My short story- Please enjoy heart

Haven
Damn. That's all I could think as I picked up the Cadbury bar and placed it against my lips. For a second, I just left it there, debating whether or not to engulf with delight and chocolatey satisfaction. You see, that's the problem with chocolate. It never lasts long enough. Such a small bar, for only one pound. If you eat it, how warm and fuzzy your stomach begins to feel, as your tastebuds pour with happiness. However the side effect- which is a tricky one- is how distressing eating such a novelty can be. The anxiety of becoming fat which can linger to worse problems. Like anorexia.

Christmas is one hellish season. All your favourite things and fears rolled into one day.

Perhaps the chocolate bar could wait for later?

Nah~

a short Story huh? ahahaha i think mine is alittle toooo much... cat_sweatdrop

"Origins".

the night was dark with a storm, a storm full of power, Rain came down hard like buckets of water being thrown one after another off a roof above only multiplied by ten, the cobble stone road ripped apart with pot holes and cracks that raced along the street its self, the roaring of thunder angry with the ground below as lightning strikes the ground with explosive results sending dirt and stone into the air like a small grenade under the ground had exploded, and the wind raced down the street from one end to the other whirling and screaming like a tornado was at the other end of the street, just sitting there, buildings sat there with little to extreme damage, roof's and face's of buildings missing, or just torn apart by the shrapnel of rubble thrown though the air by the wind and lightning strikes, the source of all the destruction, emanating from the clash of rivals fighting in the very center of the street, rivalry between light against dark, good against evil, man against beast, monster against monster, the eye of a storm and a dark moment that wouldn't be forgotten by many with a result no one would ever forget or have predicted.

seeking shelter against a pillar in the doorway of a house, she sat, hiding from the storm with injury's that prevent her from escaping the rage of the storm, but the rain still attacking as it falls from above, too weak to move this was it for her but not the end for she could only wait for time to pass and a friend to come, a small rune marked stone in hand, the only thing to be keeping her alive for now, but help finally came, struggling against the wind and thick smoke from the raging storm taking place, glowing rune like markings become visible getting ever so brighter as the slowly get closer towards the girl, before a light grey lycan looking warrior appears through the smoke visible to her eye, rising the stone into the air it began to glow, the light escaping the grasp of her hand, telling the warrior where to go, but not with out difficulty as lightning continues to strike the area around, the street now looking more as a warzone then a place of living.

"OVER HERE!" she cried many times with little strength but goes unheard for the time being, until the warrior draws closer, the two glad to see the other, "rune" she crys reaching forwards for a hug as he kneels down to pick her up, "are you hurt badly?" the lycan warrior ask's as he holds the girl tight in his arms as he brace's his back against the pillar she was seeking shelter from, "my leg is hurt, i cant walk in this... " is the answer she replys with to see the lycan warrior smile as he turns his head to look at the eye of the storm before back at his friend, "i had planned to carry you out of her anyway, ready? hang on." he replys launching into a sprint heading the same way as the winds flow, his back to the storm, the winds pushing him along, the girl in his arms holding onto him with arms wrapped tightly around his thick neck, but cant help looking over his shoulder at the storm and destruction they leave behind as the glimpse of a shadow in the storms eye, a figure that cause's her to scream a name, and call it, one that goes unheard to even her own ears, silenced by the winds rushing down the street.

there was nothing to be done except to leave, just about all who were still alive had left the city, and they were the only two still remaining, a tear runs down her face as they disappear into the smokey darkness and out of the street, it wasn't long before things started to improve, as the further they got away from the storm the less destruction there was, but the rain was still heavy and cold, shivering in his arm's she was unable to stop thinking about it, and he knew that well, he was amazed she was still alive, as no one human with in a two block radius was able to get as close as she was and survive for as long.

