Still In Need of that Banner Artsus ;w;
Because the webcomic will go through the whole of the RP in extreme detail, this is only the condensed version of the Meta Plot to give the random passerby a sense of an idea of what's going oon
Gaia, 20XX
The Animated had just appeared on the southernmost continent, and two young friends have boarded the fateful ship, the S.S. Mary Anne, and plan to go on a cruise around the world. Mabe and Twila, along side with the 148 passengers, were caught in a thunderstorm that made the S.S. Mary Anne crash outside of Gaia's borders. In the resulting storm, Twila and Mabe were separated and wouldn't see each other for a long time.
Mabe's Story:
Xe was drowning. The rough waters made xir fur heavy and the crackling lightning momentarily blinded Mabe. And then a crash was heard and xe was pulled out of the stinging sea and on to the cold wooden floors of what could only be a boat. A looming figure stood before xem. Mabe had been found and saved by none other than Captain Edge the Tall. For days Mabe as in and out of consciousness and when they finally returned to the land of the living, most of xir memories had been wiped clean save for the fleeting moments with their friend Twila. Captain Edge, a UAA transporter, had taken Mabe in on the condition that xe worked for xir stay, and in return, he would help find Twila.
But the UAA had recently been having trouble with the Humanoid nations, so Edge had been smuggling Anthro's out of their nations and back to the safety of the UAA. It didn't help that the Humanoids had started a blockade on all Anthro goods, and business was drying up for Edge, forcing him to take on more and more smuggling jobs and other illegal affairs. Months had passed with him doing so in total secrecy, until he brazenly declared himself a pirate and openly helping the Anthros outside of the UAA. Hearing this, the Elven nation of Vania sent their top fleet to attack him in hopes to subdue the smuggling ring.
Twila's Story:
There was so much noise. Thon had struggled against the current when the boat had crashed and thon tried to swim towards Mabe when a lightning struck and Twila saw Mabe sink down in the ocean. Clinging to a piece of driftwood along with Total Biscuit, thon's OMG pet, Twila managed to hit dry land on one of the Elven islands of Vania. Taken in as an oddity for thon's dark purple skin, Twila was sent to the Naval Academy before being shipped of to sea under the command of Captain Clovis Guatier, who, despite being a total hardass, helped thon climb the ranks. But after only a few months under his command, disaster struck. Captain Guatier was charged with high treason as a spy for the Freedom Fighters, a secret society whose mission is to destroy the Vanian monarchy, and was beheaded.
Twila was then moved under the command of Captain Hilaire Bastardo, a staunch supporter of the monarchy, and was shipped out to stop a gang of pirates who had been undermining the authority of Vania. And it was there that the Dark Elf would see thon's old friend once more.
Battle of the Swollen Sea:
When Mabe saw xir friend on board the Elven Naval vessel, xe knew xe had to convince Edge not to kill thon. But when Captain Bastardo opened fire upon them, Edge was forced into battle and declared death to all "Elven scum". Mabe, not wanting Twila to die, declared mutiny, and began fighting both Edge and the Bastardo's forces. Seeing what thon's friend was doing, Twila did the same, and ended up killing Bastardo. The two jumped ship on a raft and ended up lost at sea.
Grulin Island and Gexims Enclave
Mabe and Twila crash land on an island that is, unbeknownst to them, close to Gaia. After finding it uninhabited, Mabe declared it their island and names it Grulin Island because "it sounds pleasing to my ears and tastes nice in my mouth." After some exploring, they find an abandoned hut belonging to a man named Marcus Athens, who had been examining the weather patterns around Gaia and how it correlated with the scripts of a mad monk who warned that in times of dire distress, Gaia could in fact put a magical barrier around itself in the form of a thunderstorm. Reading the journal brought forth some of their memories, and Twila & Mabe decided to continue exploring the island.
After coming across a large cave, dubbed Gexims Enclave by Mabe, they find a tiny robot by the name of Ralph, whom they reactivate. He tells them he was the last creation of Marcus before he died due to the thunderstorm, and that he's supposed to help lift the border of Gaia to help them with their problems. He also becomes fast friends with Total Biscuit, much to Mabe's chagrin, and they make a new boat fashioned out of barrels to continue onwards.
The Barrel Crew:
Out in sea, the trio and Total Biscuit get caught by Edge, who declares Mabe their enemy, but grants them mercy due to their past kinship. He had survived the battle with the Navy, but at the cost of his eye, and tauntingly calls Mabe and the rest of them "a crew of barrels," causing them to pick up on the moniker as the Barrel Crew. The two crews part, and the Barrel Crew manage to land on human territory to sneak supplies. There, they come in contact with a mute giant by the name of Hansel. After a complicated form of communications involving their hands, the Barrel Crew realize that Hans (forever dubbed Hands by Mabe) is not going to report them, and instead helps them get a ship.
After buying a "haunted" ship (it is in fact an enchanted masthead who can talk), the Barrel Crew set sail towards the UAA and to rustle up a crew only to fail due to the fact that they have two Humanoids on board as well as a non-organic. When they leave near the isles of the Fishkind, they meet Freddi, a scholar who says he has information on the magical borders of Gaia. NOTE THAT THIS IS WHERE THE RP ACTUALLY BEGINS!
