- ✿ █ THE WORLD 》 Panya's Forest is a fantasy world where mice and rats are the ruling animals. There are no humans, and most non-rodent animals are scaled down a little to better fit the world and be easier to fight off. The world as it is known was made thousands of years ago by the main goddess, Panya, which is why it is known as Panya's Forest. There are a few important gods and goddesses, and the religion plays an important part of society for the mice. For the rats, science is their new gods.
Reading the other threads in this forum is a good way to get acquainted with the world! In general though, there's a vague air of medieval fantasy for the world (not unlike George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire), and a bit of a steam-punk feel in the cities dominated by rats, who are advanced technologically. Don't be intimidated by all the writing, especially in the Lore section! It's mostly flavor text and for fun, and isn't necessary to understand for roleplay.
The only cultural thing you must understand is unlike our world or most medieval fantasies, Panya's Forest is an equal society that is untainted by misogyny and patriarchy. Men, women and non-binary mice and rats are free to do whatever they wish without constraint to their gender or sex. So any characters who are sexist will be looked upon with disdain. The most important gods are women, and two important gods are married lesbians, so homophobia is also unheard of. Otherwise, the world is open and characters of all sort are allowed in the shop! ✿ █ THE PETS 》 There are two different kinds of pets you can get in this shop - mice and rats. After a treaty was signed by the last king, the two species coexist peacefully, and so they can live in the same areas. Mice are smaller and cuter and the rats are larger with a tendency to be more mutated or grotesque looking. The two species can interbreed thanks to scientific intervention.
There are also "companion pets" and "mounts", which are familiars for your mouse or rat, which are either for entertainment and companionship, or to use to get around the world. This includes insects and amphibians for companions, and small deer, rabbits and birds as mounts.
✿ █ IS THE SHOP RP-REQUIRED? 》 Not at all. You can breed your pets and get customs and game pets very easily, all without RPing them at all. While it'd be nice to have a nice little roleplaying community, I know it's hard to do, and sometimes more fun to just collect pretty things. There are bonuses for RPing too, like extra babies in breedings, and the ability to fully customize your mouse or rat!
✿ █ GETTING A PET 》 It should be really easy to get a mouse or rat! I will try my best to keep them available to people. But if you hang around, surely you'll get one. In general, the pets are free, as are breedings and customs, but paid events are the exception and not the rule!
