Chozi was getting better. Or, at least he thought he was. He only coughed a few times today, and it was already noon. He felt an energy he hadn't felt in a long time, and so he made his way to the edges of the pride.

Normally, while he was so sick, he would stay close to his den just in case he needed to rest. Today, though, he thought he could risk a small adventure. It was hard, being so sick lately, that Chozi couldn't explore. He was restless. He needed to move! So he sneaked away from the motherly Nanth and escaped into the roguelands.

He wasn't sure how far he would make it before he became exhausted again, but it was worth a shot, right?

Dysi was wandering close to the Koti’kaikille lands, humming to himself. He wondered whether he should stop and see Makosa – he hadn’t seen the leopon since the boy was quite young and still living with Sukanya. Dysi always had a great deal of affection for Sukanya, as they had been friends for years, and since she had never had a consistent mate, he felt it was his responsibility to check in on her cubs, even if they were all grown up.

He wasn’t sure how Makosa would feel with him checking in on him though, so he continued along the edge of the pridal boundaries, enjoying the landscape.

Chozi barely made it to the border before he spotted an unfamiliar leopard. He frowned, looking too and fro for a guard, but the patrol had probably gone past already. He hummed, wandering towards the leopard.

"Hello?" He called. He didn't want to startle the pale figure, but if Chozi was honest, he was a little nosy! Nanth would probably find him soon and drag him back to the den. "What brings you here?"

Velveteen Angel
Dysi blinked as the stranger approached and he offered him a bright smile, trying to keep his posture non-threatening. He didn’t want to start anything. “Hello! I was just contemplating paying a visit to my nephew. Not sure he’d appreciate my butting into his life though.” He chuckled. “Kids never seem to appreciate adults nosing into their lives, huh?” He smiled.

“Don’t worry, I’m not here to cause any trouble. Just passing through!”

The leopard did look quite familiar, and he wondered why that was for a bit until the reveal that his nephew lived in the pride. "Oh!" he exclaimed. "Thats probably why you look familiar," Chozi gave a small laugh. His mind had been quite addled lately.

"Oh yes, my own children want me to butt out quite a bit," he frowned. They were adults, most of them, but he just wanted to make sure they were doing well. That wasn't too much to ask, was it?

"Did you want to come in?"
Velveteen Angel
Dysi chuckled. “To be honest, my nephew looks nothing like me,” he laughed. “My nephew is through my adopted sister. Not sure if you’d know him – his name is Makosa? I think he lives here with his partner, Tega.” He smiled. Of course, Dysi was unaware of the fact that two of his sons was living in the pride as well.
He was sympathetic at the males response. “Kids, huh? Not like we’re being nosy, I just like making sure they’re doing ok,” he murmured, a bit put out. His youngest litter were adults now, and off on their own adventures, except for his daughter who paid him and his mate visits often enough.

He hesitated. “Like I said, not sure if he’d appreciate the visit,” he said awkwardly, with a laugh.

"Oh," Chozi was flustered for a moment. He had met Makosa a few times, along with Tega. Of course he did. "Makosa's on the council," he said, like he had meant to think what he said, instead of actually saying it. "Tiegan probably knows him better than I do..."

"Well -- you never know until you try, right?" he asked hesitantly. He didn't know Makosa well enough to make that kind of judgement call. He didn't want to assume anything either.

Velveteen Angel
“Council?” Dysi repeated, impressed. Sukanya hadn’t told him that! “I’m glad to hear he’s made something of himself. He’s a clever lad, and very sweet – but he had so many issues with his visions, so I’m glad it’s turned out well for him,” he said with a smile. “Tiegan? Is that one of your offspring?”

He nodded, cautious. Perhaps he would make his way into the pride, see if he could re-connect with his nephew. “Perhaps I will. Are you able to show me the way in?” He asked. “I don’t want to get lost, or run into a guard who doesn’t like the look of me!” He chuckled.

Chozi gave a smile. It was quite impressive, and Chozi was proud of his sister, so he was sure Dysi was quite proud of Makosa. "Tiegan's my sister, actually!" And one of the two sisters that had joined the pride, and unfortunately the only infertile one of the trio. "She's on the council as well, and my other sister is a scout." Chozi himself was a dancer - probably the most plush of all the jobs.

"I can show you the way," He agreed. Coming and Going was easier as a hybrid, or if you had an escort in and out. "They won't get up in arms if you're with me, promise."

"This way," He started off in the direction of common area of the pride. There would be no escape from Nanth today, but perhaps next time!

Velveteen Angel
“Ah! That makes sense,” Dysi mused with a smile. “Thank you very much! I’m glad to hear I’ll have safe passage in. Sukanya, Makosa’s mother and my dear friend, told me that she didn’t have too much trouble going in and out, but I think that was because Tega came to fetch her from the border.”

He chuckled, as he started to follow Chozi. “I can understand the need to be cautious though. I don’t understand the prejudice against hybrids, most of my cubs are hybrids – though my long term mate is a leopard like myself.” He loved all species, and he was excited to see his nephew again, unaware that he might actually bump into a few of his cubs along the way as well.
