[Velveteen Angel]

EVENT

Prometheus laughed outright at Hu's comment, unable to stop himself. "You, spare me?" He roared in delight. "You are forgetting, stupid leopard, who will spare you?" He grinned, a savage and unfeeling grin.

He was taken by surprise at the pale male's attack, and he was thrown to the side in the force. He shook the leopard off quickly enough, swatting at him as he went but hitting nothing.

He had to plan his next attack carefully. Again, he aimed for the adolescent, unknowingly mirroring Neculai's own attack.

He launched himself at Chiyo, but his blow only struck lightly, not what he had intended at all.

EVENT

Neculai was surprised at the fury of the attacks that were launched at him, swiping desperately at those who attacked him. It was the young adolescent male who drew first blood from him in the frenzy, his teeth and claws tearing at his flesh and Neculai roared his displeasure.

When the pale white and pink female was added into the battle, Neculai snarled. "Clearly you think they cannot defeat me, or else you would not come to their aid!" He snapped.

Two more missed their marks on him, and he was grateful. But the last blow struck him and he groaned in pain.

He knew one way to injure the colony more than his blows would.

He aimed his attack at Ai, hitting the adolescent across the face in a direct blow, claws extended. He could not defeat them all, but he could break their spirits. "Die," he snarled at the adolescent.

[Velveteen Angel]

Ai was shocked as Necuali launched himself towards him, his eyes going wide, and he struck out, hitting the male's foreleg as the paw came towards him. Opening his eyes wider was the worst thing he could do, he realised aftewards as the claws scraped across his face.

He roared in pain, and the blow sent him sideways, falling and skidding across the ground. Blood dripped from his face and he laid still, shocked and hurt.

Hu heard the sound of his son in pain and he spun on the spot, his eyes wide as he saw him hit the ground because of the brown lion. He didn't hesitate and threw himself forward with a roar of hatred as he launched himself at the brown lion, ignoring the purple one that he had been fighting not moments before.

His son. His son laid bleeding on the ground and he hadn't been there to protect him.

In his fury, he didn't seen the purple lion attack Chiyo. His claws ripped into Neculai with fury.

Arcus heard Ai's cry of pain, but he saw Chiyo being attacked. All the attention was focused on the brown lion now, but the purple one appeared the most threat.

Arcus growled and glanced at Chiyo. "Are you ok?" He demanded gruffly as he circled the purple lion with deliberate movements.

He swiped at Prometheus, trying to get the attention from Chiyo. His claws merely grazed.

Pushing herself back upright, Orna felt her will weakening. She might have landed a hit once, but that would be the only one... She wanted to help...

Lifting her head, she looked up just in time to see her brother go flying. She let out a shriek of despair, and instantly ran after him. "Ai!" Forgetting about the stinging from the scratches on her head, she focused right in on her brother. She couldn't remember if any good herbs were around her. Oh, her mind was going blank! Her brother was bleeding so badly! If only she hadn't faltered, maybe Ai would still be okay!!

With a small whimper of guilt and concern, she started licking Ai's face, trying to clear the blood away.

[Painted Moose]

Scheherazade nodded her approval when Naim came in to assist. Any and all watching over them, over the pride itself, was welcome. The lions words served only to irritate her. Things were looking rough, but surely...

The attack on Ai hit Scheherazade as hard as if the lion had struck her. She watched her son fall, aware only after a few moments that he was not the only voice crying out. Unconsciously she had screamed with as much shock as she had grief, but she would not budge. All she needed was to see her mate attacking Neculai for her paws to charge at the male with blind rage. That was her baby boy! She wasn't strong enough to defend him, nor was she firm enough to keep him away from the fighting...but she sure as hell wasn't going to let this lion get away from her. The limber leopardess struck fast; going for his face as he had Ai.

Dodging the purple lions attack, Chiyo kept her safe distance. Her attention was diverted for just long enough for her to see Ai crumpled on the ground. "Ai!" Had the brown lion not already have a swarm on him she would have aided, but for now, her focus was on Prometheus. She couldn't help her brother; she was no healer, and she had already seen Orna tending to him. The best she could do for him now was to put an end to this and draw the fire away from them. Keep him safe, sister.

Chiyo turned to Arcus and nodded. "I'll be better when these bastards are down." She too circled him, and when an opportunity presented itself Chiyo made a risky move; she leapt onto his back, sinking her claws into his hide.

