In light of concerns of how the flatsales are being run, we've come up with a solution that will hopefully make the process less stressful and invite a larger time frame for people to participate! For now on, we will have new non-owner character profile thread for everyone to submit their potential Guardians. You may only have one post, and if you want to change your Guardian, you may, but please notify staff first. This is new because staff will approve Guardians in that thread and list them in the second post. It negates the need for the Guardian portion of the flatsales and allows you to jump into RP right away.

The second change is that we will now offer either a variety of souls or a variety of fel essences per flatsale! This way, the art can be finished before hand and allow for more events to be run. It also removes the second round in the flatsale and will put the focus entirely on one round: the prompt response! We hope this will give everyone ample time to plan and post their entries from here on out.

Don't worry though, we're not entirely eliminating other types of sale that will let winners pick fel essences or souls of their choice.

An additional note to the non-owner character profiles: this will be the one Guardian that you are allowed to RP with! We will be limiting characters that can participate in ORP's, both to encourage people to jump in without being overwhelmed and to focus on more meaningful interactions.

.............● Non-owners will be allowed ONE Guardian to RP with.
.............● An owner who is waiting for their Raevan is allowed TWO characters, but the second needs to be tied to the Guardian you're playing, not someone else's character.
.............● Raevan owners are allowed THREE characters, including the Raevan. Again, the other two need to be a Guardian and someone related to them in some fashion.

We will no longer be accepting two Guardians for a Raevan, so please choose wisely! If you have any questions about anything from this update, please feel free to ask in the thread!

[ The Big Take Aways for those TL;DR folks! ]

............. [ On Non-Owner Profiles ]

- We're trying to pare down the amount of posts someone may have in the non-owner thread to one. This will reduce clutter and allow the staff to focus on your main character.

- This doesn't mean you may only have one iteration of a guardian. Develop all you want- but use a quest thread until you find someone you can associate with and rp with.

- Once you feel you've locked into a solid character, post it in the non-owner thread as a guardian prospect for staff review.

- If you develop minute changes in your 'locked in guardian' - PM the staff about it and we'll work through re-evaluating on a case by case basis.

- These changes are so that the staff can track your changes and stay up to date with your potential plots. NOT to limit creative development!

- If you have a married character, or a character with a secondary attached on [relationship or familial]- we understand that that is your plot. However. Only ONE may be the guardian of the Raevan and that is accountability. Much like a loan, you have the applicant and a co-signer. Co-signer should sit in the background for the major events in the Raevan's life.

- Let's not knock it until we've tried it. It's as much as a new experience for us as it is you. Maybe it'll be the next Cronut.

- Give the artists a little wiggle room for you. There is a lot of effort in creating something new from a fel essence that's custom- It's like a 2/3 custom! You know how your muse leaves you for a certain character? The same can happen when drawing, and forcing out something you're not enjoying drawing can lead to overly simplistic or bad art... we don't want that ):

- And repetition. This will not replace the 2/3 custom sales! It's just something new!

- These new standards are pretty concrete so we can lower intimidation of block posts and too many characters.

- These rules ONLY apply to ORPs. You want more OCs in your Raevan's life? Have at it- just limit it to your journal and PRPs please!

- For non-owners? Think of this as brownie points to your entries- we want to see how your guardian acts in the community! So let the spotlight be on them and not their adjoining relationships because at the end of the day your potential guardian will be in the limelight for the entry. Feel them out a little and give them a chance so go un-smothered.

MAKE SURE YOU'VE READ EVERYTHING. Everyone, including you have other obligations! We don't want to waste time re-iterating something already outlines and YOU don't need to waste your time asking something already answered.

I have a possible suggestion for fel essences!

One thing I remember being said is there were occasional difficulties figuring out what fel essences might work in sales where people pick their own. A possible solution might be to create an approval thread similar to the one for guardians! People would post their fel essence concepts in the thread to work out the kinks with staff, and once it's considered acceptable it'd be approved. Similar to the character thread people would be limited on the number of essence concepts they could have (possibly 1-3), and when a sale comes along they would be allowed to use an approved essence, eliminating the need for the staff to wrangle over concepts during a sale.

Also, in case there are new comers who haven't had time to use the thread, or have difficulty conceptualizing essences, there could still be a small selection of premade essences during entrants choice sales. Additionally, after someone becomes an owner it could be possible, with permission granted, for their unused concepts to be added into a general pool for future sales.

Once again, this would only be for entrants choice sales, but I think it could be a good way to help people understand how essences work and streamline those sales too.