although much of the city had been damaged from the attacks, the lycan warrior was still able to find a clothing shop yet to be torn apart, setting the girl down against the window of the shop, the warrior tried the door handle only to find the door was locked, and with little to waste, he raised one foot and brace's it against the door before he kicks the wooden door open with ease, ripping it off the hinges and sending it sliding across the floor and setting the shops alarm off, turning to the girl and kneeling down to pick her up she speaks into his ear, "you could have just forced the door gently to break the lock" she says giving him a flick on the nose which cause's him to glare a little, before answering "what do you think i tried to do, im several more times stronger as i am now compared to normally..." he says carrying her into the building and setting her down on one of the bench's near a changing room, "you should find something dry to change into" he says as he walks towards the alarm box high up on the wall and draws a sword which he use's to cut the box in two, killing the alarm, with a satisfied huff he begins to walk around the shop looking at clothing before grabbing a couple items and walking into a changing room, the girl giggles at him before his vanishes from her sight.

minutes pass as the rain continues, the warrior but in human appearance sits near the shop window after picking the door up and attempted to place it back where it was, the silent foot steps sneak up behind him but he know's already before she is aware, his left hand pat's the spot on the bench next to him and she sits down, "you look nicer in a suit... then you do in your lycan form... for a scruff that is." she comments which cause's him to laugh in an attempt to hide the fact he finds it embarrassing, "its all they had, but for a classy place i guess it makes a classy girl smile so i guess its alright, not my style though, but you look like your right at home, the girl in white forever in white with the occasional red or blue..." he speaks trying to sound like a real old fashion gentleman but he pause's as she starts laughing at him and lets her laugh for a while, for she needed the laugh as times recently have been tough on everyone and for a human living around inhuman and superhuman people, it can be tougher, he continues after when she catches her breath and calms down "...how you holding up?" he finally ask's and her few moments of happiness appear to turn dull as she looks at the ground, "not good... i... i wish there was something i could do..." she replys, startles then by the hand placed on her shoulder by the warrior who smiles at her, "your worried about him? come on Alice, you know him better then anyone, he will be fine, anyway he always comes back, you remember that right?" he boast's in a cheerful manner trying to cheer her up but help build her confidence but the girl just turns her head and smiles at him before looking down again, "i know... but... i just wish i could help him in some way, don't you feel the same Rune?" she ask's, her question causing him to turn his head and gaze out the window for a few moments before he opens his mouth to speak but says nothing, paused for a few seconds before, "No." he simply answers, his reply surprising her, but before she can question why, he lifts a hand, putting a finger across his lips as in indication to be quiet as he speaks again, "there is nothing that can be done, if i felt that way i would go only to my grave, everyone has a choice, mine was simple, i chose you, but now you have that same choice, live or die..." he turns to look at her as he removes his hand from his face, "...Alice, if you live, he will as well, but if you go, you both will be lost... his gift to you, please don't waste it." the warrior says with the feeling of someone trying to tackle him, he smiles as he looks down putting both arms around the girl as she starts crying in his arm's as she hugs the warrior known as rune...

Startled awake the Girl in white known as Alice gives a small scream before the warrior Rune has a chance to cover her mouth with his hand for that exact reason, he kneels there with a surprised look and one hand covering his face as she turn's to look at him with a light smile and an expression to say sorry, "come on" the warrior says as he moves backwards while standing up, she sits up from the bench she was sleeping on, realizing its been moved to the back corner and covered with jackets for comfort as well as some on her like a blanket, it took a few short seconds to realize he chose to sleep on the floor as made obvious by the  rolled up jacket used for a pillow and a couple as a sort of mattress to lay on, "how long was i out?" the girl questions as she looks towards the window, the sky was much brighter now then when she last remembered, "you sleep well? you kinda fell a sleep in my arms while crying, and its been a few hours, 4 or 5 tops." reply's the warrior while he stands at the window looking out and up, she pulls her self to her feet with a stretch before walking over to the window to look for her self, the Sky was a bright grey as the storm clouds appeared to be moving away but smoke from the center of the city still rose up and filled the sky, the rain not as heavy now but still continued to pour down lighter and lighter as time passed to the point where it was gone, "it was alright, what about you? and do you think its over?" she questions as she tugs at his arm, she needed to know if it was over, but more importantly she needed to know if "he" was alright, "i cant honestly say if it is or not, we can only go and look to find the answer and i know your worried about him..." the warrior pauses as a grin slowly starts to creep across and appear on his face as he grabs the back of his head with one hand, " as for me, it wasn't all to bad actually, not as good as sleeping beauty's but a campfire still beat the luxury of this floor" he says laughing as he makes a joke about how he slept in an attempt to enlighten the mood though hes not to sure if she understood him as Alice didn't seem to laugh, just smiled.

