The story begins in the year 305. Humanity's population has been drastically dwindling in recent years with the threat of the Krye, a demonic species, looming and attacking in the shadows. An academy was constructed to train the young men and women to combat these forces. The cadets, starting from as young as ten, endure brutal training: pain and broken bones, influenza, cuts, blisters, burns, bruises, and training segments that start from the wee hours of the day until a couple hours before dawn only to repeat the same thing again--four hours of sleep was a blessing. After ten years of the academy, they are allowed to graduate the join a squad: these squads have competitions against one another and the top four are always sent out on the front lines when the Krye attack. Each squad is named after one of the Zodiac signs totaling at twelve in all. For the last twelve years, Scorpio has been dominating the competition leader board followed further behind by Sagittarius, Taros, and Leo. For the last twelve years, Virgo has been in last place.
Until now. Character A is a new recruit fresh out of the academy. He is highly motivated to live up to his deceased father's name, but is lacking in experience and skill. His strongest qualities are his enthusiasm and fiery, friendly, and optimistic personality. Character B is two to four years older than Character A and is the new leader of Virgo who wants to make the squad the strongest. He is a quiet, but intense kind of man with high-level skills and experience, but is not good with people or emotions. He has a history with the current leader of Scorpio and whether it is a good one or not is unknown; rumors say they have had a physical relationship in the past. The two are complete opposites. And yet are somehow drawn to one another. Will their love blossom or be destroyed in a society where actual relationships that are more than just a fling are frowned upon?
Eventually, one of them dies in a bloody battle. But that isn't the end. Over the years, they met again and again, never staying together for more than a few years or months.