Deker had moved away from the fight a little, when he saw the adolescent male that he had been talking to go down he felt a flip in his stomach. Deker believed everything that he had said to the teens earlier was true, the problem in this colony was the leadership. Not just there father, but perhaps all the colony's leadership needed to be reworked. This was just no good.

For now Deker resisted the urge to state a loud I told you so no no this wasn't the time or place not when the young male was bleeding and his mother was grieving. The adolescent had no business being here in the first place but Deker was saving his thoughts on the matter for later.

Deker turned his attention towards the brown male that had joined the fight, the male seemed to know his fighting, "Perhaps our attentions would be better spent on the purple lion." he told him. It was clear that the brown lion now more than had his hands full.

Naim turned when Deker spoke to him, the young warden hadn't had a chance to officially meet the newest council member but he had to admit he was right. There attention was now to focused on the brown lion, admittedly he had taken the younger leopard down, and that leopard was the son of a council member but still that didn't change the fact that the purple lion did actually look like a bigger threat.

Quickly he turned towards Prometheus Arcus has just missed a swipe and the adolescent female was still clinging to his back. Naim took a deep breath and charged at the side of the line. He made good contact shifting slightly so that his shoulder was what would make the most impact with the lion. Careful to make sure he wasn't going to make contact with Chiyo at all. "That was for Ua" Naim said breathlessly as he moved away. His voice was full of passion, a rare thing for the chocolate coloured leopard but Ua brought it out in him.

Lions really were attacking them? She had hesitated at first when the others ran out of shock, but now Sayuri’s paws were taking her to the fight. As the adolescent arrived on the scene she watched Ai being attacked. Feeling her heart leap out of her chest at the sight of her brother’s blood the leopardess growled.

Without thinking the normally quiet girl nearly had launched herself forward, but her mother's attack made her hesitate instead. So instead she moved towards Ai to check on him, “Ai!” Blinking at Orna she bit the bottom of her lip…what to do…what to do. Noticing some plants on the ground around them the little leopardess bit into them, “Here Orna…this might help.” Her gaze was calm and her voice even but on the inside her heart was racing.

Surely Ai would be alright…he was strong.

Still her heart was in a knot as she watched her family fighting around her.

((You can count these two as one post. I derped and meant to roll for Nasim as well so here's a new post for that.))

Nasim cursed as the noise of lions drew his attention. So they really were raising their heads now? Smirking at the challenge the leopard looked to the female he had been talking to, “Take care since I doubt those lions will let your wings fly you away easily.” He just hoped she would keep safe…then again. He hesitated as he watched others running in that direction. What if these lions were a distraction from a bigger group? Running to fight could help the others, but who would defend those lingering behind?

His gaze burned with frustration as he kept back to keep guard here.

But as the sounds kept going his pacing began to increase. Should he head on over? What if they needed him? Arcus and Hu are there though…along with others. Surely they could handle themselves. Still he found that his paws were taking him closer…

As he watched the purple lion hit Chiyo the leopard growled, "Hey! Why don't you stop pickin' on the little one and really fight!" Angry to see the adolescent hurt Nasim swung out with his claws towards Prometheus.

EVENT

Prometheus roared in displeasure as the adolescent launched herself onto his back, twisting and roaring as he tried to dislodge her from his back. She was determined that she would be throw from him, but it was only when another leopard launched himself at him, hitting his shoulder and the pain was all over his body that Prometheus thought that perhaps they were out numbered. They would kill a leopard easily, if they were alone but with the pack as they were...well, it was just foolish.

Prometheus didn't know what the male was talking about as he spoke to him, but he ignored it. He didn't care who 'Ua' was. He just wanted these leopards AWAY from him!

A new leopard had appeared also, and more claws struck at Prometheus. He could see that Neculai was also struggling, and though he was loathed to do it, he called out to Neculai.

"Brother, fall back!" he snarled, and with a quick twist he had dislodged Chiyo from his back, sending her towards the ground harshly as he rolled onto the ground, and then back to his paws.

He didn't dare attack again, instead he barreled through the forest, away from the leopards. His huge figure broke branches as he ran, a tank in the usual graceful forest.

Prometheus has FLED the battle!

EVENT

Neculai had been hit as he struck the young leopard, but he was grateful that his mark had struck true. He sneered, even as the leopard launched himself onto his back, ripping into him.

