Taniyah took a deep breath before splashing her face with cold water. Another long night she managed to get through without as much as a single scratch upon her body. Things on Earth had been rough since the disappearance of the Justice League, and she couldn’t imagine what was happening in any of space’s sectors especially with the Green Lanterns being M.I.A. and all. Many of those, well, all of those, whom she tried to contact, only returned to her a static transmission…and she could not get a clear reading of presence either. Taniyah rested her eyes to remembering all of this, before hearing a cry from afar. It was a woman, and in an instant her ring glowed a beautiful green, her eyes lighting up like Christmas lights as well and Taniyah was off.

[Ten Ringed Menace]

The Green Lantern Corps, gone. The Guardians of the Universe dead. With the Sinestro Corps rising to prominence as the new 'Protectors' of the universe, Atrocitus had taken it upon himself to safe guard those worlds that would play a vital role in the years to come. Primary among them being Earth, home to the man he loathed like no other. Hal Jordan. But he was gone now too, and no one knew where. There were rumors he had gone renegade and was out in the outer sectors, but that was simply hear say.

Atrocitus glared down at the planet Earth from his place in orbit, watching the planet make it's slow rotation. This world seemed to draw an unusual amount of attention, as though it were a focal po-

Lord Atrocitus, Green Lantern Energy signature detected below. His ring informed him, disrupting his thoughts. Thoughts of fury rose to the fore at the mere mention of a Green Lantern resurfacing.

"Engage tracking." He ordered, sharp teeth gritting in anger. With a burst of energy he sped towards the coordinates his ring had pulsed directly to his mind. Thoughts of havoc and vengeance in mind, for any of the Guardians' lapdogs.

The woman screamed in terror as she was being held at gun point by a masked man. In quicker than a blink, Taniyah used her ring to move the woman to safety, and rid of the masked gunman. "Well that was anti-climactic. When's the real butt-kicking happen!" She thought to herself with a sigh and a laugh before taking a neutral pace back to her flat.

Green lantern energy signature five hundred meters

Atrocitus burst through the air at a great speed, the air crackling around him like thunder. Crimson energy burned around him as though he were on fire. His ring continued to track the distance between he and his target. He tightened clenched his fist, knuckles turning a darker shade from the the tension. Thoughts of blood on his mind.Whoever this Lantern was, they should not have returned. This world was under the protection of the Red Lanterns. He would not allow another one of the guardian's creations to blight this universe.

The emerald light emanating from the Lantern was visible from this distance. His teeth grit, a growl emanating from his throat. Napalm like spittle started to slip between the slits of his teeth. The fiery aura of light that burned around flashed brightly illuminating all of the streets below in a blood red hue.

As though taking a great breath of air, a crimson fire shout out from his mouth like blood, hurtling towards the ground in a large volume. It's napalm-acid like quality would burn through nearly anything it touched, even the green lanterns construct and power supply. Softening the lantern's defense in time for his impact.

Taniyah was strolling along, when she saw something out of the corner of her eye that immediately made her heart skip a beat. She looked up and her insides turned but she had no time to think more of it as she quickly jumped out of the spot she had stopped in, avoiding the hellish flames. Her ring and her eyes quickly glowed a florescent green once again as she stood in a fighting stance, breathing heavily from being caught so off-guard. "What in the fu-" She mumbled to herself still out of breath from the Adrenalin, trying to grasp what was going on.

The ground exploded before her, concrete,dust, and crimson flames shot out in every direction causing further damage to the area around them. The flames engulfed everything around them, burning away at everything. The bricks and cement burned furiously, melting and breaking apart at the unnatural fire that engulfed them. The air burned and crackled from the raw heat.

A lone silhouette could be seen amidst the flames. He stood there , unphased by the inferno around him. Stepping from the blaze, the giant figure glared at her and now it could be seen that he was the source of the flames, and that it now resembled more of a fiery energy than anything else.

"Why?!"Atrocitus snarled at the Green Lantern before him, uncaring of the fact that it was a younger woman. Those who bore the symbol of the Guardians, would all suffer the same. Not giving the young woman the chance to respond, he surged forward at her, spewing forth another great spout of his napalm like blood towards her.

