What are fel essences? To put simply, fel essences are things that you would not be able to find in nature in our universe. As explained on the front page, these essences are the last traces from an erased reality that have lingered since the great storm that destroyed the Yggdrasil tree at the beginning of creation.
Categories fel essences typically fall under are either contradictory, transformed, supernatural, or are a play-on-words. A majority of fel essences are contradictory, specifically taking a major or defining scientific or cultural component of an object and polarizing (making opposite of) that defining feature. Transformed essences are similar to contradictory essences in that some property of the object is altered, but not in a polarizing way. Other fel essences that are supernatural are often fel essences that are some feature of a mythical or divine creature that are altered from their natural states, or capture an intangible form, such as sound, emotion, or light. Other fel essences may simply be a play on words, that take a common phrase used in language that is turned literal. All fel essences are organic. Remember: these essences have been around since the creation of Lab 305’s earth, so human-made, mechanical, or artificial essences would not have existed back then.
