Standing before the giant ornate door, Isaac stared up at the carved and gilded egress with a mixture of confusion and annoyance. "Why," he muttered to himself, as he shook his head, "Why does Sub insist on sending us into these random situations, armed with no information other than to expect the endeavor to be perilous?" With a sigh, he checked his gear, and pushed open the ornate doors, heading into the labyrinth.

21. Environment: A small room which resembles a marsh, smells like one too.
Details: A wild Goomy appeared! Its gooey body is trying to slow you down, roll to see if your Pokemon gets the Gooey status. (Roll Range: 1-4. Success: 4.)[Battle!]
Rewards: 1 Silver Token, 1 Evo Point/1 Purification Point
"Who puts a marsh in a stone labyrinth," Isaac asked as he pinched his nose to block out the smell. "Seriously, this is disgusting." Angron burbled his agreement, shaking its armored head and stepping lightly through the muck, trying to prevent as much of it from getting on him as possible.
This didn't last, as halfway across the swampy room, the pair was rushed by a purple blob of what appeared to be living swamp.
"Goomy!" the blob squeaked loudly as it splattered into Angron, spraying Isaac globules of marsh water.
"Arggpth," Isaac spat, trying fruitlessly to get the taste of stale marsh water out of his mouth. "Bulldoze," he called out before realizing what would happen.
"Wait!" he cried out, but it was too late. Angron was already charging into the Goomy, head down and sending a spray of stone, mud, and swamp muck spraying outwards as it plowed its way through the room. Isaac trudged to the other side of the room, now thoroughly covered in swamp spray as a result of his Aron's attack, pausing only briefly to pick up the only shiny object in the mud and muck covered room, another of those strange tokens he had been finding.
(Doing the roll for Gooey in this post. Next post will have damage calculations.)

"Well, that was awful," Isaac muttered as he attempted to wipe as much of the marsh muck off of him and his Aron. "You doing okay, Angron?" The small Pokemon cried out in assent, before shaking its head, sending a few remaining drops of swamp water flying. "That's good," Isaac replied, standing up and reaching for the door. "Now, let's see what's behind door number whatever."

As the Trapinch fainted, an audible buzz could be heard throughout the sand dune of a room. "What is tha....oh no," Isaac muttered moments before the glowing Vibrava burst from the sand, accompanied by other Trapinch. Apparently, this was a nest for these Pokemon and weren't particularly happy with their home being disturbed.
"Damn it, Aile," he swore again, before turning to his Aron. "Enough of this. Let's bust through these guys. Dragon Rush!" With a powerful roar, indicative of his evolutionary line despite his small stature, Angron charged the assembled mass of ground Pokemon, eyes glowing with a fearsome dragon chi. Said chi enveloped Angron as he slammed into his target, crashing his armored head into the totem enhanced Vibrava.

"Keep going!" Isaac urged on his Aron, as the pair busted past the swarm of Trapinch, now hissing angrily as they skittered towards the fleeing pair. Craning his head back to glance behind, Isaac beheld the skittering red mass of the perturbed and hungry Pokémon. Salvation lay just ahead, an open door at the bottom of a sand dune, leading farther into the labyrinth. Anything, even the possibility of more dangerous and potentially lethal traps was better than the possibility, or rather certainty at this point, of being eaten alive by a hive of ravenous Pokémon. Leaping at his chance, Isaac flung himself forwards in a desperate bid for freedom and escape. That hope, however, was cut short as sand enveloped his right leg, pulling him back down face first into the sand. Jerking his head around in terror, Isaac gaped helplessly at the Sand Tomb ensnaring him. Panic overwhelmed him, as Isaac simply jerked his leg in vain and useless attempts to free himself. No plan came to mind, no strategy to escape, not even a command to give to his Pokémon. "Angron! Help!" he screamed, desperation and panic carrying through his voice as he glanced as the closing horde of ravenous skittering death. A shouting bellow cut through the fog of panic in his mind, as a gleaming armored head of steel crashed into the ensnaring sand. The pain in his leg was enormous, but the joy and euphoria at his newfound freedom was greater. "Let's go!," he yelled, scrabbling at the sand to put words to action, as hope once more welled up within him. "Defense Curl," he called out, as he scrambled towards the exit as quickly as he could, "Roll down the dune, Angron!" Reaching the door as his Aron, rolled up into a ball, speeding down the dune and through the opening, Isaac heaved against the heavy stone door. The roughly hewn stone door creaked as it moved slowly, it seemed to take an eternity to the desperate trainer, before the portcullis closed with a resounding thud, echoed mere moments later by a stone bar slammed down to lock it in place. The partner of trainer and Pokémon were safe, at least for the moment. Slumping down in exhaustion, Isaac propped himself against the stone wall, breathing deeply and trying to recover from the harrowing experience. Staggering over to him, his Aron still glared at the door, and the dustings of sand around the frame, betraying what lay just beyond. "Easy, Angron," Isaac remarked with a chuckle, reaching out to pet the steel armored Pokémon's head, stifling its agitated growls directed at the occupants of the prior room. "You saved my life, you know," Isaac praised, as he scratched Angron behind the armored shell on his head, "Thank you, seriously. I would have been chow back there had you not saved me." The tiny Pokémon burbled happily at the praise, resting its head on Isaac's leg. "Here," Isaac remarked as he fished out the Max Potion he had brought for the challenge, as well as a fist full of sand. After the escapades of the last room, the varied pockets of his lab coat, as well as every other nook, cranny, and fold in his clothing. After spraying his Aron down with the restorative medicine, he pocketed the empty dispenser; it may not hold medicine any more, but the canister itself might be useful later. Going back to rubbing Angron's head, he glanced down at his leg, still throbbing with pain. "We'll get back to the labyrinth in a bit," he told his Aron, who simply sighed affectionately at its trainer's caresses as he rested his head on Isaac's other leg, "For now, I want to rest for an hour. Or five."

