[ Introduction ]

So you have a few ideas kicking around for some awesome Fel Essences, huh? Maybe have no place to put them for one reason or another? And you want to help out the Lab staff maybe? Well look no further than here! Welcome to the Fel Essence Collection Agency, where your ideas have a chance of being used in a future event as a part of a future Raevan!

As every Labbie knows, Fel Essences can be a challenge to come up with, but that's part of the fun! A lot of the time we see marvelous ideas come to life that end up sitting by the wayside, lost and forgotten. No more! If you have an idea that you'd love to see used and don't want or can't use for yourself, submit it using the form in the next post!

And, of course, because you're donating this awesome concept of yours, we all want to thank you for the contribution! You guys rock!

[ Form ]

If you happen to have a Fel Essence you want to donate to the Lab, all you have to do is fill in this nifty form below and post it here in this thread! Periodically one of the staff members will come by and look at the offered Essences, ultimately approving them if they seem fitting for a future Raevan.

Please be aware that the staff may tweak your concept a bit if necessary and that once your Essence idea is approved, it now belongs to the Lab as a future potential event Essence. This means it becomes locked from use, unless it shows up in an offered list of Essences for event entrants to select from!

Fel Essence Name: Rebellious Mercury
Description: This metallic element, also known as quicksilver, is the only known metal that is liquid under standard conditions for temperature and pressure. It is a poisonous chemical if ingested or inhaled but is used for a variety of equipment in our daily lives from thermometers to fluorescent lamps. While standard mercury will be in a liquid form at temperatures above −38 °F, anything colder will render it solid. This particular sample does quite the opposite, liquefying at low temperatures and solidifying when exposed to heat. Though mercury in its liquid form is especially buoyant, nothing is able to float along this essence's surface – it instantly swallows whatever material is introduced to it! It seems this has affected the mercury's ability to bond with other minerals, and instead of mixing with them it leaves objects corroded and decayed while in liquid form. Thankfully, it is rendered completely harmless in its solid state and is very easy to store at room temperature!
Appearance: An isometric cube roughly the size of a fist sits undisturbed in its bottle. It is shiny and reflective, clear and smooth on all sides though its edges are a little rough. Something like this.

Fel Essence Name: Unlucky Clover
Description: Due to its rarity, a four-leaf clover has been long coveted as a symbol of good luck and fortune. It is estimated that there are 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every single four-leaf, though it's often said that the green hills of Ireland have the most four-leaf clovers on Earth. Keeping a lucky clover is thought to bring someone good fortune in love, wealth, and all ventures they attempt. However, not unlike the tale of the monkey's paw, this innocent looking shamrock brings nothing but ill will and misfortune to those who possess it. It always starts small, first they stub their toe, then get locked out of their car, next thing they know they broke their arm in three places from falling down a flight of stairs. It seems to draw the line at bodily harm, as no one who was unlucky enough to own it has met with a terrible fate. In fact, the clover almost seems merciful once its mischief is done as it goes missing and finds a new victim once it's through. With each touch of the clover, another unfortunate event occurs. Keeping it locked away is strongly advised.
Appearance: Physically, there is no difference between this four-leaf clover and any other. It is small, green, and has four oblong leaves as well as a short stem. It may be a little dry and worn with age but it is no less vibrant and eye catching. Anyone would mistake this shamrock for the ultimate good luck charm.

Fel Essence Name: Malleable Diamond
Description: As a specific form of carbon and one of the hardest minerals in the world, diamond is prized in both jewelry and industry for its special properties. This shimmering pile of goop doesn’t look much, but closer analysis reveals that it is, in fact, a diamond. Acting more like putty than a precious stone this diamond can be stretched, squeezed, and molded in numerous ways – though it will always slump back into an indistinct lump, and interestingly, cannot be separated or cut in any way. Not quite what someone may have in mind for a diamond necklace, but at least it still sparkles in the sunlight.
Appearance: When resting the diamond has a similar shape to molten glass or putty that has been left to sit for a while, somewhat like this (rounded edges, indistinct shape). Color wise, it is transparent with incursions of color (think the shape and numerous colors of diamond facets, but distributed randomly throughout the goop), and the colors shift depending on how light is hitting it (pretty much just super sparkly).

Fel Essence Name: Androgenic Spearmint
Description: The antiandrogenic properties in spearmint are known to reduce the levels of free testosterone in the blood, which helps stop excessive hair growth, such as in women who have conditions like hirsutism. However, this cluster of spearmint rapidly accelerates hair growth and makes the total amount of testosterone in the body rise dramatically, causing all sorts of physical and emotional changes. The most common effects are a sudden deepening of the voice, uncontrollable hair and muscle growth, rapid bone growth, and a very foul temper, but other things such as acne and increased strength have been reported.
Appearance: A cluster of spearmint, possibly saturated in tea or water. It looks harmless.

Fel Essence Name: Shrinking Violet
Description: Violets are beautiful and fragrant, and their scent is harvested for all sorts of lotions and perfumes -- and this particular bush is fuller and more fragrant than most. When there's an attempt to pick the flowers, however, the blooms shrink back and away, rapidly minimizing to the point where it's difficult to get a hand on them, leaving only a small handful to harvest. As soon as the danger of being plucked has passed, though, the bush bounces back to its former glory.
Appearance: Physically, it looks no different from a sprig of your garden-variety violet flowers.

Fel Essence Name: Gilded Lily
Description: The phrase "gilding the lily" is often used to refer to the foolishness of embellishing something that is already complete, but this time, it seems to have been taken somewhat literally. This particular lily blossom looks as if it has been dipped in liquid gold, and while the thin layer of metal can be scratched away to reveal an average colored flower beneath, closer inspection will show that the metal is not just golden in color, but in fact, gold itself. Given enough time this gold will grow back, the flower somehow generating the precious metal all on its own as it lives.
Appearance: A lily blossom complete with stem and leaves that is not only completely golden in color, but actually metallic in nature. OR: A lily blossom that fades to metallic gold at the edges of it's petals and leaves. (Up to the artist!)

Fel Essence Name: Dehydrating Water
Description: Water is the basis for all life on this earth, and regardless of whether it is consumed or absorbed most life will seek it out. This water, however, does not quench thirst or give life. The touch of this water draws out any moisture in whatever it comes in contact with, and exposure to it in large quantities often result in death.
Appearance: It just looks like plain old water!

Fel Essence Name: Rock Star
Description: Everybody knows what rocks look like. They're those weird lumpy, awkward things you see hanging out on the ground just kind of existing. Not this rock. This rock was found in nature with a smooth-edged star shape. No lumps on this boy. Perfect little geometric shape. To make it even odder, it seems that it is affecting other object in the area as well, giving them equally unnatural but appealing shapes.
Appearance: A star shaped rock, floating within the jar. Possibly with other equally geometric shaped stones circling it.

Fel Essence Name: Visible Atom
Description: Atoms are supposed to be super small, impossible to see with the naked eye. This one didn't seem to get with the program and instead is very clearly visible within the vial it is placed in. And... is it growing bigger?
Appearance: It's however you guys choose to interpret an atom looking like. But it's visible.