Taniyah tried her best to catch her breath, choking and coughing in the thick air. Only as the air began to clear could she see who was attacking her, but little time did she have to think, because she had to make the quick reaction of projecting a shield from her ring, causing an energy clash between the two lanterns. Taniyah tried to keep her stance and push the seething creature away from her. "What...what the hell are /you/ doing here?! This...isn't your sector!" She shouted between breaths as she continued to hold her position.

Plasmic blood spilled over her shield, splattering across the surface, seething as it slid off and into the ground. It burned everything it touched, even the light that formed her constructs. Atrocitus pressed his hands against the shield, claws starting to seep through the cracks. An animal like growl escaped his throat "I HAVE NO SECTOR!" He roared furiously, raising both hands into the air, hands clenched into fist and smashed down onto her shield with the force of a wrecking ball.

"You have no place here! "He snarled, raising his fist once more, repeating the action again and again, sparks of energy bursting from each impact. " This world is under the Red Lanterns' protection now!"The sight of her was enough to spark his rage even further.

Taniyah struggled to keep her shield up, her face getting burnt with embers as the monstrous creature screamed and pounded hard on the only barrier between them. Her eye's brightness grew to what looked like a florescent green fire and she smiled deviously and laughed like a mad person. "Oh man...you just screwed with the wrong girl, buddy." Taniyah's eyes closed with her palms joined together and she quickly began to mumble what sounded like gibberish, soon after her eyes re-opening only a to be a blinding pure white color. "By the power of my authority I open this circle and release the guardians from my command. Water! I release your power from my circle! Fire! I release your power from my circle! Wind! I release your power from my circle! Earth! I release your power from my circle! Hail unto Sahia, my curse shall be done." And a massive wind tunnel formed around the two, sucking up objects that surrounded them and turning the sky black. She smiled at the creature, her eyes glowing what seemed more intense than the sun. Objects that whirled around the cyclone began to attract to Atrocitus like magnets, each item smashing into his body like a train.

"That the Guardians would allow a wielder of magic among their lanterns, is laughable. The very same crime they condemned the Five Conversions for eons ago."

Several large pieces of concrete struck the Red Lantern from left and right, causing his body to jerk from the force of each blow. They were stunning and painful to say the least, but Atrocitus knew pains like no other. And if all this lantern witch could conjur was a small storm, than he had nothing to fear. His thoughts were interrupted as a large piece of debris slammed into him head on, pushing him back several feet. He grabbed onto the slab with both hands, claws digging into the stone and tore it asunder.

"ENOUGH!" He roared furiously, slamming his foot into the ground, sending a massive explosion of burning red fire and energy in every direction, melting everything around them. The small alley was starting to look more like a living gateway to hell. Atrocitus charged towards the young lantern, several dozens blade edged chains of red energy spreading out around him and lashing out towards her as he neared.

Flame's of green fire licked the air surrounding Taniyah's body that only seem to grow more intense in it's glow with each passing moment. Her breaths became heavier after being caught in such suddenness and surprise, and for a moment she closed her eyes, almost in a moment of peace, the noise around her going silent; all she could hear was the deep breaths she was taking. It was almost the feeling of closing your eyes and not moving underwater in a swimming pool, or sleeping while floating weightlessly in space, like slow motion...drifting away...
But Taniyah finally snapped out of it, as she sensed the bladed chains hurdling towards her being. She tried to move out of the way as quickly as she could, but the edges of the chains seared the left side of her face and she screamed out in anger and pain. "Dammit!!!" Taniyah said as she gripped the burnt side of her face, "You...b*****d...NOW, oh now you've done it."

The ends of the chains slammed into the ground all around her, sparks of crimson electricity surging through them. In an instant all of the constructs exploded around her in a violently fantastic explosion, sending fire and destructive force in every direction. It was just the start of his onslaught.

"Little girl." Atrocitus whispered, the quiet tone somehow cutting through the destruction around them. He burst through the flames that engulfed her, a massive chunk of cement and concrete easily the size of a car in his hands. He had ripped it straight from the ground just a moment earlier. " We've just started!" He snarled before smashing the giant piece of debris towards her.