moving to the door, the warrior pushes it open only to remember its still not connected, before he can grab the door as it fall's it hits the floor with a thud, startling the warrior who jumps back on one foot with a sour startled look on his face as he cringe's for a few seconds, taking no notice of Alice who had started to laugh as she walks over, mostly the girl laughed because she can tease him later about how the door falling over scared the big fearless Runic lycan, she steps though the door way onto the street and the warrior follow suit, both looking to the sky at the tower of smoke, "only one place to go..." raising a hand to point to the end of the road, the warrior said with a sigh said and the began to walk in the direction, every step closer they took would being them a step closer to there answers and the realization of the destruction that had taken place, but this time there were a few others, curious to know if it was finally over as well, but the city was no longer safe, every step close would only bring danger as damaged buildings would creak and moan as if waiting for people to move so they could finally lay to rest in rubble as they would fall apart, the road's torn apart with rubble and debris, to the point where the street the eye of the storm had remained and the battle taken place, the road was no more, just dirt and mud, the surrounding buildings just mere piles of wood and frames like they were torn apart by a passing tornado, the area was thick with smoke making it hard to see, harder to breath, but in the very eye of that storm a crater remains, full of water from the rain, with a flat base and flat wall, like a cylinder had been cut out of the ground, but no sign of the two that clashed, this site caused panic, as she began to run around searching for someone or something, but rune just stood there by the edge of the pit, a pit full of water, the last place of two powerful force's, before kneeling down and appearing to talk to himself "one final heroic effort, eh? you never changed a bit, i always said you would go out with a bang, guess i was right." rune says quietly with a smile and a respectful nod before he stands and turns his back.

walking over towards Alice, the warrior place's a hand on her shoulder to spin her around from her frantic effors of searching, "i... i cant find him... i cant find him anywhere..." she says turning to face him before she hugs him, trying to keep her calm and stop her from crying rune holds her tight, "remain strong, alright?, now all you just have to do is call him and he will come, give it time ok..." he says pulling himself away from her to look into her water filled eye's with a hand place on each of her shoulders, wiping the tear from her eye, alice speaks, "i tried that... normally he responds... but he... i don't think he can hear me..." she says burying her face into his chest and starts to cry, the warrior just holds her close with a confused look to his face as he doesn't know what they can do, "your not really gone... are you?" are the words that float into his mind but cant bring himself to even put a sound to the words, for it is something he doesn't want to believe ether, but all they could do is wait, for only time would tell and reveal the events that happened, time was everything, and he knew that well.

days past, and things appear to have returned to normal, but the very street torn apart is still the same, construction on the surrounding area underway, cleaning up the devastation left behind but peoples hearts still torn, very few lost to the storm but many left with grave injury's, no one wanted to believe what happened and no one wanted to give into the thought that it had happened, but Alice, the girl in white, was now more then ever determined to find some clue about "him", The Champion, The Guardian, her Friend, He who was fighting another with in the storm, the storm that consumed them both shielding them from sight of the outside, but to no anvil there was no trace, no sign, nothing, yet she kept searching, searching for him, a search that would never end, and never start.