Slowly, creeping up inexorably, conscious once again dawned over Isaac pulling him out of his sleep. Blinking as he struggled to shrug the weight of sleep off of his eyes, he swiveled his gaze, taking in his surroundings. Fortunately, they didn't seem to have changed much. Angron was still asleep, snoring gently in high pitched squeaks as he inhaled gently, armored head still resting upon Isaac's leg. "Hey there," Isaac spoke softly, as he reached out to run his hand over the Aron's head, as the tiny Pokemon began to stir, "Good morning. Or at least, it could be morning." The stillness of the corridor gave no indication of the passage of time, with no windows to the outside either to help in that regard. In fact, the only real source of light was a series of glowing silver runes sprawling over a carved and gilded archway complete with an equally decorated door complete with yet more glowing silver runes. It wasn't the only door in the corridor, however, although it was by far the most obvious and noticeable. A bit farther down the darkened hallway, just barely noticeable beyond the flashy illuminated archway, was another door cut in the same rough stone as the previous several doors that he had passed through on his journey thus far. "Well," Isaac groaned as he slowly staggered to his feet, his steel Pokemon following suit, "We should really get going. If we want to take a longer nap, it might be best if we waited until we are back home. Or at least somewhere that lacks lethal traps." As Isaac reached into various pockets of his coat to check his stash of healing items, it wouldn't do for something to have stolen them while he was adrift on the currents of unconsciousness, each pocket rewarded him with a bonus handful of sand. A few moments of unpacking later would behold Isaac holding the coat upside down, stashed items stacked neatly off to the side, while he emptied the numerous pockets of the infesting granules. "I'm starting to hate sand," he grumbled as he shook the final few grains from the garment. Voicing his assent, Angron scattered the sand piles with a quick sweep of his head, before growling once again at the barred door leading back to the sand dunes of skittering, buzzing, and ravenous death. "I know what you mean," Isaac remarked as he slipped his arms into the coat once more, forgoing fastening the long row of buttons up the front, instead returning his collected items to their prior pockets now that they were vacant of any sand, "I'm not that much of a fan of that evolutionary line anymore, either. Well," he sighed, beckoning for his Aron to follow, he started off down the corridor. "Let's get going." Stopping briefly at the glowing silver archway, he gave the ornate gilded decorations a once over, before dismissing the possibility of entering with a quick shake of his head. "No," he remarked in a matter-of-fact fashion, "Any doorway that is this obviously marked and attention grabbing is almost certainly trapped. It's too obvious for it to not be." Striding swiftly up to the stone door, hidden within the shadows cast from the runic illuminations of the prior archway, Isaac gave Angron a quick nod, and upon receiving one in return, pushed the door open and confidently strode inside. The room beyond was comprised of the same smoothed stone as had the rest of the labyrinth, but there were a few immediately noticeable differences. First, it was much smaller than any rooms Isaac and Angron had thus far visited, only about twenty or so paces across from one end of the room to the other. Secondly, each room he had visited thus far had a flat ceiling, just low enough to make the space feel a bit claustrophobic. This place, however, had a curved dome ceiling, lending it an open and cavernous feel, despite the small diameter of the room. Third, jutting upward from a raised dais in the center of the room, was a column of white marble, widening slightly at about waist height to give the impression of a small table or pedestal for something. Finally, and most interestingly, was that unlike any room prior there were three identical stone doors spaced evenly from each other and the one the trainer and Pokemon had just walked through. A rumbling sound from behind attracted Isaac's attention, and he spun around to witness the door he had just passed through swing shut. "Wait, wait , wait!" he shouted, rushing over to the now closed doorway, he pushed the door open and staggered into what he thought would be the corridor he had just left.