He cried out in pain, not as tough as Prometheus was but determined to battle to the end. He knew he was reaching his limit though, and the blood he was losing from the scrapes and cuts all over his body was getting to him. When Scheherazade launched at him, he barely had a chance to fight her off.

Her claws struck his face, hitting across his face but he had closed his eyes, protecting his precious eyeballs from the claws, though he bled quick profusely.

He heard Prometheus call out and he was grateful. So grateful that his brother-in-arms decided to fall back. He would die here otherwise. He snarled at the leopards gathered around them, blood dropping down his face and scratches marring his body.

He took off after Prometheus, his own large figure breaking branches as they fled.

[Velveteen Angel]

Ai was bleeding quite badly, and he knew that. He wasn't a healer or anything, but he knew that bleeding from the face was not good. He didn't dare open his eyes, for fear that he wouldn't be able to see even if he did open them.

He could feel his sister, Orna, close to him and he whimpered back. "It's ok Orna," he whispered back, though his voice shook. Damn it. He was the big brother! He needed to look after them. "It's just a scratch." A scratch that was slowly soaking his face in blood.

When Sayuri arrived, Ai felt rather...loved. His sisters were protecting him and he felt appreciative of that but still. "I'll be fine," he repeated, but again his voice wobbled in fear. Oh god. What if he wouldn't be?

Hu felt intense relief flow through him as the lions fled. They had defeated them. Their colony was safe.

But at what cost?

"LET THEM GO," he roared, in case any of his colony members were to try and follow them. He immediately turned towards his son, rushing over to his side.

"We need a medic!" he bellowed.
__________________________

Ua, who had been hiding in the trees off to the side, waiting for the lions to leave, rushed out from her hiding place. She had been terrified, watching the battle but she had forced herslef not to leave. This was because of her that they were fighting, and she knew the battle would be bloody. She was right.

When she appeared to the crowd, the look Hu gave her was pure poison, as she had put herself into harms way by staying near the battle, and not going home like Naim had told her.

She shot him a defiant look. "I'm a medic, Papa!" She shot back and rushed to her baby brother's side. She had already crushed some herbs in her mouth, and began to gently press it into her brother's wounds. It would sting painfully, but it would slow the bleeding.

"Thank you, Orna, Sayuri," she whispered lovingly to her sisters. "Can you stay? I may need you still."



Arcus felt useless once the lions had fled, breathing heavily and scratched. He had no other enemy to fight. He was useless now, but as he glanced around at the broken group, some bleeding, some fine, he was proud of their effort.

The adolescents shouldn't have been in the battle though and his eyes narrowed at Hu. Why had he let them stay?

"Everyone, fall back to the colony!" He bellowed, his voice loud in the clearing. "Warrior Nassim, Warden Naim, follow me. We will patrol the boundary before returning to the colony."

It was clear from his tone. There would need to be a discussion following this brutal attack.

[Painted Moose]

Chiyo hit the ground. Hard. She landed on her shoulder and the fast descent caused her head to slam against the ground. It was enough to take the air from her lungs, or perhaps her brain had been jarred so much she had forgotten how to scream.

For a while she lay on the ground, hearing on a faint buzzing as her vision swam. Sound was the first sensation to return to her. She heard her papa, but she just couldn't get to him...Ai needed her, Mama...Ua? And that...Sayuri? Chiyo took a deep, albeit shaky breath and tried to roll up with a groan. Her shoulder protested the abrupt movement, and the sharp spike of pain kept her grounded. She blinked, rapidly at first and then slower as some of her sight came back to her. The lions were gone; she couldn't see their blurry colors, but saw the colors of the leopards who had come to her aid. It made her feel safe enough to lay her head back so she could catch her breath.

HP: 4

Scheherazade felt sick.

As she joined her family, the mother was noticeably quieter than the rest. The fight had visibly drained from the female; her pale eyes had lost whatever vibrancy they once held. All she could do for her son was to stare at him. Scheherazade was no medic, and her claws hadn't been enough to save him from injury. I've failed.

She moved past her daughters, keeping her gaze away from Hu, and settled close enough to Ai so that they touched without interfering with their work. "You were very brave today, baby." Scheherazade's voice was low; a soft murmur meant only for Ai, but audible to those close enough.  

