Scheherazade had been behind the group for so long that her lungs burned trying to catch up. She was no athlete, and the effort was showing. The pale leopardess kept to the tree tops, moving as fast as she dared, following the bits of trails left by others.
A lion? Her step-father was a lion, so she didn't fear the breed so much as the individual.
"Mchezaji, wait here!" She commanded, bounding off after the cry, leaving her subordinate to carry on should she not return. The thought of a diversion had struck her, but now she was as emotionally invested as any other. What if this had been her own daughter?
Thankfully she saw the familiar figure, but only having darted away from the main collection. She wasn't far enough away that they wouldn't have heard her cry of relief. "Ua!" Scheherazade remained on her perch, breathing heavily through her mouth, but her heart was lighter than it had been. The girl was alive. Beaten, but alive.
She roared; loud and thunderous. Surely they would hear her!

Ua had begun to fall when she heard the sound of Scheherazade and she almost cried out, but her strength was fading fast. "Sche..." she tried to say, but it ended on a whimper. She stumbled towards the pale figure, and was relieved when it was not only Scheherazade who moved towards her, instead it was Sanii as well. Safety in numbers. She was safe. She let out a small cry as she collapsed on the ground, those colony members crowding in around her.
Hu had reached her third, coming to her side just as she collapsed. He let out a roar of distress, but gathered his daughter close to him. She was breathing, rapid and uneven but she was breathing.
"I will find who did this," he snarled to himself, furious. The anger was seeping through every pore of his body, rage filling him.
Ardhira'i lingered back away from the growing crowd, her eyes worried and pensive. Ua was safe, but how close had she been the entire time? Had she always been there? Why had no one noticed her? Or had she been stumbled, barely enough energy, towards them? It didn't make sense...Why was so she close to them and yet unseen by them all?
Unknowing to Ardhira'i, Kianga was thinking very much the same thing. Her eyes were narrowed but she crossed to Ua's side, checking her breathing and reassuring herself that the girl was in fact alive. She had a soft spot for the naive girl, but she would rarely let that show.
"We should move back to the centre," Kianga said calmly, her voice soothing. "There is safety in numbers and there is safety in the colony." She glanced at the rogues around them, those that had helped.
"You are all welcome to stay the night, at least, rest. Know that we are grateful for your help in our quest." She glanced back at Ua, sorrowful at the wounds that the girl had sustained.
High in the trees above them, Arcus glanced down at the growing crowd with a look of concern on his face. Something wasn't right here, and it was nagging at the back of his mind. He had spread out, looked to find Ua but had gone in the wrong direction, so it was Scheherazade who had found her first, but still, it wasn't even that he had not been the first to find the girl that was making him concerned.
Something about this all felt 'staged'.
OOC NOTE: Thank you to all who participated in this ORP! I am extremely excited to see rogues interacting in these events, and want to thank you all for driving the plot a bit further.
This ORP is now closed, but will be continued in another ORP (Rogues again very welcomed). There will be more giveaways in the future for the Elimisha so please keep an eye out for them. C:
The raffle will be rolled in the next post.
