too!
10 exp if the familiar is not the subject matter (Are drawn as part of a picture of the soquili they are bonded to with the focus being the Soquili) 25 exp if the familiar IS the focus of the subject matter (Alone, with another familiar, or if the familiar of Equal or Greater focus if they are with a soquili) +1 exp for every other familiar in the picture that is not them
Must be a finished piece and not just a rough sketch, and it cannot be attached to another shop official pet (so your familiar custom drawn onto a pony, or colored on another shop's templates doesn't count). They have to be familiars in the picture (or a human-like figure with traits obviously taken from the familiar and not visa versa). Example of finished artwork | Example of rough sketch
Artwork doesn't need to be colored, just needs to be inked to count. However you can only use the artwork once: You cannot count inked and colored versions as separate pieces of artwork, nor can you count a picture of them with a soquili and a version with them isolated in the picture. HOWEVER if there are multiple familiars in the picture, it can count as Experience bonuses for all of them (So a picture of Familiar A and Familiar B Together is 26 Exp points for both of them) RP Doesn't have to be official rp in the rp thread: It can be rp in the main soquili thread, in the non-canon rp forum, in wishing stars, etc. They ARE Required to be familiars of the species they are however in the rps, so you can't rp them as humans or soquili or creatures from another shop. While you keep track of this yourself, you should be honest about it if you want to get the optional bonuses! You remain at the star level you are until you go OVER the required star limit. Those points spill into the next level, stating once more at 0. if you are tracking the points of a live RP,
Benefits
Motivation to rp familiars Bragging rights about your familiars Star level. A quick way to see the Who's Who of rping familiars and finding people who are more likely to actually take your own familiar RP someone to plot with. A place for individuals at soquili who have so far only won Familiars to show progress and activity, and promote people to try and interact with them while they wait for a chance at a pony. While unofficial, you can link this in your familiar breeding forms for an increased chance for more children, and colorists ARE welcome to host things where they request In addition I (and other colorists who wish to) may occasionally raffle off a random prize based on your star level. Whatever star level your familiar is, they can get that prize and any of the prizes lower depending on what the colorist picks. These prizes are bought with credits and colored by the artist themselves so only happens as frequently and at the level of as a colorist wishes to. The more familiars you rp, the more chances you have to win prizes in Project based raffles. Winning a star level prize does NOT prevent you from winning another prize of the same level: A five star Familiar could win you a Five star prize on several separate occasions!

Prizes are given whenever a colorist wants to, since this is unofficial. So mostly this is just for your own tracking and bragging rights, with the occasional chance for prizes.
0-50 exp Just starting to form. Benefits: Just knowing how active your familiar is.
0-550 exp Still going strong. Benefits: This familiar has the chance to win a standard credit breeding with a Guaranteed maxed out litter. This familiar has to be involved, but it can be a non-canon spirit breeding with any other familiar.
0-775 exp You're Dedicated, I'll give you that. Benefits: This familiar has the chance to win a Seasonal Twist credit breeding with a Guaranteed maxed out litter. This familiar has to be involved, but it can be a non-canon spirit breeding with any other familiar.
0-1000 exp Absolutely Ludicrous - you've gone to the Speed of Plaid! Benefits: You have the chance to get a semi-custom familiar with either custom edits or moderate splicing of either an Exotic or mutant base.
0-1500 exp Insanely devoted to this character in particular. Benefits: You get the chance to win a custom item (or heavily spliced templated item) For one of your characters. Doesn't have to be this one, nor does it have to be even added to a familiar.
0-2000 exp OMFGBBQSAUCE WHO ARE YOU?! Benefits: You get the chance to win a five Herd-helper style familiar's for you to keep, share, whatever you want! You can found your own familiar village if you wanted to with this with your closest friends, Act like its Mardi Gras and toss them into the masses of the familiar hungry in a raffle, or keep them all like some sort of strange dragon hoard.
Reach over 2000 exp in 4 1/2 star ranking This familiar is a God above all others, A truly shining star in the shop, a bigger deal than pretty much any mere soquili. Be sure to brag about it! Go ahead, you deserved it. Benefits: Your familiar can win you a Duo of a Familiar and a Soquili, with the familiar custom drawn onto the soquili.* *Mindsend will be making some Custom-drawn familiar bases for her personal use that can be colored by unedited colorists that wish to get involved in this project: The familiar attached to the pony will still count as edited when breeding.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why for familiars and not ponies? A: For several reasons The familiar RP community is a smaller one, and thus its easier to do a trial run and judge if it actually does anything to the over all activity and interest of familiars as RPable characters. To Encourage familiar rp and create diversity of rped partners. I'm a familiar fanatic Ponies have Stats.. Though a maxed out pony would be about 1 1/2 stars if they only did the minimum Prizes and rp bonuses are a little easier to figure out. Less pressure on everyone
If this turns out well, I MIGHT figure out a pony version to create a sort of Post Maxing stats DLC content game for rping maxed out ponies in the same line of thought as the five star familiar project.
Q: OMG WHY IS THIS NOT AN OFFICIAL THING? A: WELL, for starters, it wasn't talked about as a group, and I don't want anyone to feel pressured to help out on something that I'm unsure of how people would react to. This is just a trial run. It may become official in the future if it goes well and staff likes it well enough to do so, at which point prizes will no longer require credits to gift prizes, but for now... It's just me wanting to have a place where the familiar rping community can track their familiars progress and occasionally spend my paycheck gifting people stuff. I sometimes do this with herds I'm involved with too or people's random quests. It's just Mind being Mind.
Q: What If what I have isn't quantifiable to 5 (like I posted 963/970 words) A: The math for this is easy!
the 900 part of is is 5 x 9= 45 for the 63, you round down to the nearest 20 (aka 60) and if it was 70 or more, you round up to the nearest 20 (aka 80).
Count how many 20's it takes for you to reach this part of it. (60 = 3, 80=4)
Those are the points added to the hundred.
So 963 = 48 points and 970 = 49 points!
For some people, it helps to think of it like money. 1800 is $18.00 $1.00 buys 5 points.