[Sabra Knight]

Oh Ai....Sayuri's heart was in her chest as she looked around. Even Chiyo was on the ground from the battle and the leopardess felt torn between her siblings. Where should she run to help? I should have been here to fight as well. Even with her petite size she felt useless to the group. Her siblings were injured and here she was being useless.

Ua saved her, "Just tell me what to do and I'll do it." Her pink gaze was burning bright with determination as she stared at her older sister. She was ready to help those who needed her.

In the back of her mind rested a worry though what if those lions came back again? Who would be hurt next and what if it was more than just injuries? Her stomach knotted at the thought as she forced herself to focus on her siblings. They needed her now so she had to be strong.

Snarling as the two lions ran off Nasim had to hold back the urge to chase them down. His gaze was fiery as he turned towards Hu. If he could just be allowed to chase down those two and give them what they deserved for hurting colony members...the old rough ways of rogue life tugged at the leopard, but the sight of Chiyo on the ground helped to snap him back to his senses.

"Can you at all?" His voice was gentle as he inspected the adolescent. Her shoulder... Before he could inspect much more Nasim heard his name being called, "Yes sir!" Leaving the female in capable hands the leopard turned to head towards his comrades. If those lions were to ever enter his sight on this patrol...he just grinned at the thought. It would be their turn to be on the ground.  

[Cornetified]

She had wanted to help... but she'd only been a distraction. She was convinced that her hesitation was why Ai had taken such a hit. "Sayuri..." She could barely focus on what the plant was that Sayuri was trying to get her to see, but she finally accepted it to mash and smear onto Ai's wounds. When Ai spoke, she practically cried with relief. He was still conscious.. "I.. I know, Ai," she murmured, feeling herself calming back down a little now that she was supported by her sister and being productive. "O-of course you'll be fine."

Then Ua joined their side, and she felt even more relief. Someone with experience would serve Ai better. When she heard Ua's thanks and request though, her belly clenched. What good was she right now? Besides, Sayuri was already accepting. Her mother's words to Ai sealed the deal. She wasn't brave enough... "I'm.. gonna check on Chiyo," she murmured, frustrated tears welling up. Quickly, she turned and padded over to Chiyo's side, sitting with her head butting gently up against her sister's. "You... want help.. getting back?" Heck, she would probably falter again and make Chiyo hurt even more! She would help if she could...

Naim's eyes narrowed when Ua came out of the trees. He was happy that she was here to help her young brother, but at the same time he felt so angry that she had put herself in danger. She wasn't all better yet, she was still healing and she had put herself at risk being her. He didn't understand why he felt angry, still unable to truly put his feelings for Ua into words. When she gave him a defiant look he couldn't help but crack a small smile, at least she knew that she had possibly been making a bad decision.

He unfortunately didn't have a lot of time to go and great her, she was busy with her brother, and then Arcus called out an order for him and warrior Nasim to follow him. He would have to find her after his patrols. For now the safety of the colony was more important than talking to Ua and figuring out the full range of his emotions.


Deker fell back into the tree lines faster than most. The newest council member was pissed! Sure they had won the battle but it had been at a cost. the adolescent male that he had been talking to on the way out here now lay bleeding, from the looks of things his eyes may have been damaged. The colony leaders should have never allowed an adolescent to be out here.

As he lept back into the trees he saw the family collecting around the male, he wished now to tell them all of for their stupidity but now wasn't the time. They needed to be with each other and heal just a little before he informed them just how stupid they all were, and what a grave mistake they had been make. Something had to be done and it had to be done soon.

The purple leopard took one last look at the scene before he sank into the shadows of the trees. Soon they would all hear what he had to say, whether they liked it or not.  

[Painted Moose]

Cornetified

"Yeah, just a little tired..." Chiyo grunted. Hearing Nasim and Naim being called out for patrol made her bite her lower lip. It should have been her doing the rounds. Hadn't she earned her place? ...She shook her head. This wasn't how she expected this to turn out, and in truth Chiyo didn't want to go with them. It burned, of course, but she just wanted to get away for a while.

If I can. She was broken out of her revere with a brief smile just for Orna. It faded as soon as she tried to put weight on her shoulder. Chiyo hissed, but forced herself through it to stand. "...Would you?" She asked meekly. While her vision had returned her head still throbbed, and she leaned heavily on her good side.
