Detentions & Suspensions
Detention! Uh Oh!
Your character has been caught screwing around and now has to face detention! Detentions are given out by heads of the house, teachers, their assistants and by the Disciplinary Committee to unruly students. Detentions issued by the Disciplinary Committee often results with students cleaning up the school grounds as mandatory volunteer work during or after school hours. Detentions issued by teachers and other faculty can differ depending on the crime. Teachers are allowed full freedom to choose a punishment for the particular delinquent and can be as creative as they want with it.
A Suspension?! . . . Well ******** . . .
Suspensions only happen on rare occasions, but are only given to the most disobedient of students who have very poor records (i.e. disobedient to teachers, faculty and students; receiving mass detentions, destroying school property and causing huge amounts of collateral damage, etc). Suspensions can last for a day or more . . . and in some cases, can be permanent. When a character is issued a permanent suspension, they can only return to school if they're pardoned by the Head of their House. In such a case, the suspended student must perform a trial for the Head of the House. A trial can range from anything that might be considered daunting for the student. If the trial is completed successfully, the student shall return to their classes.
