Is GT any good? I've heard a lot of people complain about it so I haven't really given it a chance. sweatdrop
GT has its moments and tries to harken back to the days of Dragon Ball, but overall feels shallow and uninspired. It also introduces two and a half mascot characters in the form of Teen Pam, GT Trunks, and Gi-ru who tend to do not much of anything other than get in the way in important battles.
I actually don't mind the main story arcs presented in GT; the Z Warriors did abuse the dragon balls and Truffle technology was present in the Freiza arc, meaning that if they had survived the civil war and Freiza nuking the planet somehow, that they'd be a force to be reckoned with.
People frown upon GT mainly for it being considered non-canon to the main DBZ timeline, and Xenoverse confirms that. It's canon within its own timeline, but not the main timeline that led to Super Saiyan God and the foundation of Toki Toki. While Akira Toriyama did work on character design, he did not have any input on storyboard and didn't want to have any part of GT's production.

I think GT is considered non-canon. Especially since the OVA's over the years and the two latest movies sort of... tip it off the realm of possibility? I don't think there's any sign of Bra being born (who was older then Pan)....
I suppose it could be considered an alternate timeline, but for me, it's all just anime original. So it's canon to the fans that want it to be, and to be forgotten by the rest.
