Hey, just joined this guild and I am very interested in the topics discussed! I'm nineteen years old and currently in my last year of secondary school in Ireland, trying to study for important exams at the end of the year but struggling to conform to a system I don't believe in. I like to question the society I'm in and find it hard to understand how the majority sleepwalk through not even realising that there is anything to question in the first place.
Welcome. The answer is fiction. The media inundates the masses with fictional depictions containing enough symbols of the truth of corruption or conspiracy that when they then follow up with the straw man and demonize the people seeking real answers and not seeking to bend knee to authority, the masses see that narrative in the light of idiots and madmen who get what they deserve. The masses then conclude while they are themselves periodically subservient and poor, that their condition is still superior, for they are at least not fools or lunatics.
Their anger is also decentralized and taken apart, given faceless entities instead of people, like the Tax department, or management, or the head office. Typically the people in charge are nameless and in some other country and totally unreachable. Compartmentalization also makes it easy for the villains to hide in plain sight.
This guild hasn't been highly active in years, but feel free to PM various members with questions or topics. I'm certain some of us are still active.
