[PRP] The Lay of the Land (Sachiye x Nadeshiko)

Sachiye was wondering through the pride. She had met the bright blue boy not to ong ago and had agreed to come to his pride with him. Now she was wondering about trying to figure out where everything was and who everyone was. It had been a long time since Sachiye had spent any time in a pride. When she was younger she had grown up in a pride dominated by females. Not only that but they valued brightly coloured pelts, so Sachiye had been seen as valuable. Once the pride had disbanded Sachiye had spent time on her own. She became pretty self sufficient although she realized she really had missed being in a pride.

Thankfully she had found Lumi, or had he found her? It didn't matter in the long run. He liked her and it was for a reason she could understand her bring pelt appealed to him, as did her wing markings. Sachiye hoped she would be able to make other friends in the pride she was to call home.

"Of all the- ugh, did he think for one second I would buy any of his..his...filth?"

Nadeshiko wasn't in a particularly good mood. A passing rogue had asked for an audience with a merchant, and after being escorted by a Guard, she had been the unlucky soul to barter with him. She wouldn't have gone in the first place had he not spoken of the fine riches he carried. That should have been the first tip off, the second being he was a damned hyena. What sort of hyena told truths, hmm? Lying scum, the lot of them.

It had all likely been stolen, and not a bit of it valuable! Rough, hand me down pieces of jewelry with chips in the crystals and torn fabrics. Had he been starving or pitiful she might have bartered with him, but the scheming worm had actually pressed her into trading! The nerve! As if she would give any of her pieces away to that piece of hippo dung.

I'll never understan' rogues. Without proper structure they just fall apart. Even hyenas in packs had more charm than he did.

Tossing her mane into the wind, the perk lioness resumed her walk back to her den. Her packs were already in route, thanks to the lovely pair of Guards she had conned into carrying them. She was not meant for physical labor, after all. What kind of jewel would she be if she allowed herself to become tarnished by scars, or dirt?

As Sachiye moved through the pride she spotted another lioness walking on her own. She was a pretty lioness with multi coloured spots and a bright pink mane. It was a coat that would have fit in quite well in her old pride. She moved forward anxious to introduce herself to the stranger. She hoped that the lioness would be friendly, she assumed since she lived within the prides borders that the strange had to at least be non-violent. The pride didn't seem the type to have violent members about.

"Hello." Sachiye said as she come up next to the other female. She tried to gauge the female as she spoke but it turned out she wasn't all that good at such a thing. "I am new to the pride my name is Sachiye." she told her. The purple lioness had a nervous smile on her face.

She had every intention of avoiding conversing with the other lioness, but it seemed as if fate had other plans. Naturally, that did nothing to endear her to Nadeshiko. Pausing in her stride, the spotted lioness flipped her perfectly styled mane and hardened her crimson gaze on the purple lioness. "Hello," She said, most dispassionately. Her eyes roamed critically over the other female. Pretty coat, that's a nice purple and...white? Just purple and white? How borin'. It was most unfortunate, really. She might have been pretty had she not been so very plain.

"I 'pose ye need me for somethin', then? Are ye lost, lass?" There was more than a little bite to the way she spoke, and enough coastal accent to choke even the most experienced pirate.

Sachiye fought back a frown. From the moment the other lioness said hello Sachiye noticed a lack of warmth in her voice. Perhaps this other female wasn't a member of the pride, perhaps she was passing through. Sachiye was pretty sure however she would not be the first friend she would make.

Sachiye cocked her head at the accent of the other. She had never heard an accent like that, she wondered where the other lioness was from.

"No, I'm not lost. I am just new to the pride." Sachiye said trying to work up the courage for a real conversation. "I was just taking a look about, do you live here in the pride?" she asked. Perhaps once the other lioness realized that Sachiye was a member she would lighten up a little.

"Ah." The way she drug that bit on made it clear that Nadeshiko didn't much care. Unless this lioness planned on spending all of her hard earned meats and other such bits on her wares, Nade would only half listen. "Aye, I live here. I'm part of the Omádasálfa harem." Though for how long, she didn't know. There was still a testing period between herself and Hilal that had yet to be crossed. Maybe they wouldn't make it, or maybe they were meant for one another; who knew? All she knew was that this conversation was beginning to wear on her. Still, she knew she needed to be 'polite'. "You're knew, right? Who did you join with? Which harem are you in?"

Well there goes that idea. Sachiye thought when the other lioness responded in a tone that clearly she had no interest in friendships at all. When she told Sachiye that she was a member of a harem Sachiye had to fight hard to keep her jaw from dropping, it was hard to imagine that anyone would want this curt lioness as a member of their family unit.

"Well I suppose for now I am in the Ágamos Harem. I will be joining Luminoscer's harem when he finally makes it official. Do you know Luminoscer,?" Sachiye asked. She had already fallen for the male but she was interested in learning what type of male others in the pride saw him as. She knew he was born into a large family here in the lands.

So he hadn't taken her on as an official member yet? What a scandal! Not that Nadeshiko was going to spread gossip, oh no. She liked to collect information, but she never gave anything away...at least not for free.

"Luminoscer? Is he a Cantenmae?" The petite lioness tapped her chin with a claw and nodded. "I know o' him, but not much. His family be a large one, with more bein' added every day. One o' those types that knows he's good lookin'." Seemed to run in the gene pool with that harem, but Nadeshiko didn't mind it. The same was true of her, after all. "He's respectable, and used t' stay close t' his parent's tail tufts. That's all I really know o' him."

Sachiye listened thoughtfully. When the other lioness mentioned how the family was known for their good looks she couldn't help but have a large grin, his looks where exactly what had drawn Sachiye to the male to begin with.

"I am glad that he is a good male." Sachiye was a little worried that perhaps he was a momma's boy based on what the other lioness had told her. Being close to his parents was good, it should bean that he would be a good parent himself. Sachiye didn't want him to be too close to them though as she wanted to be the most important thing in the vibrantly coloured male's life. She would have to work on it and make sure.

"Well thanks for all your information, I really should get going though. Lots of lands for me to explore and to learn." she said with a kind smile. Sachiye could get use to pride life it seemed so much more carefree then being out in the rogue lands.

"About as good as they get, I suppose." Nadeshiko had always been harder on males than females, but that was strictly because of her background. The lifestyle she'd grown up in had made hardened bilge rats of them all, which didn't exactly endear her to this loving pride. Sometimes their sweetness sickened her, but she stayed. It was comforting in it's own way.

"If you need supplies or trinkets o' t' like, come see me. Don't let anyone tell you they have better booty than I do; theirs be just cheaper. Mine be quality, and that counts." She nodded firmly, and walked off to go her own way. Maybe she would find Tsubaki, ask her about a few things. More likely she would gossip with her about the events of the day, and that was just as good. The thought even made her contemplate a smile.
