That could have gone better. As usual, Treasure was searching for her namesake. She was in the jungle, a lot further south than she normally trekked. She wouldn't have come out all this way if it hadn't been for a good reason, and the treasure she'd heard of was reason enough for ten journeys. The one problem was... she didn't know much about the jungle. Swashbucklers were supposed to go gallivanting around the tropics and be familiar with fighting off crocodiles and all manner of jungle beasties. Treasure thought she'd be able to handle a jaguar should one attack, but this was different. This was relentless, unforgiving mud.
She was now stuck up to her knees. Pulling did nothing. Wriggling around did nothing. She'd tried to grab onto some tree roots with her teeth, but they were rotted through and gave no purchase. She wasn't sinking very fast. She wasn't even sure she was sinking at all anymore. Still, she was stuck even if she wasn't in danger of suffocating. She sighed, screwed up her face, and lost a bit of pride.
"Um... hello?" She called out, knowing that her voice wouldn't go far in the dense jungle. "Help please? Help? HELP!" She was so annoyed. What a rookie mistake!

Mina liked the jungle. She had spent a few years there with her family when she was young, though they'd eventually moved somewhere with less deadly wildlife. She always spent a couple weeks of the years back in her old stomping grounds. She had friends here, old friends that she'd kept in touch with through their lives. There was nothing more delightful than meeting up with old friends and finding out how much had changed in their lives... and how little their friendships had. She wasn't usually that social a person, but these trips of hers were an exception to that.
She was currently enjoying some time to herself. No one could stay around friends all the time, even best friends. She was examining a leaf with huddled white bats huddled within when she heard the sound, some muffled cry.
She blinked and looked around. What had that been? The second time she heard it more clearly, a cry for help! Leaving the bats to their roosting, she hustled to where the sound was coming from.

Treasure brightened a little when she saw who had come. A kalona! Jetsam had kalona wings just like her. She thought they were a bit more adventurous than regular soquili. Maybe they'd be more likely to understand how she'd gotten into this mess too.
"Hey," she said, as casual as they'd met beside each other at a watering hole. "How ya doing?"

Mina stared when she saw the mare. How had she managed to get that stuck? Quicksand could be dangerous, but she'd never heard of someone getting mired in the mud quite that badly. "Ah... hello," she replied, awkwardly unsure about the tone of the conversation.
"Do you need me to get someone?" She hoped the mare had friends nearby she could go fetch for her. She didn't want to go diving into the mud to pull her out.
